City Chairman Asks For Final Push

Milan Mandaric has urged the club's fans to get behind Ian Holloway and his team for one final time this season.

City's loyal supporters have snapped up their entire allocation of 2,000 tickets for Sunday's crunch clash with title-chasing Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium (2pm).

The Foxes fate is very much still in their own hands and at the very least they must match third-bottom Southampton's result against Sheffield United if they are to stave off relegation.

Mandaric, however, will not be at present at the match, due to a long-standing family commitment abroad.

He said: "The timing is unfortunate especially as I have not missed a match all season but when I agreed to the engagement several months ago, I never envisaged that we'd be in the predicament that we currently find ourselves in.

"I will have no choice but keeping in touch with events on the pitch from afar but my emotions will be exactly the same as if I was there in the director's box. I will definitely be there in spirit.

"I will want to kick every ball but I still have every faith in Ollie and the players getting the right result we need to stay up.

"We can then put the last nine months behind us and set about building for a bright future, starting next season."

Mandaric has therefore insisted that the Blue Army's backing could prove pivotal once again.

"Considering the disappointing results on the field this season, the passion and support our fans have shown again has been nothing short of remarkable," he added.

"Our supporters have come to the fore when we've needed them most and to have seen 4,000 of you at Barnsley and a sell-out crowd here at the Walkers Stadium last Saturday just reinforces why I bought this club in the first place.

"Each and every one of you deserves a whole lot better but Ollie and the players will need you more than ever on Sunday.

"I'd personally ask those of you travelling to make as much noise as possible inside the stadium.

"I never would have thought we'd be in this position with one game remaining but we are and that's why we must remain united for one final push."

Because he can continue to fleece us if he doesn't get his Premiership millions? :dunno:

If we are going to start reading into quotes then i think Milan is completely satisfied with Holloway and he has all faith in him to win promotion next year

I dunno, reading between the lines, it's obvious what Milan's real message is...

Not gonna be there.... Oh dear, have the rats started to jump already?!?! :(

Spoke to MM's driver before the game Sat, says he was taking the 'boss' to Heathrow after the game, but if we lost he was sticking around.

(I was hoping is was to kick the gargoyle out before Sunday)

Somethings changed his mind

Could this be why he has chosen not to make an appearence :P

Pulis also worked with Foxes chairman Milan Mandaric at Portsmouth, a relationship that ended in some acrimony.

"I know what Milan's like" said Pulis. "We fell out and I had a long fight to get my money, but that was all sorted. We've spoken since and we've been okay."

The most important game in our history and he can't put things aside to attend the game .....

I reckon he's on his way...

its got a ring of "blackadder goes forth" about it :(

Holloway has always reminded me of Baldrick so I can see your point.

hes preparing to sell the club lol

Yup. He's lining up a deal.

Just replace "long-standing family commitment" by "takeover talks".

Obviously, he's been thinking about it for a long time already...

Is there something Milan isn't telling us.

"I know of a chairman that faxes his team to his manager every Saturday morning. Can you believe that? He has to pick it."

Ferguson would not elaborate on which club he was talking about, but praised Man Utd owners the Glazer family for not interfering in football matters.
