Arsene Wenger

What a fookin Wenker!

Diaby gets sent off and rightly so, as he took Steinssons standing leg late rather than the ball, and Wenger stands there shaking his head in disagreement.

Against Birmingham you could not shut him up in his quest against Taylor, in what was a very unfortuneate incident for all.

Both were attempts to win the ball which were late and deserved the red card, why does he feel to make an issue of everything all the time?

The guy maybe a great manager and spotter of really good foreign kids, but he has no class. I think it's an Arsenal epidemic.

Thought he agreed it was a sending off? Wouldnt have if they had lost though.

If you watch the footage he was shaking his head.

After the game he said it was correct. What I am on about is that in the heat of the moment he just cannot help himself and lose the " were Arsenal and your all wrong and against us" glasses. Chelsea have similar ones.

what exactly was he shaking his head at you can't be 100% sure can you?

maybe instead of it being about the sending off maybe he was shaking his head at the fact Diaby had made a tackle like that when they were one nil down and not about the decision.... just a thought like

True it was certainly about that incident.

I know on MOTD they made it sound like Wenger was shaking his head at the players reaction but that's the easy option imo if he disagreed with the sending off surely he would have been more aggressive running out, shouting, waving his arms and all that but he just stood looking really pissed off which imo learns more towards anger at his own player

I think in the heat of the moment in such a huge game for them it's fairly restrained for him to just shake his head like that. Of course the MOTD cameras dwell on it to make a big thing out of nothing but it was absolutely nothing compared to Chelsea haranguing the referee every other week. At the time you don't get the benefit of a replay, it's just a quick tackle and then suddenly a red card so he might not have realised it was a high tackle at the time.

i'm pretty sure Wenger was shaking his head at the decision. He wasn't very sporting when admitting it was a red after either. 'A defensive tackle, fractionally high' etc - it was as bad as Taylor's

Posted

He did attempt to defend it in his interview, but I think he knew the deal with the tackle to be honest.

Credit to Arsenal, they played the football they know best when they were losing and it paid off, although they did get a little lucky, Van Persie missed a decent chance not long before.

That's the sort of win that can give you some momentum, although I still think they're out of it.

What I thought was sh*t was that he said his player 'had no intent to cause injury' yet on the Taylor incident he claimed he should be kicked out of football.

Whilst I agree that the Arsenal player had no intention to cause injury, making such a statement after the game confirms the double standards that exist within the Top 4 mentality.

I find it interesting Wenger is the only manager who seems to get criticised on here for attacking referees and decisions. It's like your all pretending he's the only one who does it.

Is it really? :dunno:

Fergie's took a bit of flack on here lately, as have other managers in similar threads.

All managers do it. Holloway does it, Wenger, Ferguson, even Coppell i imagine does it.

It's just pure frustration, because they've done so much preparation for a game before a referee ruins it.

Sometimes their wrong, but everyone is human.

I love Wenger for it, and who's to no that he wasn't shaking his head in disbelief, at Diaby?

All things being relative, no one else gets half the flak Wenger gets on here, every time he says something slightly controversial there’s a thread on here, he even gets crucified for statements he's retracted and now, shaking his head!

The shaking head thing is ridiculous to be honest, nobody knows what that's about. But when you've got an opinion of someone, bias can shine through!

Wenger is one of the best, obviously. Some of his comments are crazy, but I don't think he was in the wrong on Saturday.

This is ridiculous.

Even if he was shaking his head at the decision... how many times (not often, but sometimes) do us lot at the Walkers and away grounds shake our heads and shout abuse at referees and linesmen for making decisions that when we get home are clearly justified via the use of television replays?

And besides, like previously said, he could have just been shaking his head at Diaby, and the fact that his gameplan had been ripped apart.

Bollocks!

Did you not hear him after the game? He said it was a definate sending off and a bad tackle..

Your just clutching at straws in an attempt to abuse Mr Wenger

Yes, he claimed that Taylor should be kicked out of football.

However you seem to be neglecting the fact that he retracted it a couple of hours later, and that it was quite clearly said in the heat of the moment after seeing the worst leg break since David Busst.

A moot point really.

The interview I saw he said that he couldn't argue, so basically he admitted it (fair play to him)

but he still managed to get a dig in about his player not going in with any intent to cause injury.

I think its good that he admitted it, but there really was no need to make a comment that is clearly directed at Taylor and his 'intentions' of injuring Eduardo.

For me, they were both just late and clumsy challenges, virtually identical after viewing them several times so no complaints about sendings off.

As for the Head shaking, that could have been about anything, the challenge, the red card, the fact that the Bolton lad was screaming then he stood up to walk off the pitch, Pat rice could have asked him if he fancied a coffee!! Unless you were on the bench you will never know

Im not neglecting that fact at all. I think that Wenger was quality for retracting it, he still said it though and he still made a point about his player not going in with intent.

Maybe he was just making the point before other Managers jumped on the 'Arsenal are so dirty' band wagon :dunno:
