Raj Posted 6 March 2008 Posted 6 March 2008 I'm fed up of being taxed to the hilt. Council tax, water, gas, electric, petrol, food, housing etc all going up way out of line with my wages. Knowing if I lose my job no fecker will help me because i've been good and saved a bit of money.... yet lazy feckers who don't want to do anything get it handed to them on a plate. I'm sick and tired of left wingers preaching to us and forcing things upon us. Just so they can tick the diversity box on their forms. So what is you don't have that many ethnic/women police officers, just get the best people for the job. So what is the proms aren't "inclusive"... do they not sell tickets to ethnics? Yes they do!!! They don't go because it's not their thing. Just like going to a bangra festival isn't mine. Doesn't mean they have to play a bit of bloody oasis to make me feel "included". As a white middle class male of 28... I certainly do feel like nobody particularly gives a flying fook what I think or If I feel "included" or whether my rights are infringed. Ive read this a few times now(im abit slow!) And i agree almost 100% to it. I aint white(obviously!) but i was born and bred here and have been working for over 17 years. Ive paid thousands in tax,NI etc and have never rec'd any benefits. If i lose my job i will get fcuk all,yet other whom have been here 10 mins get alot of help with benefits etc... My brother was made redundant last year, after working 35 years.(He came over here when he was 6 months old...not on his own obviously!) He now is doing agency work cos he cant get owt permanent.Alot of his fellow workers are eastern european and he is competing with them for work. Its very tough at the moment. BUT not just for the white folk. So i can understand the white folk being very frustrated, but it must be the same for other countries too, whom find them selves in such situations???
Head Honcho Posted 6 March 2008 Posted 6 March 2008 May I ask what your point is? I don't have a point but the poster I quoted suggested that we only believe what we read in the papers and I disagreed because for me it's reality.
Rincewind Posted 6 March 2008 Posted 6 March 2008 Is your doctors in an area that has ethnic population or did they all travel 30 miles to see this one doctor?
Koke Posted 6 March 2008 Posted 6 March 2008 I can't speak for other but this is the reality for me.I went to the doctors last Monday and walked into a surgery with maybe 40 people in it and I was one of half a dozen white faces! Or to put it another way 85% of the people waiting to see a doctor were not white. This is the reality for me in Newport, a city without a large ethnic population, so god knows what it's like elsewhere. I personally have no axe to grind but for many out there who do this sort of thing is all they need! What exactly is your point? I went to my doctor yesterday due to my ear problems and I, along with another old lady, was the only black persons. The rest were white.

The People's Hero Posted 7 March 2008 Posted 7 March 2008 I have a job but don't do any work. Am I a member of the working class? Only I'm not sure whether to overreact and shout and scream in mo-no-sy-lla-bic words and grunts or not. Stirring the pot as always. Confused of Maidstone (24)

Lets cut the bull about Colour or Creed, I have asian and coloured friends that are as English as I am. Just because they have different religious views doesnt make them an immigrant. As Raj rightly points out (alarmingly talking yet more sense!!! ) he and his brother have paid into this country as much as us 'white folk'. The issues are that Labour seem to think we are a Facebook nation and they want to be the first to reach 1 zillion members so they continuing to let as many non british nationals into the country which has a detrimental effect on Employment, Wages (those polish chaps work for minimum wage!! making it difficult to get a decent wage in the City) housing & benefits. Labour have attempted make rules down the line which is impossible, every household and every case should be reviewed on its own merit. We (the Mrs and I) miss out on the normal benefits because we fall into a higher Income yet with the piss poor amount we recieve in comparison to others we struggle like **** to live even though we both earn a reasonable wage.
Dr The Singh Posted 7 March 2008 Posted 7 March 2008 I agree with both Raj and CIty SLicker, times are hard, and I don't think any of us can really on the government for help, unfortunately i'm like many who's jobs are niether guarenteed and live with the fact that as a cost cutting excercise etc my job will be gone!!!

True, There are very few Careers around now. I for 1 only look at my job as a job and a means to pay bills and live, I gave up working for a career years ago!!

When I look at the job vacancies I sometimes wonder how this country exists financially. Practically every job is a 'service' type job no one seems to be manufacturing anything anymore. Heaven help us if there is ever any sort of worldwide financial collapse because we import so much of the basics in life like food and clothing and our utilites are nearly all foriegn owned now that we'd struggle to survive. Or am I seeing this too simplistically

Or am I seeing this too simplistically It goes further, the local trader is dying, large industries and corporations have killed the local trader. I was speaking to a local trader who has had his shop in his family for over 80 years, who now is selling because certain franchises have opened and the cross over of those franchises in his industry have literally taken his business away. Unfortunately he can't get a franchise for his store because , for one the cost and because there are so many in the area as it is!! Local produce and individuality is dying!!!!!
Master Fox Posted 7 March 2008 Posted 7 March 2008 England is a pretty sh*t place to live come to think of it.
Babylon Posted 7 March 2008 Posted 7 March 2008 England is a pretty sh*t place to live come to think of it. The only bright spot is the weather and the lovely beaches.... oh shit.
Rincewind Posted 7 March 2008 Posted 7 March 2008 We have the present students to look forward to if that makes the future look any brighter..
Dames Posted 7 March 2008 Posted 7 March 2008 England is a pretty sh*t place to live come to think of it. Hence why i'm going to move to somewhere like Holland at the earliest oppurtunity.
Master Fox Posted 7 March 2008 Posted 7 March 2008 Hence why i'm going to move to somewhere like Holland at the earliest oppurtunity. Why Holland?
The People's Hero Posted 7 March 2008 Posted 7 March 2008 Why Holland? He has a phobia of hills. He can also never co-ordinate what he's wearing, and wants to fit in with other people who think orange tee shirts look good with green corduroys and bright red garish Nikes.
Guest Posted 7 March 2008 Posted 7 March 2008 Clue: four letter word beginning with P Park? Post? Pink?
