the_bowman Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 It is sad - I used to watch SMart a lot as a kid and used to think he was great. Still, it's a sign of the world today - and what a sad state it's in. Must be devastating for his family
Webbo Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 I'd sometimes watch him with my kids. He always seemed such a good bloke. What a shocking waste.
Matt Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 RIP. Always used to like Smart, He was abit weird and annoying sometimes but must have gone through some hard times in the last few months. RIP.
Micky Ruddle Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 Very sad to hear. I actually enjoyed watching SMart, and thought he was a good television presenter. I bet Speight's family and Natasha Collins's family are going through hell at the moment.
The Stig Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 I grew up watching Smart and mainly used to watch it for Mark, he was a great presenter and artist. A horrible end to a tragic story. RIP Mark.
Jack Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 I have absolutely no idea who this person is. Presented a kid's art show called SMart on Bbc, similar sort of show to Art Attack.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 Drugs are never a SMart choice. And out of death comes beauty. Rolf's still going isn't he! Didn't Neil Buchanan die recently too? That might have been a dream I had (an actual dream, not a secret desire)
The Stig Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 And out of death comes beauty.Rolf's still going isn't he! Didn't Neil Buchanan die recently too? That might have been a dream I had (an actual dream, not a secret desire) That was a rumour, ITV issued a statement confirming he was still alive.
Alexikokopops Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 And out of death comes beauty.Rolf's still going isn't he! Didn't Neil Buchanan die recently too? That might have been a dream I had (an actual dream, not a secret desire) Neil Buchannan didn't die. It was an entirely fabricated Facebook group and the rumour grew from there.
Tevez Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 And out of death comes beauty.Rolf's still going isn't he! Didn't Neil Buchanan die recently too? That might have been a dream I had (an actual dream, not a secret desire) Was an April Fools joke on facebook which got like 20,000 members.
Joe. Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 And out of death comes beauty.Rolf's still going isn't he! Didn't Neil Buchanan die recently too? That might have been a dream I had (an actual dream, not a secret desire) I heard this too, there was also a Facebook group "Neil Buchanan isn't dead" as well.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 I saw it on Facebook actually and was confused as to why I hadn't known about it at the time. I like the way the BBC have put the Mark Speight story under 'Entertainment'. Nice touch.
Darkzzz_ Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 It shows how fragile the mind is!! I know drugs are "BAD" as one popular figure once said..... But the Mind is a dark and lonely place at times, once you get trapped, there seems no way out!! R.I.P Mark Speight....
Tommy G Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 RIP the mans a Ledgend. Shame coke started all this off. The drugs don't work kids!
Thracian Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 Such a sad episode all round. The whole drugs scene is not something I understand or have been affected by but I do feel for those who are not so lucky - both victims and parents. It's sometimes difficult for people to stand outside the crowd, particularly when "the crowd" wants to suck others in. And it must be harder still in family situations with absent or uncaring parents.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 The whole things horrible, innit? The world and his uncle knew the poor sod was in bits, but no-one could do a thing about it
DB11 Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 Is SMart still on or was it on ages ago and has since finished?
Webbo Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 Is SMart still on or was it on ages ago and has since finished? He won't be filming anymore.
DB11 Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 He won't be filming anymore. They could always get a replacement in
