Bert Posted 30 March 2008 Posted 30 March 2008 With just under a week to go, i thought i might as well start a thread, all the usual tripe in here.
Maybes Posted 30 March 2008 Posted 30 March 2008 With just under a week to go, i thought i might as well start a thread, all the usual tripe in here. Oi....I was about to do this. Top 5 places being paid at Bet365 Paddy Power Boylesports
Uncle Albert Posted 30 March 2008 Posted 30 March 2008 Chelsea Harbour 20/1, I am going to put a good £10 boys on that.
Head Honcho Posted 30 March 2008 Posted 30 March 2008 Point Barrow 20/1 and Bewley's Berry 18/1 with Betfair are the two I have my eye on at the moment.
Maybes Posted 30 March 2008 Posted 30 March 2008 Chelsea Harbour 20/1, I am going to put a good £10 boys on that. Haha. My mum pointed that one out and Vodka Bleu. Its just a lottery to be fair.
Sparky Posted 30 March 2008 Posted 30 March 2008 Chelsea Harbour 20/1, I am going to put a good £10 boys on that. i also like the look , the notw tipped it today though so doubt it will be 20s for long
Ric Flair Posted 1 April 2008 Posted 1 April 2008 Mr Pointment is getting plenty of thoughts about irrational bets from me. Simon looks almost tempting as well, backed it last year and was going very well until about 5 fences to go.
BoneHead. Posted 1 April 2008 Posted 1 April 2008 You can be the worst jockey/horse on this earth but if you have the look on the day you can win the Grand National, thats why im a bit wary of beting on it
Raj Posted 1 April 2008 Posted 1 April 2008 Is Red Rum still around??? In all my years of petty gambling(about 15 years!) ive only won once o the National and that was aout a tenner!!! Still gets you going though....helps if you win now and again!!! Good Luck all!
AoWW Posted 1 April 2008 Posted 1 April 2008 Hmmm, bit early still really but there are a few runners that have caught my eye . I usually do alarmingly well on the National considering it's just a lottery really - so I've a reputation to uphold! Quite like the look of Comply or Die but a bit too fancied at the moment to make any serious money on. Chelsea Harbour 20/1, I am going to put a good £10 boys on that.Ran very well at Punchestown. Can see it being bet on just coz of the name though. Really fancy Tumbling Dice as a bit of an outsider. Not sure why, just a hunch that I may have to investigate in more detail so I can justify my theory! Does anyone know of a website that has pics/clips of the horses? I like to seem em 'in the flesh'(ish) but don't wanna hang on until just before the race.

Try the Racing Post website they may be able to help! Or google the horse names! I myself shall be going (Work corporate day out) and will be backing; King Johns Castle Simon DArgent Fundamentalist.
Joe. Posted 1 April 2008 Posted 1 April 2008 Pffft Joe's Edge can **** off. Favourite last year my arse.... I'm thinking Hedgehunter or Simon. Think I'll stick mine on those two unless some other horse sways me late on.
Alexikokopops Posted 1 April 2008 Posted 1 April 2008 What's the most ridiculously named horse? I'm putting my money on that one.
Joe. Posted 1 April 2008 Posted 1 April 2008 http://www.grand-national-guide.co.uk/gran...nal-runners.php List of runners here.
Simi Posted 2 April 2008 Posted 2 April 2008 I'm going for Simon. Why the **** not. He's got an awesome name.
Joe. Posted 2 April 2008 Posted 2 April 2008 I'm going for Simon. Why the **** not. He's got an awesome name. I'm neglecting Joe's Edge this year. The old name trick just doesn't work... I am however going for Simon even though it has a blatantly shit name.
fox123 Posted 2 April 2008 Posted 2 April 2008 Only problem I see with backing Simon would be the weight 11st 7lb over 4 miles is alot considering the favourite is nearly a stone lighter. Saying that Simon will still be backed by me but e/w
