Well feeling sorry for yourself won't get you anywhere will it?

I've worked hard for what I have and everytime I've had a knock I've just shrugged it off and got on with it.

I take the view that in life there are inevitably victims but their usually the ones feeling sorry for themselves and thinking everything or everyone is against them.

Admittedly sometimes you do need a bit of luck but if life was to go tits up for me tomorrow I have no doubt that I'd be back on my feet within months.

That sort of potted philosophy serves a purpose when applied to a small part of someone's life, but I'm pretty sure that even Gary Player would have conceded that his life may have took a very different path had he have been born to black parents in South Africa .

As i said earlier , our lives take its course due to the a unique set of circumstances that make us who we are, and how we develop, and to what extent. ( e.g. colour, sex, nationality, wealth health etc etc and of course not forgetting our own endeavours }

But to say that our lives are governed by solely our own choices and endeavors is as ridiculous as the opposite view that our lives are somehow mapped out .

I actually do believe in the philosophy that our lives are mapped out before us and no matter what we do,you only get what is coming to you.

Obviously the more you put into your life,the more you will get out of life but somethings are just not meant to happen for a reason.

(This doenst mean you can watch daytime TV and not work,study etc and say"raj said i;ll get what's coming to me anyway!!!"

Sometimes you can try and try for things and if it aint gonna happen,it aint gonna happen.

I remember when NTL cable first came out. On the interactive there used to be message boards and one used to have very heated arguments about race. There used to be one from a person who represented the 'true white british man. What was funny is they were saying how Mr foreigner came over couldn'tspeak English and taking all the jobs. Now this one person couldn't even spell Britain or several other words.

I imagined a doctor or some other professional arriving at Heathrow to take up a senior position in this country to be greeted with placards that read 'Forengers go hom britan for wites.' I wonder what this newly arrive immigrant would think he had let himself in for by coming to this country?

The messageboards were eventually closed down for obvious reasons. There was one person that posted who actually worked at immigration centres and vetted asylum seekers and others. He used to say it wasn't as easy to get into the country as some of the media like the Mail suggested. I tended to take more notice of his posts than the ones that started 'I know this bloke down the boozer who knows this bloke who has a cousin that lives in a street full of em, and you wouldn't believe the stories hell tells about how theres 50 liiving in one house all illegal. Its true cos this bloke wouldn't lie.'

Now whether the immigration bloke was genuine I cannot be 100% sure but he did supply figures and his posts were pretty well written. Unlike others I did not think I had the right to tell him he was talling a load of bo%%^&& if I couldn't back up my arguments with evidence.

I used to say to these people if you know where all these illegal people are working why don't you report them? This type of question used to be ignored and they refused to name names.
