filbertboy Posted 24 February 2008 Posted 24 February 2008 Can anyone help ?..........................I am fast losing interest in my football team......afterall these years I have never felt so depressed..........up one week when we beat Palace...down for a couple of weeks as we lose a few more...........up as we wallop Norwich...............down as we crash to Cov scum. so many times down compared to ups .......................dont know if I need this anymore. Well fed up.
WetFlannel Posted 24 February 2008 Posted 24 February 2008 Today was the only day I've just gave up singing in the second half and said, enoughs enough. Why should I bother? The prospect of paying money to be frustrated is now becoming regular, and I think I may be drastically cutting the amount of games I visit this season.

A lot of people are. I still think i'm right in saying that the attendance will be a lot lot lower if we get relegated. Most people won't come back.

worksopfox Posted 24 February 2008 Posted 24 February 2008 I'm also losing interest. With an 120 mile round trip just for a home game and the rising cost of petrol, I'm beginning wonder, I may as well throw my hard earned money away. A season tkt holder for over 20 yrs, I not sure if I can motovate myself to buy one next season. Hard earned money as been spent going such places as Plymouth and that dire day at Blackpool this season. Theres no passion i n my beloved team, and at this rate we will never be a Premier League Team again!!!!! Please someone get us on track!!!!!!!1
Thracian Posted 24 February 2008 Posted 24 February 2008 A lot of people are. I still think i'm right in saying that the attendance will be a lot lot lower if we get relegated. Most people won't come back. Attendances will drop if we keep approaching away games the way we do. I no longer travel away because City remain so negative, despite the fact their negativity doesn't seem to work. As someone who wants to see positive football, away games simply represent a waste of time and money. I've a season ticket for home fixtures but otherwise much prefer to watch the reserves, either home or away. They do play some pass-and-move football and they do have a go. With King, Kish and Weso in midfield plus Fryatt, Beswick, Jorrin John and the inimitable Sapp-monster going forward there's always something happening.

We all know that - so why bother repeating it over and over and over? I hear an echo. Echo.

Matt Posted 24 February 2008 Posted 24 February 2008 I have said it and tried it myself but then thought to myself, IF I didn't go to the game (I'm personally talking home games as I don't go that many away, I'm a glory hunter you see, only pick the games I want to go to, such a crime ) what would I do? Chances are i'd listen to the game on the radio, So what the point? I'd still have intrest no matter how depressing or how pissed of I am with out "football players", I have a season ticket so I waste my money if I go, and I waste my money if I don't go, and I'd only listen to the game, so the way I see it is i'll waste my money and actually watch the game. The thing is we must all be gluten for punishment because I hate it when theres no game on because of internationals and I hate the summer without no (club) football. Can't live with Leicester, Can't live without. The frustrating and really patronising thing I hate is when the players put things on the OS saying "We're trying our hardest and it'll come soon", "We're sorry for the fans", e.t.c...Shut the fuk up and do your talking on the pitch. Fuk your "passion", "commitment" its all bullshit, prove yourself on the football pitch and we'll be happy.
Zingari Posted 24 February 2008 Posted 24 February 2008 yes indeed ; paradoxically the reason we are all p*ssed off so much is because we care so much , i've being saying "that's it , no more " on and off for over 40 years and still keep coming back ; but this is probably the hardest it's got ( or maybe i'm getting less resilient )
l444ry Posted 24 February 2008 Posted 24 February 2008 In my opinion the "matchday experience" is the biggest joke in any sport in any country. How ever did this laughable cattle market choreography of supporters reach this ghastly position? The Coventry supporters were virtually silent until they scored and then..................(cue stupid celebration music). Half time arrives and .......cue 60's music so loud you can't think let alone chat. The same can be said of the Walkers or anywhere else. I'm amazed that these clubs get any supporters (paying customers) over 12 years old. Don't be suprised if they start constructing Arsenal like murals into the empty seats and pipe "atmosphere" into the ground before much longer.
mat_j101 Posted 24 February 2008 Posted 24 February 2008 You think we are the only team that has these problems? Every team has bad periods - at the end of the day i will buy my season ticket whether we are in the Premiership or the Blue Square North (or whatever its called these days). If people lose interest when we have bad times, and then start going when we pick up again, thats my definition of glory hunters

I'd say we had better stadium atmosphere than Coventry and our's is shit (As everyone knows), The only thing Coventry and their "Entertainment" or atmosphere had was the Dancers before the match

That one sentence pretty much sums up where I and I guess several thousand city fans find themselves. City certainly test your loyalties.

You know, I feel sorry for all you guys and gals that still push themselves to go and watch Leicester City play, be it home and/or away. I can't think of many other clubs that still have such a faithful and impressive steady support and fanbase. One of the key aspects of the upcoming season will be an improvement of atmosphere at the Walkers (aka getting rid of all "American Entertainment" elements, or at least most of them). Charge the fans less. Be it tickets, food, drinks or football shoppe items. Pay less for footballers expenses, cut the wages, make them feel that they should be here for the football first, then the paycheck. Cut the ridiculous amount of agents' wages. One bloody million and see where it has brought us to? I thought the customer to be king, but with Leicester City, it's more like a "Whip 'n Candy" approach. Thing is, can the fans make the club listen to them? I can't really go there in person, but I'd like to encourage every one of you to gather and to participate in meetings with the club responsibles. I could write an angry letter to them, but I guess they'd only laugh at my ridiculous attempt at putting things "right". Plus, I'm just a sole supporter from across the Channel and I can't tell what difference a single voice can do... I see that a club is run on management basis and supposed to make a profit. Fair play. But when you start treating your customers like shit, then they'll lose any trust that there's still left, thus creating a downwards spiral that will see this club go down faster than you can say "Hume Hume Double-Hume you!" and we'll be worse off than like 5 years ago. This club has a massive potential and it'd be a crying shame to see it all fall apart. Where's the honour and care gone, I wonder? Either down the drains or into the club responsibles'/players pocket.

The prospect of paying money to be frustrated is now becoming regular, and I think I may be drastically cutting the amount of games I visit this season. I totally agree. Although it is not loyal towards my team, I don't see why I should continue to fork out for something I don't enjoy any more. As well as the football, the general "matchday experience" at the Walkers is so boring that I can't see myself renewing my ST next year.
