Thracian Posted 27 March 2008 Posted 27 March 2008 Get him as skipper for the day. I'd agree with that.
Monk Posted 27 March 2008 Posted 27 March 2008 I like his side beard. Kudos to Stears this season he has been a much improved player since November last year. He does still back off too much on occasion but I hope he has a solid future at the club. He should be 1st choice right back unless we're playing the Holloway 'clown' formation in which no full backs or wingers are required.

filbertway Posted 27 March 2008 Posted 27 March 2008 Chris O'Grady - 12 goals in 46 matches for Rotherham in his first full season. Strong, fit, willing to learn. He might not have been the final answer but he would have been a better choice than Carl Cort/Mark DeVries and probably Matty Fryatt too early this season, albeit it from the bench. We sold him short really. Fryatt at walsall Appearances 49 (21) Goals 27 That is over 1 goal every 2 starts in the league. 1 goal every 2.6 appearances ------------------- O Grady at Rotherham. Appearances 46 (5) Goals 13 Just under 1 in every 3 starts. 1 goal every 3.9 appearances. I'm not sure, but was Fryatts also in a higher division?

He's had a lengthy period of injury since then and has never really looked like regaining Championship form if he ever was going to be prolific at that level. It's like looking up how many goals Jimmy Floyd-H scored for Chelsea at his peak. Fryatt's tally this season has been three in, what 30 appearance, that's one in 10!. Last year four in 34. Fryatt's goals return has been awful, and I mean awful, for over a season and a half. I'm honestly as disappointed as anyone else that it's turned out that way but at least I'm prepared to acknowledge the fact instead of burying my head in sand.
Father Ted Posted 27 March 2008 Posted 27 March 2008 Players who leave LCFC are either too good for us: Lineker, Heskey, Piper @ the time, or not good enough: Branston, Duffield, O'Grady.I can not stand this belief that Stearman is a wonderful player! Have I been watching a differant player over the last 4 years? He is distinctly average to very bad. He does not have the capacity physically, technically or mentally to play at premiership level consistantly. for god's sake he struggles with us. He has been given chance after chance because he is local and young. Well he is a seasoned pro after 100 apps and should not be defended after such poor form overall in a LCFC shirt. Players like O'grady always gave all for the shirt and I could never say a bad word about him as he always tried eben tho he was not technically good enough. I would swap an O'Grady every day of the week for a Stearman who does not do it. When he is confident he plays very well and certainly Premiership quality but when he is low in confidence he is utter S*ite.

It wasn't in defence of Fryatt, his form in the championship is woeful and I think he probably needs to step down a level. I was just pointing out, that even a player like Fryatt can score in the lower leagues and 13 in 45 odd games for Rotherham really isn't that good and is definately not worthy of playing for a championship team. People say our strike force is good, but in reality. We have fryatt and Dj who are probably good league 1 players, Howard who is an average-good championship striker and Hume who is an average championship striker. We've not actually got someone who I would be confident of sticking the ball in the net given a 1 on 1 chance or a real good chance in the box. Oh yeh, nice one stears, keep it up At this rate he could go on to be one of Leicester highest capped players...
Jack Posted 27 March 2008 Posted 27 March 2008 When he is confident he plays very well and certainly Premiership quality but when he is low in confidence he is utter S*ite. He is shite. Don't know how you can say he is premiership quality, I for one have never seen him show this quality
Webbo Posted 27 March 2008 Posted 27 March 2008 When everybody else was slagging him off I always believed in him Well done Stears.
Thracian Posted 27 March 2008 Posted 27 March 2008 When everybody else was slagging him off I always believed in him Well done Stears. Excuse me.
Raj Posted 27 March 2008 Posted 27 March 2008 When everybody else was slagging him off I always believed in him Well done Stears. But he is still crap.
Kilworthfox Posted 27 March 2008 Posted 27 March 2008 When he is confident he plays very well and certainly Premiership quality but when he is low in confidence he is utter S*ite. I have seen nothing to suggest Premiership quality
Uncle Albert Posted 27 March 2008 Posted 27 March 2008 I have seen nothing to suggest Premiership quality Don't worry I have.
Joe. Posted 27 March 2008 Posted 27 March 2008 Yep, well done to Stearman. But I don't really give a shit about appearances to be quite honest. Many of these 100 appearances have been unacceptable for Leicester City and for that he deserves no congratulations. But being fair, he has bounced back superbly since Ollie's bollocking and he deserves credit for that, I just hope he keeps it up and I'm sure he will. Premiership quality though? I'm not so sure yet at all...
Daggers Posted 27 March 2008 Posted 27 March 2008 I have seen nothing to suggest Premiership quality He'll not be needing it in Division 3 anyway.
filbertway Posted 27 March 2008 Posted 27 March 2008 Miserable bastards With all the unstability around the club I think it's nice that we've got someone who we've had playing for us over 100 times.
Daggers Posted 27 March 2008 Posted 27 March 2008 With all the unstability around the club I think it's nice that I've played with myself over 100 times. They say it's good to share...but, really...
Daggers Posted 27 March 2008 Posted 27 March 2008 Apparently, so I've been told, Milan is a bit of a willy puller too...
Kilworthfox Posted 27 March 2008 Posted 27 March 2008 Apparently, so I've been told, Milan is a bit of a willy puller too... What does Paul Aldridge do @ Lcfc?
Kilworthfox Posted 27 March 2008 Posted 27 March 2008 Having thought about Dicky's achievement of 100 games this just goes to show how magnificent David Beckham's achievement of 100 Full England International caps really is. Beckham pure Legend , but no Gary Lineker
