Samilktray Posted 1 September 2008 Posted 1 September 2008 Man City master league is tempting me now. But I need to be up reasonably early...
shen Posted 1 September 2008 Posted 1 September 2008 If Berbatov doesn't actually move I will not be happy. My guess is that Spurs will want to be able to announce Owen and/or Heskey along with Campbell to appease their fans, who will not be happy with Berba leaving if nobody else is coming in. Well haven't they just signed Pavlyuchenko today already?
LeeCovFox Posted 1 September 2008 Posted 1 September 2008 Well haven't they just signed Pavlyuchenko today already? You make a good point.
Joe. Posted 1 September 2008 Posted 1 September 2008 Spurs have got a good deal out of the Berbatov departure for sure.
Flynny Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 Well haven't they just signed Pavlyuchenko today already? He was Keane's replacement though, really.
Bert Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 Someone get the beers in then. I'll get non-alcoholic becks for you.
Father Ted Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 Robinho has gone to Man City And as for Berbatov, I think that will turn out to be the biggest mistake SAF has ever made in his time at Man U.
Darkzzz_ Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 Wow... I am shocked at the Robinho transfer but it will be good to see how he does in England. Berbatov to Man City was never really going to happen whilst Man Utd were involved. I just hope it works out for them. Quality player but his attitude is in question a lot of the time. I was hoping Tunchev could persuade him to join us.
andyh1884 Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 The Real Madrid President, Calderon, whilst generally coming across as a bit of a tool, was spot on when he said Robinho had moved to Man City for non-sporting reasons. How can he bang on about wanting to join Chelsea to help him dream of being seen as the best player in the world & then sign for a team who aren't playing in the Champions League this season & in all likelihood won't be next season either? Ok, it might not have been helped by Real's stance over selling him to Chelsea, but still seems like an odd choice to me.

I think it is a strange one to be honest, Money is a huge factor in this of course. I really hope he helps Manchester City to achieve things but something tells me it won't be long before he starts sulking, probably weather related sulks as well! I think Real Madrid have done really well out of this (I can't stand Madrid), It is quite ironic actually how Manchester City could have given Real Madrid extra ammunition to buy Ronaldo from Manchester United next summer.
shen Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 He was Keane's replacement though, really. Well, they still got Campbell for a whole season. Could be an adept replacement too. They'll have time to find the right striker now and get him during the January window.
Matt Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 I had to laugh at the Chelsea fan's comment today "Teams shouldn't be allowed to be took over, then ruin other teams deals with players" ...He was being serious aswell.

And on Sky Sports its saying that Man City are going to offer 135m million pounds for Ronaldo in January. He also quoted that he would like to bid for Torres and Fabregas. Oh dear.

Alexikokopops Posted 3 September 2008 Posted 3 September 2008 Sorry mate, ain't got SSN (thanks Mr Branson). I'm going by what's being said on here. Sky decided not to offer it to Virgin any more without making them pay through their arse. Hence the emergence of Dave (and more) as Virgin realised they needed to produce more of their own channels and not rely on Sky so much.
