Thracian - gone?

Recommended Posts

i was wondering why i've been so much calmer recently!

he really rubs me up the wrong way and i disagree with just about everything he says but this place is a better place with him posting his essays every few hours (i'll regret saying that)

He never got over the ThracIan Ormondroyd business; such a shame, it was a lot to live up to, after all.

To me though the place is dominated by a little clique of pals who have extended their influence and control to the administraive block and there really is no point in public response when the Swan Vestas group and associates effectively block debate or make their decisions at my expense

Ah, that'll have been my fault. I dared to close a thread that had descended into the kinda petty bickering that reception-age kids would have been proud of. Clearly, in doing so, I was being cliquey and deliberately blocking Thracian's right to reply in an attempt to ingratitate myself with TPH and secure my place in the Swan Lesta's Orchestra.

As if you weren't.

I know your game Mr.

I'd love to know who the Swan Vestas are.

We're a very talented orchestra. (Whoever 'we' might be?!) :dunno:

I bagsied the violin. I'll happily rent if out for an hour or two to suitably worthy candidates though. I believe TPH has the trumpet (again, avaiblable for a nominal fee) should anyone want to blow their own.

Hes just an old bloke who likes youngsters i wont miss him

what a dumb-assed post, that is the sort of ugly crap that would force anyone away. whatever you think of the bloke, he takes a lot of stick, and takes it on the chin, some of these sort of comments have been way over the top.

i don't know who you are with your hundred and eighty posts, but that is a silly unecessary comment, in a generally light-hearted thread.

play fair.

And thats my input on the matter. Short dirty and too the point. A lot like LD3, who I would love to give a good strumming, if ya know what I mean...

You sicken me.

Did the OP mean it how you interpreted. I read the comment as completely differently - i.e. Thracian likes young players, which we all know he does. If he meant what you assume then fair enough out of line but I'm not 100%

Anyway I suspect this will be like the 'throw my season ticket away' debacle - a temp position with a backtrack and then lots of reasoning as to why its not a backtrack.

I would say I'd miss Thracian's posts but I can't help but think I've heard them all now (even the strange off topic rants). Thinking about it I'd heard them all 2 years ago, only now the chastised chosen men and his chosen men are slightly different. Still arguing over the internet is hilarious, and generally he's at the centre so hurry back (you mad hatter)

the fact is, whether he meant it or not, it was a careless thing to say and easily open to unpleasant misunderstanding... if he meant 'young players', he should be very clear about that, cause saying 'youngsters' is way more sinister... none of us here would want to be perceived as a kiddy fiddler, but this is the sort of thing that could stick, granted thrac doesn't make life easy for himself, the youth team have been a footballing treat and cruelly overlooked, i can understand his frustration, but i think soem of the snide digs on this matter are in poor taste, and a disgrace to this, largely, fine and respectful board.

I, for one, didn't think it was intended to make him sound like a 'kiddie fiddler'.
