My laptop. Paid the best part of £600 for it in september of 09 before uni and it's been going to shit ever since about christmas of the year I bought it.

It's now at a ridiculous stage where I have to tape the charger in place so it keeps charging properly, videos don't work half the time, the soundcard fooks up if I play music at the top volume and very recently, the power has just cut out and stopped me from being able to start it up for a few hours.

FYI it's an acer.

I go through about 5 chargers every year lol. They just seem to stop working. I had an Acer from last xmas to this November, but overnight it burnt out, melted all the plastic inside and out. Was under my sofa also, so lucky it didn't catch fire.

Make sure your charger is the right voltage, i had this problem you have to keep wiggling the charger around for it to work.

It's not the charger that's the problem though, I think it's the port in the laptop.

I had this problem for ages and sent off for a new charger last summer but the problem has never stopped. Sent my laptop off to acer and they said it was the battery which didn't come under the warranty because it's a separate part :angry:

I thought it was the charger port for ages aswell, trust me it isnt. As long as the charger port is touching the charger it isnt the port.

It's a common problem with laptops.

The port itself may be fine but the solder or wiring just inside that connects the port itself to the inner workings of the laptop may have come loose.

I had the problem with my last laptop.

Nah, not an option, enjoy it too much.

No pain, no gain. :D

Try pouring freezing water over your head, that should help at least. lol
