Another Crazy Gunman In USA

Recommended Posts

Makes you wonder how many innocent deaths it will take in the states before they do something about their gun laws.

RIP the victims

Where'd you get four from?

It says five dead including gunman.

So four victims, plus one idiot.

Or it would've been if I was reading the right numbers.

I blame the initial poster of the bad news.

Actually, looking at it, it seems it's six dead plus the gunman... the numbers have gone up since the article was initially reported.

It's 7 in total anyway.

Unfortunately, there is neither the will nor the desire to increase gun control. The NRA is a huge lobbyist in DC and they carry too much political clout and finance for them to be ignored.

5 Dead including Gunman in University Shooting....

That country..... :dunno:

I know only too well how easy it is for someone to get their hands on a gun and go crazy.

My 2nd cousin was convicted in 2002 of shooting his mum dad and sister over a stupid row about him getting into debt.

25 years old and life without parole!

He was looking at death row until he admitted all charges and it didn't go to trail.

The above post about NRA is true. I have lived in the US on 3 seperate occassions (soon be 4), and walking around a mall and seeing gun shops right next to clothing stores is a little unsettling but when you grow up in the US guns are an everyday thing. We have the strictist laws in the world so it seems shocking to us.

I think once the idiot has gone from the whitehouse then things could possibly get better, clinton tried and succeeded in some areas failed in others. I know a couple of candidates are pushing for tighter gun control.

Problem is do you give the NRA what they want and win their vote or go aganist them and risk losing power?

WTF has George Bush to do with anything?

The democrats run both houses of the us congress and therefore hold most of the power and are able to legislate against gun possession if they so wish. Bush has the power of veto I'm led to believe but it's doubtful he'd use it for something like this!

Thanks for that, but to be honest I'd never met him, his sister or mum and it's over 30 years since I'd met his dad.

Having the same great granny was as close as it gets but it's sad whichever way you look at it.

there was a programme about youth crime. Glasgo was picked out as an awful place to live. Think about 4 gangs in 2/3 mile radius. Wont go into full details but places like Glasgow there are about 4 gangs in a couple mile radius. If anyone steps into another gangs area the face the chance of being attacked/stabbed. They asked the kids and youth leaders what they would do. They never reccommended the police to help.

More jobs and more facilities was what they wanted. One scheme has got ex-gang members running their own sports equipment hire scheme. They have former gang rivals playing on the same 5-a-side football team. Outside the fence there were some youths jeering at them. One lad has to take the groups mini-bus for what would be a five minute walk because he would have to walk through three different gang terrortories.

One kid about 9 or 10 said he expected to be involved in fights when older and maybe even killed. Depressing images of the future.

But thankfully there is evidence on here (Foxestalk) alone that not all youths are bad. We just hear about the bad ones more through the media. What good is it shoving a youngster in a home when, when he comes out he returns to the same enviroment that caused him to be put away in the first place. Youth clubs are massively underfunded, but if believed GB has promised more funds for them. But somehow I doubt the Tories would be willing to put money iinto it even lmore.

Errors edited out hopefully.

Charlton Heston, President of the NRA, said

"So as we set out this year to defeat the divisive forces that would take freedom away, I want to say those words again for everyone within the sound of my voice to hear and to heed, and especially for you, Mr. Gore: From my cold dead hands!"

at a rally following Columbine.

I say, LET'S DO IT! :yesyes:
