Rincewind Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 I have a contract with 3 that expires in March. I was going to end it and go back to Pay N Go. Received a phone call from Global Telecon who supply the phones offering a new deal. £25 pm 900 Mix and Match. Everything included unlimited internet access text messages etc. Only thing I use at the moment is the £5pm download. I hardly use it for calls or texts. I have sport alerts for City games but I have to pay for it. This new phone has it all included. It just seems a lot to pay a month for a mobile when I probably use less than £10pm I should really call my mother more I suppose which was my intention when I got my present phone. Als I was using it to text on duty for work but now they have given us a company phone to do that. But I will be able to use it instead of my home phone for free. This makes my NTL phone redundant. the_bowman Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 Well I'm with 3 at the moment on the text appeal plan - 600 texts and 75 minutes, because I do loads of texting! Great deal at only 15 quid a month and I know they do another similar one, but with more minutes. Get a free handset with it too, got mine about a year ago Sony Ericsson K600 so not bad either. Not really related, but thought I'd post it anyway
Guest Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 is it any good though? Why don't you try a website like gsmarena or esato for mobile info? It comes highly recommended.

MC Prussian Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 Ken, wouldn't it be easier to just insert a link? It's a bit tedious scrolling through the entire post, innit?

SOCCERROO FOX Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 I just got a new contract with a new Nokia. Bit of advice don't get in to a fight while your sending a text message and start punching a bloke with your phone in your hand. It will cost you trust me, my phone is snapped in the middle and can only send and recv text messages and i have to get a new one at a cost of $680
Guest Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 I've trimmed it down for you Once you start wiping their bottoms for them, you're on the long, slippery slope to ruin.
Alexikokopops Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 Once you start wiping their bottoms for them, you're on the long, slippery slope to ruin. I still have the novelty of using things. Soon I will grow weary.

Jay Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 in my opinion it sounds like you should stop falling for a salesmans patter and cancel your contract, get a payg phone and save yourself £25.00 a month
Ashley Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 That phone is wack mate Ask them for another one.

Rincewind Posted 16 February 2008 Author Posted 16 February 2008 Its just arrived. I thought I'd canceled it. There was a bit of trouble confirming my debit card and i thought they were going to call me again. I called to speak to the original salesman and got an answering machine. I left a message to call me back but their reply went to my voicemail. I returned the call with 'to return call press' and got an invalid number message. So I called once again and left a message to cancel. It had been arranged to be delivered Monday but my neighbour signed for it. The phones OK but cant see much improvement on the one that I have. The memorys better but apart from that much the same. just received the bill for my present one and the bill is £35. £23+VAT +about£6 for text alerts for City games and £ over my £5 limit game download. All this is included in the Nokia and any browsing I do. But will I spend £35 on P&G for all this? I only have the game now because its included in the package. I dont use any texts and rarely make calls. I use it at home just to use the minutes up rather than my landline. If I send it back I have to pay PP and insurance. I've put it back in the box away from temptation to try it out. Now the contract is near its end on my present one, if I want a P&G can I just purchass the Sim card and reactivate it? Not sure how it works. Its a 3 phone. Do I need to stop with them? I could sell it on and go back to my old one but I have things on that I would need to transfer. And you cant transfer games.

Its a 3 phone. Do I need to stop with them? If you want to go onto PAYG, then you need to cancel your contract with your current provider. You will need to check to see if your phone is unlocked; the easiest way is to find a friend on a different network, and try their SIM in your handset. If it is locked, you have two choices; you can pay to have the phone unlocked, or you can go onto PAYG on 3. If you want to change network, it is worth checking out the websites, as quite often they give out SIMs for free.
Rincewind Posted 17 February 2008 Author Posted 17 February 2008 I'm on my last month on the contract. You pay a month in advance don't you for the rental part? So my next bill will just be any non-included usage. I will go in the 3 shop and check anyway. Don't really want a new phone. I already have 2 others. One an old one which is basic and a Orange PAYG which I rarely use now. I have to email them to say I'm returning this new phone anyway so I'll mention it. My 3 phone has 3 features on it can it be connected to another network if I put a different sim card in?
