C-man Posted 17 March 2008 Posted 17 March 2008 Leicester City striker Barry Hayles saluted the club's 'amazing support' following Saturday's comprehensive 4-1 victory over West Bromwich Albion.The Blue Army were out in force at the Hawthorns - with almost 2,000 City supporters making the trip. And Hayles said that their backing on the day definitely had a bearing on the Leicester performance. He said: "The fans were very vocal on Saturday. Even though we went a goal behind they stuck with us, and that really helps. "They have shown incredible loyalty and that was something that we can feel on the pitch. There was a real connection between us on Saturday. "Nobody outside of Leicester expected us to get anything at the Howthorns - but we kept our belief. The same has to be said of the fans as well - you could sense it. "It just felt right. We were up against it but we all kept our focus and we got our rewards." The Foxes now take on Hull City at the Walkers Stadium at the weekend, and the club are already forecasting that their biggest crowd of the season will be inside the ground on the day. "I have to say that the support that we have received in my short time here has been nothing short of outstanding," added Hayles. "I am told that we are looking at a crowd of over 27,000 this weekend which is incredible. I just hope that we can again repay their faith." Meanwhile, Hayles paid tribute to loan star Lee Hendrie who played a major part in Saturday's success. "When you are down at the bottom you need people to stand up and be counted and that's what Lee did at the weekend. "He got a lot of stick throughout the game from their fans but in a perverse way I think he actually enjoyed it. It was just water off a ducks back. "He seemed to enjoying playing the pantomime villain. You need characters like that. He's been brilliant for us since he came here and he was one of our best players on Saturday. "He just seems to be getting better and better with every game at the moment. He has got a big part to play, as we all do, in our battle against relegation." Barry talks sense.

I wish the atmosphere at home was half as good as it was sat because the fans really need to get behind the team as we are only just out of the bottom 3. Everyone needs to play there part if we are gonna stay up!

Now if only we can get the few thousand miserable bastards round me in the east stand to sing on saturday then maybe we'll be looking at a good atmos

He manged to get forward alot and also get back and defend. He seemed to be up for the game!
