leicestertrucker Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 I am also not sure about next season, i have watched city 4 about 30 years, not always as a sth, but did neary 18 years home and away, only missing 3 games in that time. About 6 years ago a bought a season ticket for myself and 3 junior season tickets, i have 5 kids so they had too take it in turns, they really enjoyed it at that time, so when it came too renewing i had to stretch my money and get them all a ticket, it was worth it cos they enjoyed the whole experience. But how things change !! over the last 2 seasons 2 of the boys no longer come too the games!! Boring !! Not enjoyable anymore !! Thier words, infact it has put them off footy totally !! Very sad !! LCFC have lost 2 lads. Im hoping when they are older they may go back?? My problem about next season is that one boy is nearly 13 so his ticket is in the under16 band for pricing, also one of the girls will be 12 in july so she moves into the same price range, so even without a price rise my outlay will already go up by about £50. not sure if i could stand much more of an increase!!
purpleronnie Posted 26 March 2008 Posted 26 March 2008 Everton reduce ticket prices:- Once again, Everton are operating an early bird window, which is open until April 19. Last week the Club announced prices for the 2008/9 campaign. For those taking advantage of the early bird scheme, there will be a reduction in all areas of the stadium based on the 2007/08 full price with the exception of junior tickets in the Family Enclosure where the price remains the same. The offer, which represents a 10% discount on the new Season Ticket prices for 2008/09, follows the complete price freeze 12 months ago and means watching Premier League football continues to be excellent value and is significantly cheaper than the national average. Other highlights of this year's offer include: Junior Family Enclosure Season Ticket to remain at £190 - just £10 per Premier League game Pay no interest on Season Tickets bought with the Everton MasterCard until January 2009 No booking fees for online purchases Waiting list to be introduced to offer non-season ticket holders the best possible seat post renewal deadline
Asha Posted 26 March 2008 Posted 26 March 2008 I'm going to e-mail Peter Jones now. He seemed to really love me when I called him an 'idiot' for not ordering a permanent goal tune switch to Pigbag last year.
hairy Posted 26 March 2008 Posted 26 March 2008 I feel a little miffed that I bought a season ticket (well two because I am double the idiot) at full price then they do fans fixtures at reduced rates. Whilst I agree these reductions are good for the club in the long run I feel a reduction in ST prices would be more what I was looking for.

Overall, STH's pay less per game than if you bought the tickets on a match by match basis, including special offers. I have no problem with this as I am paying up front for a reason (or a number of); it's the fact that my money appears to be going to the undeserving that I have a problem with. If ST prices were to go up, and the overall quality of the players, on field entertainment etc improved accordingly, then great. But it's knowing that this won't happen that gets my back up.

They should at least give us a season of quality performances before putting up the prices.
Guest Posted 26 March 2008 Posted 26 March 2008 They should at least give us a season of quality performances before putting up the prices. True. But it's not very likely.

Raj Posted 26 March 2008 Posted 26 March 2008 I am waiting for a reason to ditch my ST after many many years. If the prices DO go up i will throw it on the pitch after the last game of the season....attached to a fcuking brick!!!!

I've had a recent urge to make a sign for after the Sheff Wed game when the players come round the pitch. Want it to say something like 'you've let us down'...but will probably end up with 'you're all wankers go fook yourselves'.

Father Ted Posted 26 March 2008 Posted 26 March 2008 To Peter, I am writing to you on behalf of MANY Leicester supporters who are disgusted at plans to raise season-ticket prices. Milan Mandaric already has many millions, why scam many commited and passionate Leicester fans out of money to watch rubbish football (if next season is going to be like the last 3/4 years). If we were to get relegated and we would be watching us play against the likes of Northampton and Yeovil, would the prices then be acceptable - NO. Recently Everton reduced their ticket prices for next season and they are rewarding their fans to watch the likes Of Man Utd and Arsenal aswell as European football instead of possibly Northampton and Yeovil. Many fans are discussing in disgust at the fact that season ticket prices may go up. We had 29,000 fans turn up to watch us play against Hull which was an absolutely disgraceful performance. Surely if prices were REDUCED would you not get MORE fans turn up to games and so MORE support and the team may begin to improve which may lead to us going from Relegation favourites to promotion chasers. If prices were to rise then I would for one consider not getting a season ticket next season along with many others. Just look at Leeds and Elland Road - £700 for a normal season ticket and they are struggling for support and spiralling slowly downwards all because their chairman thought he would get more money by raising the ticket prices. Thanks for listening.

Thanks for listening. The reply I got was: Thank you for your email. Your thoughts on season ticket pricing have been noted. I am sure you will join me and all other Foxes fans in hoping we are playing in the Championship in 2008/9. There are 6 matches left and I can assure you that everyone at the club is focused on reaching safety. Thank you for your continued support. Regards Peter I wonder if its automessage?

skinnydipper Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Imagine you bought a season ticket for the cinema. 60% of the films shown are downright shite, 25% are o.k and 15% are pretty good and entertaining. The cinema send out a letter inviting you to renew but informing you that next years season ticket will increase in cost by 10%. Personally I think most of us would tell them to stick their offer where the sun don't shine. Moral of the story; football fans are mugs (myself included as I shall probably renew) , the powers that be know this and therefore have no worries about screwing us, the consumer, errrm sorry ,I meant to say fans. It is laughable that at a time when the club says it needs the fans to help it stay up the reward for our loyal support is a hike in price rises. Maybe I won't sing too loud this afternoon after all!

I see your point but you just can't make comparisons like that. At a risk of stating the bleeding obvious football and cinemas are two very different things.
