DanTheFox07 Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 I Have to say after the last few weeks where our strikers havent performed and scored the goals that will move us out the relegation battle. Campbell is quick but i dont rate him as a finisher compared to fryatt, Ive listened to many debate on here about Fryatt but You only have to look at his goals an nobody can deny he is one of the best finishers at the club. Fryatt hasnt been given a run in the side by holloway and everyone deserves a chance, so after his appearences off the bench I think Fryatt deserves a start, Apparentley he is in contention to start against southampton tonight! so im hoping he does play and proves many of his doubters wrong and scores to give us a win over southampton. Keep The Faith!

MikeyT Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 I have to admit, i'd like to see Fryatt given a chance from the start tonight! Campbell has a missed a few chances of late. And ok they may have been deemed offside but Fryatt got 2 in the net a couple of games ago! Give the lad a chance!
Bernie's Love Child Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 Start him with Howard up front. If we've not scored after 55 - 60 minutes, replace him with DJ....
Samilktray Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 Deej causes more problems than Howards, rightfully if your dropping any one its Howard. But Fryatt hasnt the pace to play off Howard i dont think, so hopefully Deej will retain his place.
SPF07 Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 I see no reason not to play him from the start tonight. Because he is RUBBISH! What is it with this idiot you lot like.??? Strong = No Scores = No Pace = No Love Child = Yes

Might make the attack a bit light weight. Also, with DJ still suffering from his pelvis injury, Ollie may decided to rest him
Samilktray Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 Might make the attack a bit light weight. Also, with DJ still suffering from his pelvis injury, Ollie may decided to rest him Barry and Deej. I wouldnt mind these two starting to be honest.

Bernie's Love Child Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 Barry and Deej.I wouldnt mind these two starting to be honest. Bazza to come on for Big Stevie Howard towards the end to push the ball over the line for a last minute winner!!!!
Samilktray Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 How can he score when he hasnt been playing u dumbass. 17 appearances (5 sub) 2 goals. Nuff' Said.
Ric Flair Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 The thing with Fryatt is, he only plays well when he's been dropped for a while. His first few games for Megson, he was superb after Allen snubbed him. Then he went off the boil for Megson and got dropped. Holloway came in and we had injuries up front so Fryatt came back in and scored, but got sent off. He did enough to impress Holloway though and was back in when the ban was up. He was then pretty dire in a number of games and as soon as Howard and Hayles came in and DJ came back he was dropped. It wouldn't surprise me that when he next starts he'll have a blinder get picked again a few times and then his form will drop again. 3 or 4 goals in about 25-30 games this season is dog mess.
Stevosevic Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 I'd rather not, hes a waste of space. It does seem that only 12 year olds who like to chant his name want to see him in the side...
STUHILL Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 I still wouldn't start him, but I would bring him off the bench a lot earlier if we didn't look like scoring. Howard is always going to be useful for his height and presence, hopefully score goals too, now we have a proper winger getting crosses in. DJ has been a real live wire recently and although not scoring, is causing many problems with his pace and movement. Fryatt on after 50mins if losing or not looking like scoring!
Samilktray Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 No we're not. But the mercury printed stickers saying it.
Daggers Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 Fryatt? To start? I hope to hell someone put my share of magic 'shrooms to one side when they were being handed out earlier or I am going to throw a major league pissy fit.
davieG Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 How can he score when he hasnt been playing u dumbass. 21 starts = 3 goals this season suggest that he has played Campbell 17 starts = 5 goals not a lot in it!
STUHILL Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 21 starts = 3 goals this season suggest that he has played Campbell 17 starts = 5 goals not a lot in it! I don't get this obsession with Fryatt. 'Fryatt Our Saviour' It's a bloody myth!!

And ok they may have been deemed offside but Fryatt got 2 in the net a couple of games ago! Give the lad a chance! What exactly constitutes "a chance" nowadays. According to the stats Matty Fryatt has had SEVENTY-NINE chances at Leicester City so far (61 starts and 18 as sub) and has scored just 16 goals. That is the reality and it doesn't make persuasive reading. Yes he's looked quite lively lately in parts of his brief appearances as a sub but that's often been the case with Fryatt. It's a totally different thing over 90 minutes and I've seen nothing to suggest he's developed his game significantly enough to merit a starting place at all - especially in preference to DJ who, in 16 starts during an injury ravaged season has still scored two more goals than Fryatt has in 21 starts. Get real people. PS: Offside goals didn't count for Hammond and offside goal assists didn't count for Shush! Why does it surprise me that people want to apply a different yardstick for their blue eyed boy?

Why does it surprise me that people want to apply a different yardstick for their blue eyed boy? Totally agree!!! Most strikers can come on with 15-20 minutes to go and look lively, (except Hayles ofcourse!), but I think Fryatt isn't effective enough over 90minutes, he doesn't have any pace or strength to worry the defenders. I see his major impact for us, coming off the bench in the 2nd half and injecting some energy and clever movement as we push for goals! 90mins performances from Fryatt in the past have always been a bit flat.
Head Honcho Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 Because he is RUBBISH! Come on wise guy who'd you play?
