termite111 Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 i wasnt at the game but when watching the highlights the morning i seen something that i havent in a while PASSION when we scored i thought it was fantastic the way hendrie reacted to the fans. he actually looks like he wants to win and i hope we sign him in the summer cause he is something this club has lacked, very passionate and a player can be a very big fans hero which other than fryatt and hume we havent had in recent years. so come on ollie keeps us up like i know you will and sign this lad up permanantly in the summer.

Why does is it shown in the odd game I dont see why we cant play like that or even try every match..
DB11 Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 Is there a clause in the loan that we can sign him in the summer for a certain fee?
dandannieldanok Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 Is there a clause in the loan that we can sign him in the summer for a certain fee? I reckon we'll get him for free, he says he's trying to earn a permanent deal here and I don't think Sheff Utd will step in his way.
Filberts lovechild Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 His celebration may have something to do with him being an ex-villa man and no doubt getting stick from the home fans all game! When he celebrated winning the pen i had flashbacks of the weasel Robbie S*vage against the sheep shagers
Matt Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 Just to bear in mind, Don't get me wrong from what i've seen and heard he is a good player, However reports from Stoke say he was great in his first loan spell and not so good in his second spell on loan, and Sheff Utd say he is not so good and lazy. Hopefully here is not the case, He is impressing, and hopefully he wants to be here, The worrying thing about the reports from Stoke and Sheff Utd is a similar fact to what most of our players attitudes are - Play and impress for the contract, once they have their feet under the table, got what they want stop impressing and playing as good. We can only judge on we have seen of him though, and so far that has been very good.
Mort Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 His celebration may have something to do with him being an ex-villa man and no doubt getting stick from the home fans all game! What i was thinking... he's been good for us since he came, but its worth bearing in mind this was Hendrie (a Villa man down to his finger nails) playing against WestBrom at the Hawthorns.
clazkel Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 I hope Hendrie keeps the passion he has for the rest of the games this season as he helped lift the fans and team yesterday. I hope it isn't a one off because it was against West Brom and their fans gave him stick. I don't understand why Sheffield Utd don't want him in their team We have gotta play Sheffield United yet, could be an important game for both teams!

Bert Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 Think he's a Brum fan actually He's Claret and blue mate. Was in the stands with the Villa fans giving the City supporters some shit when Gabby Agbangyamam scored the 119th minute winner last season.

Benji Posted 17 March 2008 Posted 17 March 2008 Why does it always seem to come down to this passion tosh? For the last 4 or so years that we've been sh1t it's been pasion this passion that, radio leicester every week get's SPAMMED with an ocean of the crap. Passion does not win football gams, believe it or not it's about scoring more goals than the opposition... Every week it's 'oooh X hasn't played with any passion boo hoo' how the hell can you tell the difference? I'll tell you you will only notice if the team is playing so shite technically that there's nothing else to concentrate on. An average player will spend a couple of years at a football club and move up and down the country throughout his career, very few can you say actually give a hoot about the team they're at. I know who i'd have to win in a game of 11 Savage's against 11 Ronaldo's. Is it any coincidence we can't hit a barn door for 2 weeks then after a couple of days training with apparent dedication to shooting, we put away 4? At the end of the day, in the Championship at least 6 teams of the 24 will have a successful season, whether they're good or shite, it's all relative to the opposition. We've simply not been GOOD ENOUGH.

Do you offer a long contract to a good player and risk them slipping into cruise control? Or do you perhaps lose the player through offering too short a contract, despite the possibility that it would keep the player focused on doing well?
Dr The Singh Posted 17 March 2008 Posted 17 March 2008 I hope Hendrie keeps the passion he has for the rest of the games this season as he helped lift the fans and team yesterday. I was speaking to some bagies fan's and there has been a long hatred for Hendrie and appaently he always seems to play well against them!!!
Tilley Posted 17 March 2008 Posted 17 March 2008 Yeah I heard he was always good agasint WBA aswell, but who cares we reaped the rewards!
Rocky Dennis Posted 17 March 2008 Posted 17 March 2008 He's Claret and blue mate. He's a Bluenose mate. I remember an interview with him years ago when he said he supported Brum and the Villa wankstains were all booing him at the next home game.
Simi Posted 17 March 2008 Posted 17 March 2008 How can you judge passion by not attending the game, then just basing it on celebrations? I thought before and just after the goal we were fairly poor and seemed to never press the ball.
Matt Posted 17 March 2008 Posted 17 March 2008 It must be a nightmare for a club owner.Do you offer a long contract to a good player and risk them slipping into cruise control? Or do you perhaps lose the player through offering too short a contract, despite the possibility that it would keep the player focused on doing well? Catch 22. In an ideal world you would offer every player a pay as you play deal with good bonuses and incentives (Or even a low paid contract and very good bonuses, "Commission" if you like) and they would accept it, This would make them pull their fingers out there arse and want to play, and they would need to keep good form up in order to play and earn their wages. But this isn't an ideal world and if you offered this to many players they would laugh, walk away and land on their feet at another club getting paid several thousands a week, unless of course many clubs started to go this way and they may then be forced to accept such a deal, Its never going to happen though.
Chromophobia Posted 17 March 2008 Posted 17 March 2008 tbh as much as people are liking hendrie now, he seems like the sort of player who could quite easily get complacent. I'd rather have a stoic consistently hard working player, his controversial past makes me think he could easily go off the rails, but who knows. maybe he growed up.

We've simply not been GOOD ENOUGH. Are yor trying to say Christiano "Little Bitch" Ronaldo doesn't have as much passion as Robbie "Shaggy Cnut" Savage? I Think Little Bitch has skill AND Passion. Makes my blood boil.
Thracian Posted 18 March 2008 Posted 18 March 2008 Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the most passionate players I've ever seen - as well as one of the top five. His goalscoring consistentcy is phenomenal and you can see it how determined he is in his expressions every time he scores or misses. Ronaldos against Savages? The contest would be stopped at halftime and you wonder if the Savages would ever get the ball.
wirralsimon Posted 18 March 2008 Posted 18 March 2008 I agree withnhim if he meant the Brazilian Ronaldo. Ridiculously talented but very much a mixed blessing for a team.
