davieG Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 ...if nobody takes him that is.I cant see another thread on him. He's proved he can cut it in that league. Should we give him more of a chance next season? If he's still here, as with everyone else they'll all need to be given a chance but all this speculation is pointless until we know what's happening re Mandaric, Holloway etc, etc.
Lovejoy Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Fryatt's record in the last 2 seasons: Season League appearances (sub) Goals 07-08 21(9) 2 06-07 21(11) 3
Corky Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 I think he would be an asset for us in League 1. If we can keep him, hopefully he'll show us what we bought him for, and replicate how he played in 2005/06.

Except we bought him to produce the goods in the Championship not Division 3, all he can prove next season with us is that maybe that's his level
Jimmy Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 his confidence is shot, get rid and play the likes of Chambers, Odhiambo, McKay or Dodds
Brainy Posted 6 December 2008 Author Posted 6 December 2008 No chance. The guy is crap, I would rather see the likes of Dodds, Chambers and Sappleton play. his confidence is shot, get rid and play the likes of Chambers, Odhiambo, McKay or Dodds Fryatt will tear this division apart if he stays and gets himself fit.
Jimmy Posted 6 December 2008 Posted 6 December 2008 maybe someone close to him should point out how the club stuck with him for 2 years while he was totally wank and he should repay us with another year at least
The_Seer Posted 6 December 2008 Posted 6 December 2008 I am fed up of the constant moaning frm so-called football fans. How many of you have ever played football? I am constantly amazed by the way that certian players are singeled out by our fans for no reason, Fryatt being the latest. What more can he do? He has scored 22 goals this season, when was the last time a Leicester player scored that many? He is scoring goals, and at the moment, taking every chance that comes his way. What those statistics that people post about him over the last two years don't say is that he never actually got a good run int he side in that period, he was often played as a winger and sometimes as a central midfield player. His finishing was poor due to being clearly incredibly low in confidence. Confidence is essential for a striker, and to see him now you can see he is full of it and that is why he is scroing goals. he actua standard of defending at League 1 is barely different to what it is in the Championship and Fryatt wills core next season if we are promoited and we give him chances. The argument that he didn't do it last time shows ignorance of football. look at Ricardo Fuller, he failed in his first two attempts int he prem but is scoring now, the same goes for Jason Roberts. It doesn't always happen first time. It is worth noting as well that Fryatt has slimmed down and, for the first time since coming, he has been injury free for a long period. Please get of the poor guys back because if he goes we won't even get promoted. You claim to be supporters so actually support your team and the players

Should we give him more of a chance next season? Fryatt is on Fire. however I think he may go in Janurary please stay matty. please UTF
Rich_Sheffield Posted 6 December 2008 Posted 6 December 2008 No chance. The guy is crap, I would rather see the likes of Dodds, Chambers and Sappleton play. Fryatt is not Crap!!! he is just confidence player. If he could learn to finish (which he is getting better at) he will be superb. how can you say he is crap? + without him he wouldn't top of the league
Lovejoy Posted 6 December 2008 Posted 6 December 2008 No chance. The guy is crap, I would rather see the likes of Dodds, Chambers and Sappleton play. Whooooooosh
lildave3 Posted 6 December 2008 Posted 6 December 2008 It is pretty amazing what confidence can do for a player.
Unabomber Posted 6 December 2008 Posted 6 December 2008 Fryatt will tear this division apart if he stays and gets himself fit. Well said
Darkzzz_ Posted 6 December 2008 Posted 6 December 2008 I was stating earlier to Babylon but maybe mislead him about the point I was making. I wasn't suggesting giving Fryatt a contract in the summer, I would have done exactly what the club have done as well, I would have waited to see what he could do for us at this level and then consider a new deal. My point was that he has done enough now to be offered a new deal, I have been one of the first to question his ability at championship level but I personally believe that under the right manger he could be a asset for us at championship level. I think the lad deserves the praise he has been getting, I am probably still of the opinion that he is a League 1 player but I would certainly give him one final shot at the championship.
Daggers Posted 6 December 2008 Posted 6 December 2008 I am probably still of the opinion that he is a League 1 player but I would certainly give him one final shot at the championship. I don't think anyone could deny him another stab now, the lad has rewritten his contract terms this week.
clazkel Posted 6 December 2008 Posted 6 December 2008 I really hope he stays, great player who we really need, i'm so glad for him that he's scoring loads of goals, maybe in league 1, but he will make it in the championship, he's showing the potential he's got
Lovejoy Posted 6 December 2008 Posted 6 December 2008 In fairness to Fryatt, what more can he do to earn himself another chance at that level?
Corky Posted 6 December 2008 Posted 6 December 2008 In fairness to Fryatt, what more can he do to earn himself another chance at that level? Not a lot. He's turned himself around in spectacular fashion, and looks a totally different player.
dog_4 Posted 6 December 2008 Posted 6 December 2008 he looks quicker and sharper. i think he should stay
Darkzzz_ Posted 6 December 2008 Posted 6 December 2008 I don't think anyone could deny him another stab now, the lad has rewritten his contract terms this week. Amen to that..... Not a lot. He's turned himself around in spectacular fashion, and looks a totally different player. Agreed. To me he certainly looks a tad slimmer, not that he was fat, he also seems to have upped his energy levels.
syston_fox Posted 6 December 2008 Posted 6 December 2008 I think it all depends on how Milan sees the situation. Arguably, Fryatt has reached his Leicester City peak and will never be worth the kind of money that is likely to be offered in January again. In that respect then it may be worth cashing in while we can. On the other hand, is there anyone else within our price range who can score the goals that will see us promoted? In many respects this will be the first indication of Milan's intentions for the future. Long term success or to recover his losses.
clazkel Posted 6 December 2008 Posted 6 December 2008 I hope Fryatt signs a contract, but if he doesn't i'm hoping we will keep him until the summer, i just hope if he wants to go in Jan and we stop him from going, i hope he stills puts the amount of effort in that he has been recently. I'm sure he would. Maybe he will stay till the end of the season and if (sorry when) we get promoted then he will decide to sign a contract and stay at Leicester
