lildave3 Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 how the hell can you justify giving him a 3? fair enough he wasn't great but he far from the worst player, worked hard and linked up well with Howard, certainly better then Campbell was his last few games If he wasn't then who the hell was?
Jimmy Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 If he wasn't then who the hell was? Henderson - his lack of command of his area would of cost us against a better side, today was the 1st time I thought we missed Alnwick
Fox You Forest Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 If he wasn't then who the hell was? He was probably the worst player but a 3 ? A 5 for Effort alone surely.
Legend_in_blue Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 If he wasn't then who the hell was? I'll be blowed if I know! Someone on here will be starting a Fryatt appreciation thread next. Face it people. He is not good enough.
lildave3 Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Henderson - his lack of command of his area would of cost us against a better side, today was the 1st time I thought we missed Alnwick I don't agree. I think he did well enough today, made a couple of good punches, claimed balls that came near him.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Everyone played fairly well today in my opinion. The strikers are very fortunate that Hendrie got the goal before half-time and eased the pressure on them because the point-blank finishing was pretty poor yet again. Howard held it up well though and Fryatt worked hard. I think we play better without Clemence to be honest. Just a word for Stearman and Mattock too, who today both looked excellent going forward and were key to a lot of our attacks - while still keeping a clean sheet and looking reasonably composed at the back.
Jimmy Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 I don't agree. I think he did well enough today, made a couple of good punches, claimed balls that came near him. there were a number of times he should of come, claimed the ball and killed the danger but he stayed routed to his line, it was especially noticeable at the end of the game when they were loading the box and it was crying out for him to be decisive and clear the danger and he didn't move, a better side then Scunny would of at least equalized
The Stig Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 I don't agree. I think he did well enough today, made a couple of good punches, claimed balls that came near him. Correct. Even the ones he didn't catch he punched more than effectively. Nice to see him in such good form.

Jimmy Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 The things your talking about could just have easily been Kisnorbo's fault, As for the second part thats just guess work. Wrong, when it comes to crosses it is the keepers job to decide weather or not to claim the ball, Kisnorbo has nothing to do with that, Henderson was far to reluctant for large periods, which baffles me as when he does come he invariably gets the ball. there were several crosses where he should of come out and claimed the ball and killed the threat dead, he didn't which puts more pressure on the CB's as they can't be sure when he is or isn't going to come and deal with the cross. Basically they know Alnwick will come for almost every cross and can adjust accordingly, with Henderson your never sure, he needs to have the confidence to come and get most of the crosses and if necessary be willing to take out a team mate if they get in the way to ensure he gets the ball, a side from his kicking that is his biggest weakness and more ruthless sides WILL exploit that
Jimmy Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 as for Fryatt I do think we should sell him in the summer as it simply hasn't worked for him here, I do like him but I think it's in the best interests of him and us for him to leave, I don't think he is good enough for the hero worship he receives or poor enough for the abuse given to him by many people of on here either

That is the difference between a Premiership keeper and a Championship keeper.
Joe. Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Well done boys. Henderson 6- Did fine when called upon really, can't grumble with his performance. Stearman 6- Not one of his greatest games today, he looked a bit dodgy to me but he improved second half. Kisnorbo 4- What was he doing today? Very poor for his standards, indecisive and poor play with the ball at his feet McAuley 5- Another who had an off day. Some of these ratings may look poor for our back four but I think they're justifiable. McAley was also fairly poor today but better than Kisnorbo Mattock 6.5- Much more assured performance at left back than I've seen him have for a while. He joined in attacks well and defended reasonably well. Bell 7- Not the greatest of first halves but he was far better in the second half. We've missed a proper winger and I think he's our solution. He made life difficult for the full back and got his crosses in. Solid debut. Oakley 6- Looked to drive the team on, a few wayward passes but generally a good game. Weso 5- Not one of his better Leicester performances. I was glad to see him in the team today but I thought he had a poor game. Hendrie 8- Another great performance from him today, and he grabbed our goal. A must buy surely. Howard 6.5- Won the majority of headers which generally ended up at a Leicester player. Very unluckly not to score first half, him and Fryatt linked up very well. Fryatt 7- I'll be the first to admit I'm not the Fryatt fan many people are. But today he looked a totally different player, worked his arse off to great effect for the team. Definitely should have scored and his finishing wasn't the greatest but a good game.

Disagree with that completely. Where were you today anyway?
isaidno Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 My marks would be similar to Joe's . I can't believe people are marking Weso & Oakley so highly.
Joe. Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 My ratings are totally different to most people's. I can't believe Kisnorbo and McAuley have got such high ratings today. Normally I'm full of praise for these two but I thought today they were both defensively poor. Same for Stearman as well. We looked a shambles at times with marking etc and I just didn't like it. And I must have missed something with Weso

And I must have missed something with Weso I agree with Kisnorbo and Mcauley - they were shocking. But Stearman had a good game And Weso was solid and also made the tackle that led to the goal
Micky Ruddle Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Henderson - 6 - Hardly any trouble. Stearman - 7 - Decent. I enjoyed his runs down the wings, and showed a bit of skill now and again. Kisnorbo - 6 - Not his usual self, but cleaned up the crap. McAuley - 6 - Fairly good game. Mattock - 7 - Ollie made a mistake in replacing him with Clapham. Love the guy. Bell - 7, pushing 8 - Good debut. Hopefully not a one off. Like to see more of him. Oakley - 7 - Breath of fresh air to the club. Again, bossing the midfield. Good challenges, and good runs too. Weso - 7 - Yep. Done good this boy. Hendrie - 8 - Class goal. Good performance, hit with the fans. Another good game. Fryatt - 6.5 - Not scoring. But did alright. Needs to take his chances Howard - 7 - Won the headers again. Done enough to get a 7. Subs Clem - N/A Bruno - 6 - Yeah, he's not having a bad season. Decent game when he came on. Laczko - 5 - Didn't see much of him. Maybe a bit of a harsh rating.

And I must have missed something with Weso That's what happens when you don't stand with us for a game. Must say I saw it completely different from where I was. Weso's determination and grit to win the ball all over the park eventually earned us a goal and it's that I feel we've missed from our midfield. Oakley does it to an extent but likes to get forward a little more than Weso. Kisnorbo and McAuley however is something I do agree with you on. I hark on about it a lot, but again today their distribution was again poor and it sets a tone for us for the rest of the match. Not something we need.

And I fear it's already starting to affect Mattock, twice today he had the perfect outball to Hendrie 20/30 yards further up the pitch and wide left yet he chose to hoof it up to Fryatt/Howard and on both occasions we ended up having to defend the counter attack because neither Fryatt or Howard won the ball.
Candidcamera Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Well done with the win -that was all that mattered today. Pretty poor game IMO. Stears and Mattock worth the entrance fee. Hendrie the difference between the teams tho' Bell did well. Hendo 5 Stears 8 McAuley 6 Kisnorbo 6 Mattock 7 Bell 7 Oakley 6/7 Weso 6/7 Hendrie 7 Howard 5 Fryatt 6
FleckneyFox Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Henderson - 7 - He did his job was a calm presence. Stearman - 7.5 - Didnt put a foot wron got forward to support Bell. got an assist McAuley - 7 - He did good, aerially fantastic Kisnorbo - 6.5 - didnt think he had a great 1st half, mix up with Hendo and lost his man a couple of times, better 2nd half Mattock - 7.5 - Some nice touches like Stearman got forward well, dealt with Weston well. Bell - 7 - Decent debut did well breaking on the right but he was up against a 38 year old! Crossing wasnt very accurate Oakley - 7 - Controlled the game, broke a couple of times in midfield, started a couple of good moves with his passing Wesolowski - 6.5 - Didnt notice him to much attacking but got stuck in with his tackles and looked enthusiastic. Hendrie - 7.5 - Brilliant touches, got the goal and oozes passion Get Him in £££££ Howard - 6.5 - I still think hes a lazy shit, he dont close down or run for balls but a couple of decent efforts Fryatt - 7 - always closed the keeper/defenders down was denied a goal by a class save. Clemence - 6.5 - He looked decent N'Gotty - 6.5 - A dubious header back in to our box but a couple of decent clearences at the end Laczko - 10 -
Mikey Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Hendo - 6 - Easy day really. Stearman - 7 - Solid 100th start. Mcauley - 7 Solid, passing poor. Kisnorbo - 7 - Good performance, won most things in air and floor. Passing poor. Mattock - 7.5 - Brilliant defensively and attacked well. Bell - 7.5 - Good debut. Played the simple ball very well, also not afraid to take his men on and get a good cross in. Oakley - 7.5 - Him and Weso bossed the much poorer S****hrope midfield. Weso - 7.5 - Same as Oakley. Hendrie - 8 - Solid and neat touches, would have been a 7.5 if it weren't for his classy finish. Fryatt - 6 - Decent control, but missed a hat full and took too many touches and tried to be too clever for his standards. Howard - 8 - MOTM - Won everything in the air, and did brillaintly on the floor.
Daggers Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Solid at the back, dull in midfield and hopeless up front. Hendrie played well, Bell had a good game overall and Clemence raised the tempo in midfield until he went off again. Howard offers little, Fryatt is dogshit. Thought Weso looked like a player out of match fitness. All in all - it was a team we should have murdered because they were so bad, but we didn't. Three points in the bag is good but it doesn't cover up the fact that Holloway still hasn't discovered how to make this squad play football.
Thracian Posted 30 March 2008 Posted 30 March 2008 Henderson: 7 Did all that was necessary with complete competence. A clean sheet is always praiseworthy. Stearman 7.5: A hand in the goal and another excellent all round contribution. Kisnorbo 6.5 (Solid if largely untested at the back. If only we'd stop letting him take free kicks) McAuley 6.5 (Another who made a steady contribution to a clean sheet) Mattock 6.5 (One particularly good sortie forward and a solid general display). Bell 7.5 (Proper footballer. Positive. Showed an ability to beat his man and picked out a man with his crosses instead of just hitting them over hopefully. Played a part in the goal too. My kind of player if he can keep it up.). Hendrie 8 (Vital goal, brilliantly taken. Played himself to a standstill. Always looking for a telling pass) Oakley 7 (Busy and constructive) Weso 7.5 (Lacked a little sharpness but his prompting and support did so much to establish our ascendancy. Made the tackle that led to the goal.) Howard 8 (Won everything in the air and laid the ball off intelligently to various support players. Close to a goal himself and a real handful for S****horpe) Fryatt 6.5 (You have to mean it with headers from five yards. Deserves credit for getting into golscoring positions but simply failed to take some good chances). Subs: Clemence 0 (Should never have been introduced and had a negative impact for the short time he was there) Bruno 6.5 (Help restore our stability and helped thwart such belated threat as Sunthorpe posed, which wasn't a lot). Zsolt 1 (Made very little impact in the short time he had to mainly close people down).
