Thracian Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 looking at ur quote and seeing ur pic just reminded me, where is porter? looking for some postives and where we might go forward!! porter does resemble something part of the term winger! does anyone know whats goin on with him? He's hiding if he's got any sense. a) He surely wouldn't want to be involved in present circumstances. b) If Holloway sees him with a football he'll be out on loan in no time.
Cat Burger Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 With you on that. Bangura nearly had his life ruined and doesnt need to be reminded of it! And as for smashing up the seats - whats the point??? Just gonna give us a bad reputation and make the stewards more alert and on our case next season. Would that be in a cup game? Trying to take the scalp of a team two divisions above us.
Scow Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 First Half: Watford created a number of chances - mostly from direct play, but fair play to them, it's effective. We had patches of decent passing football without creating much. I was concerned about the sending off as I thought that would change the mindset of the players, and so it proved to be. The free kick that led to the goal shouldn't have been given - nonetheless Alnwick's weak punch allowed for them to score. Second Half: Watford dropped off and allowed us to have the ball. We lacked creativity, pace and movement in the final third so Watford didn't have to break sweat - as proved by us not actually having a shot on target. I'm too tired to look in to it any deeper.

Just gonna give us a bad reputation and make the stewards more alert and on our case next season. What happened? I didn't hear/see owt goin on but I was quite near the front and involved in screaming at players to have a fooking shot to be honest. EDIT: Nothing to do with anything but I needed to vent this........ it was well annoying to not get home from the match til 12.30 when I live in North London!!
Nod.E Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 Milan Out.Demolish the stadium. Players out. Start from scratch. Youth team players, players who are hungry to play. No.
Nod.E Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 If. But. Should. Could. Would. Leicester. Why is it always us that nearly, could've done well? Maybe we should've done well. Maybe if we had Ollie from the start we would've done well. LEICESTER. Why? Why is it always us that should be doing well, but aren't. Look at Norwich, bottom not long ago, now 12th. Could and probably should be us. But it never is. I'm sick of it. Something has got to change but I can't but my finger on what it is. It's something about this football club that just doesn't add up. Players come in. They look good. They turn shit. I'm a 16 year old lad and not really seen success at Leicester and I just don't know why winning games is so hard for Leiecster City Football Club. I thought this was solved when Milan came in. And last year we said "stay up this year, and it's all about next season" Look where we are now. Same position. I'm scared that this sequence will just continue as we can just never seem to cunjure up any kind of run at this club. I cling on to the fact that Milan's first year at Pompey was also unsuccessful and they ended up fine. But that thought is a distant one, if anything desperate. If we can't stay up with the games left, then there is something seriously wrong, something more serious than I first expected. But again this would be something I can't but my finger on. The inability to win a game. Even against 10 men. Something is wrong, Ollie. Please put it right.
Father Ted Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 Can somebody tell why Fryatt isnt being involved!!! howard is the problem in our side nobody believes me......... Howard?!?!? More like Clemence, useless knob.
Father Ted Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 Ha. Anybody hear the post-match interview with Holloway. He said that we played well and then began to blame the players as usual. What a dickhead.
teblin Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 There were a number of reasons why last night was terrible. First of all i cannot believe the attitude of some of our "fans", smashing seats racist slurs i was absolutely disgusted and ashamed to be a associated with them. Secondly the game, lack of tempo ideas movement pace and abilty, clemence and oakley or too simular i can see why holloway wanted osbourne as we need a bit of drive. We have not one player in our side/squad who can beat a man consistantly. For the first time in these last 4 years with us flirting with getting relegated i actually think we have flirted one year too long and we will be playing league one football next year.
Thracian Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 I've just come back from the match and I haven't yet read all the other posts. My mates were already kinda sceptical about going to Vicarage Road and getting something out of it, and when the stadium speaker announced Ollie's glorious 4-5-1 formation, one could've actually guessed that we'd lose. But not exactly in what fashion that would take place. Still, as faithful as we loyal LCFC supporters are, we took our seats and were awaiting a change compared to the woeful display on Saturday. We weren't disappointed, as the side clearly showed an improved determination from the start and it looked like they really wanted to prove it to everyone this time. It was an even game right up until the dismissal of the Watford player in the 40th minute. From there on, it got worse and worse. First of all, conceeding a goal with a one-man advantage is a deadly blow, especially that close to half-time. I thought "Hell yeah, now they're gonna go for it and teach them Hornets a lesson". So did hundreds of other fellas in the away end. We were bitterly disappointed. Now, I don't feel angry at all - that feeling has long subsided. However, the lack of professionalism shown by the squad is deeply concerning. Just at the time when they could've actually proved us all wrong, they did the exact opposite. A terrible mistake at the end of the first half cost us the game. Alnwick was about the only player that deserves credit. I don't blame him for the goal - the guys in front of him didn't mark their opponents closely enough. Ben made a couple of brilliant saves - and that even in the second half. Which says a LOT about our defense and where their heads are. You can always be sure that someone in the back four ****s it up - on purpose or simply out of inability, I can't tell. Even in the second half, we showed tenacity. But here, it all became too apparent. Our midfield was a total disgrace. Oakley was hardly ever seen and continued with where he had left four days ago. Our so-called "Hungarian sensations" were not so sensational, but rather lost their balls too often on numerous occasions or got stuck in traffic with the Watford wingbacks. Clemence should get sacked instantly, what it is that keeps him at this club, I have no fooking clue. His distribution was simply terrible. Terrible! Everything had to go through the middle and he hardly ever found the wingers. It was frustrating - it was the fans who had to show him the proper way! For someone who's supposed to be team leader, he was not worth the captain's armband. But then again, the passing overall was shocking. You can't create danger up front when your passes don't go forward fast enough. Instead, they decided to play around the back. Very creative. Also very boring and ineffective. Howard and hoof balls - it didn't work. Once more. If I remember correctly, I didn't see one single shot on target from him. And this is supposed to be our marksman. Have a laugh. Towards the end, in the last 10 minutes or so, it was evident that team morale had hit a new all-time low: Not one of our four strikers could actually be bothered to run after balls or position themselves correctly. Heads were hanging low, they were rather trotting than moving. Poor, poor by all standards. DJ had no chance against the solid Watford defense and his collaboration with Howard was... simply non-existing. It's like they're living on two different planets. As for Holloway: Three subs and all of them at the wrong time of the game. Why play Chambers from the start again? Hayles - wtf does it make a difference bringing him on with such little time to go? He should've replaced Howard or Campbell way earlier. Hume wasn't that bad and ran around a lot.But that's about everything he did. Got lost in a promising, yet useless dribbling towards the end and why the heck he didn't take that one free-kick is once more a question only Ollie can answer. Speaking of the man: Again, no passion, no presence. You have no fooking clue what you're doing! And you brought in players that were supposed to be top-notch Championship level creme-de-la-creme. HA! All they're after is a big, fat paycheck at the end of the month, nothing else. But as long as there are managers out there giving them the cake and the icing, nothing will change. Yes, we still have the best defensive record. But that counts for nothing when you lose in such an abysmal fashion. I can count the scoring chances we had on one hand - ON ONE HAND!!! If you can't score against ten men within 50+ minutes, you're DOOMED!!! DOOMED!!! Oh, and the one linesman was probably a fan of Elton John - I can't explain otherwise why he constantly decided against us, especially when it came to offside positions. But one could also blame that one our ineffective midfield. Back to full-circle. As for Vicarage Road - shit ground, no atmosphere. The Watford fans needed drums to create noise and the side stands were piss-poor when it came to support. Top of the league - hell yeah! I feel sorry for all those Leicester City fans that have to endure this year in, year out. Since 2003. Some of our fellas in the upper ranks of the stand starting demolishing some seats - you could tell by the noise breaking plastic makes. Frustration was pretty much right next door. That and resignation, as hundreds of other LCFC fans quietly made their way home. Comprehensive summary that. Well worth reading.

The most painful thing is that we don't deserve to be in this division at present!

Sniffer-Clarke Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 Yea, still behind ollie hey ? Fooking shit we are. GOING DOWN unless we change it now. BILLY DAVIES I TELL YA. You are bang on the money there mate DAVIES has got leicester connections, I went to the match last night but it will be the last away match for me this season, 1st half not to bad 2nd half again a load of crap. Without going into a load of detail i cant understand IH tactics for love or money.MM said last year that THIS CLUB could not afford relegation because of the huge running costs.Well i am sorry to say unless MM sorts this club out one way or the other by the end of this month MM will be getting something he has not planned for !RELEGATION ! Howard / Clemance were both crap but having said that we have got 2 wingers who have not cottoned on yet what putting the ball into the box means. I FEAR THE WORSE.
Daggers Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 Last night, I burnt my toast, broke my stereo and got the bottom bug.. Life as a City fan feels really shit.
The People's Hero Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 We're just cr ap and you lot need to get over it.
Number1flanker Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 I feel for those who went to watch that.It must have been horrible. I commend them. I went to the game and we cannot cross a ball let alone pass it!!! There is no passion or desire to win a game. Throw ins everyone was stationary wasting time, like the ball boys throwing 2balls on everytime it went out. Clemence was awful, Hayleys and Howard not commited and lazy. Bori was poor so was DJ, ofside so many times. Take away their wages till they perform and start winning. Performances have been boring and poor. Sort it out Ollie!!! Tho I think Iain Dowie will be in for talks or possibly Coleman.
hairy Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 Lets not forget that Watford are a good side. Yes, they only had ten men but sometimes in football that makes a team play better. I didn't go and only listened to the first half and part of the second so I cant comment on individual performances but we need to find goals and we need to start playing football that we are capable of.
James. Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 Lets not forget that Watford are a good side. Yes, they only had ten men but sometimes in football that makes a team play better. I think it was more a case of us playing worse after they had a man sent off. They played very deep and allowed us to have the ball. As I said elsewhere by far the most concerning thing was that even in a position of clear superiority in terms of possession we created little to no clear chances. The team looked bereft of ideas and possibly more critically devoid of the urgency and intent required to capitalise on the situation. As Fez was saying last night bringing on Hayles at the end just smacks of desperation as opposed to a meaningful, impact substitution. And by the end we were desperate. Desperate for spirit, for quality, for creativity, for cohesion, for a team ethic. However good Watford are, last night they looked far from a Premiership side. But even with 10 men when they broke forward on the counter attack they looked far more likely to score than we ever did for the whole 90 minutes.

Thracian Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 Zero shots on target is absolutely criminal. I wonder if MM's read that, just to emphasise what he's paying for. Give me a ring Milan. I'll sort you some shots out! :D Failing that, get hold of that superstar manager of yours and tell him to try something like: Alnwick, Stearman, Kisnorbo, McAuley, Clapham, King, Weso, Oakley, Hume, Campbell, Beswick. Subs: Chambers, Mattock, Howard, Hayles, Bori. That will give us some pace, passing, solidity and proper accurate crosses. We're far too slow as a team. Beswick gets the ball into the box faster than anyone else at the club and he's accurate. I've left the centre-backs unchanged to benefit from Beswick's dead ball kicks which are stacks better than those of Clemence or Hume in general. King can support attacks from midfield on the floor or in the air and each one of our midfield three would be capable of demanding the ball from the centre-backs and controlling distribution. Oakley might even be able to get forward a bit on occasions because King can defend or attack as required. Stearman would be covered by King if he goes forward and, while I wondered if Clapham had the drive of Mattock I think the balance of youth/experience is about right as it is and I could soon change it if necessary. Laczko or Bori on the bench? It's an inconclusive toss up but Bori retains possession and gives us the option of a right winger which we wouldn't otherwise have, although King can go right and has done on many occasions. We simply won't score more than the odd goal without some proper pace. Howard is so slow opponents find it relatively easy to negate his abilities just like they did Horsfield and, from dead ball kicks, the two big centre-backs should be quite sufficient in the air.
