SantiagoFox Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 But everyone knows it's illegal to stand but continue to do so. Yet again another law created as a result of the hooligan problem when for years people have for one reason or another ventured on the pitch in a spirit of celebration or protest. Yet there still some people that view those twats as some sort of a heroes. It is not illegal to stand. It is one of the ground regulations. I for one do not view our law makers as heroes.
Moreton Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 Whinge Whinge Whinge. Some people had a nice day out despite the poor result. Pity you were't one of them. Yeah what a shame. We had a nice day but General Lee sat there huffing a puffing
davieG Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 It's not 'illegal' to stand. Sorry Mr Pedantic. I would venture to say that 30+ people watching the game on the stairs whilst standing is illegal in the context of health and safety regulations, my question still stands (no pun intended) was the guy on the pitch doing anything more dangerous than those who were allowed to remain standing on trhe stairs.
SamL Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 Yeah was awesome losing 3-0 and taking another step to league 1 Some fans think football is all about atmosphere and standing up. I rather Leicester won then taking my shoes off and singing songs about us winning the league.Grow up you moron. To be fair, we'd all love us to have beaten Sheffield United and Colchester, but we didn't. I, like many others, go to football to enjoy myself and have a laugh. I don't see sitting down and moaning about yet another poor performance enjoying myself. What is wrong with having a sing song, standing up and having a laugh with your mates? Nothing. Obviously not everybody wants to have a sing song and stand up at football but everybody who did so last week realised it was probably the best away day of the season. You've got to realise people do want to create a decent atmosphere so why moan about it? Let us get one with it. I think you need to grow up and respect other peoples opinions. Are you Kevin Barclay by any chance?
WetFlannel Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 This completely sums up the season. It amplifies how separated everyone at the club is, and how much unrest is present. Nothing is together. What chance do we have of getting out of this situation with the club in this state? Recent results have forced us into a downward spiral, and its reaching rock bottom... fast. If we don't start pulling together, and quickly, I'm very sorry to say that League 1 is where we will be next season, yet I can't see it happening with the mentality that is coming from the club.
davieG Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 It is not illegal to stand. It is one of the ground regulations.I for one do not view our law makers as heroes. Another pendant. Standing is not allowed during the normal course of the game due to the interpretation of existing Health and Safety Regulations therefore in that context it is illegal, the twats I was referring to were the hooligans that caused these regulations to be introduced.

Like I said, if you can't have fun at a football match and accepting defeat there's no point in going. Actually, I'd rather Leicester won last Saturday and saved me getting wet socks. But with winning come's atmosphere and fun. You may aswell try to have fun if your team is losing. Sorry if that makes me a moron

Why is it ok for the entire stand to stand up at half time ? This health and safety craze has gone from one extreme to the other; once it was ok to put small boys up chimneys, now its terrible to stand whilst watching a football match, if it's in the top two leagues.

Well I beg to differ as I believe 30+ people standing on the stairs for a good deal of the second half singing and abusing other fans was highly dangerous especially in comparison to people expelled for standing up for too long after we've scored - e.g after the music has stopped. These guys were allowed to continue yet the guy on the pitch was frog marched in a very agressive manner. It's all so inconsistent as is everything to do with LCFC these days.

General lee Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 Grade A TWAT who couldn't handle his beer?! Yes you are.

Flynny Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 Grade A TWAT who couldn't handle his beer?! Yes you are. Enough of all this. I'd delete these but then people don't know what I'm talking about. General, please stop antagonising people if at all possible. Please? I'll be your best friend!
Simi Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 I think you'll find the not standing law came about because of the Hillsborough tragedy not because of hooligans. Yeah it mainly did, but as the Taylor report shows, that was not the case.

Ok but it just doing my head in that people are calling Mac when they don't know him and the effort he puts into Supporting Leicester.
SantiagoFox Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 I think you'll find the not standing law came about because of the Hillsborough tragedy not because of hooligans. It is NOT the law. All seater stadia came about because of Hillsborough. What they did not legislate for was that some people would still want to stand. I'm a good boy and sit down. I'll happily stand up if someone is blocking my view.
davieG Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 I think you'll find the not standing law came about because of the Hillsborough tragedy not because of hooligans. That just happened to be the straw that broke the camel's back and actually had nothing to do with fans standing. The Taylor report was influenced by the Conservative Government to be used as a means of crushing the rampant hooliganism that was plaguing the game of football at that time that's why they came up with all seater stadium. Hillsborough was caused by allowing too many people into one section of the ground which due to perimeter fencing, put there to try to prevent the worst excessives of hooliganism had no exits other than those that were continuing to let in more fans. Ironically the death toll was made higher because those in charge thought those fans trying to escape from being crushed were hooligans. So I think we can safely say that all seater stadiums happened because of hooliganism, Hillsborough happened due to events/actions put in place to try and prevent hooliganism.
Flynny Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 Ok but it just doing my head in that people are calling Mac when they don't know him and the effort he puts into Supporting Leicester. Most of the judgements we make about people we don't know are based on ignorance. It's just how things work. For all I know he could be the most fantastic bloke in the world, but when he ran out onto the pitch in front of 22,000 people my first thought was "whats that pisshead doing?". Do you know what happened to him yet, anyway? Did the police get involved?

Ultra Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 Some people are praising him but personally I thought he was a ****ing clown. ...Ideal qualities for manager then...
