14m is way over the top I think, and they bought the wrong guy; they should have gone for the Zenit guy Pogrebyak or whatever his name. Smells like Rebrov all over again....

From what I saw in the Super Cup Final Pogrebnyak is not up to Pavlyuchenko's standard, and £14m won't seem to bad value when they finally get shot of Berbatov for what is likely going to be at least £20m. I don't think he'll have the same impact as Berba but I'd be surprised if he is another Rebrov.

The only reason Pavlyuchenko got so much playing time at the EUROs was because Progrebnyak was injured. But hopefully for Tottenham he is the right guy. I still think that 14m is a massive sum for someone, who has only played in Russia.

I think that 14m is around the right sum and I think that Tottenham will not regret one bit getting rid of Berbatov. If Berbatov goes to Man City he will be a failure. He is a lazy player and person and Mark Hughes is known to be one of the most anti-laziness managers around so I don't see how that's going to work.

I really hope Pavlyuchenko does well! A great player - plenty of potential, makes great runs and is always in the right place at the right time, will get about 20 chances a game but could only put 1 away, next game he could get 2 chances and score both.
