maddog Posted 14 June 2008 Posted 14 June 2008 Who do you rekon will be our manager announced on Monday or Tuesday according to Milan. Not who you want, whats your feelings, who's your hunch on who Milan will be announcing. Lets hope it's the right man.
The Stig Posted 14 June 2008 Posted 14 June 2008 Who do I reckon? Not a clue. This club is more unpredictable than Harchester United. How the hell are us fans supposed to know what's going to happen. Who do I want? 1st choice Steve Mclaren but highly unlikely. Realisticly Davies. In a time like this we need experience.
SamL Posted 14 June 2008 Posted 14 June 2008 I think we can safely say it won't be Ince and I hope it's not Gregory. Wouldn't mind Grayson though.
lildave3 Posted 14 June 2008 Posted 14 June 2008 Why is Ince even a poll option? Are you not aware who actually made this poll?

Daggers Posted 14 June 2008 Posted 14 June 2008 Anyone voting for McClaren needs to step outside for a minute and have a serious word with themself.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 14 June 2008 Posted 14 June 2008 Anyone voting for McClaren needs to step outside for a minute and have a serious word with themself. I voted for McLaren, although that was more in desperation and hope than anything. I just din't want it to be Gregory. I really thought, for a minute, that Milan might get it right this time. Howver, the fact that he cannot reveal both names suggests to me that one of these candidates may still be in work. (Please Grayson!)
Mr Happy Posted 14 June 2008 Posted 14 June 2008 Now that Ince has definately been ruled out and Blackpool have stonewalled our approach for Grayson I'd still like to see my other top three choice manager Davies as next gaffer.... but I have a horrible feeling we'll end up with Gregory

(Please Grayson!) Are we talking about the same McClaren who was clueless and lucky in equal measure for Middlesborough and simply clueless for England? A bloke who inherited a decent youth set-up and had a signing come good for him. Does anyone remember how shockingly bad his tactics were in their cup games? That said, he'll never work in the game again unless he finds a stupid 3rd or 4th Div team chairman devoid of options. Oh - that could well be us. Shit.
Phlashman Posted 14 June 2008 Posted 14 June 2008 I too voted for ex boro bolding brolly lover. Considering what he did with Boros he the best of any options on offer, even Billy Davies. I think he could do very well here, once we get over what happened with england while he was in charge I think he could take us a long way.

The job he did at Boro was average, and he didn't do it for England, but he cannot take all the blame for that fiasco. I do feel that he could cut the mustard at League One level, altough I'd prefer Grayson.

Lets hope it's the right man. Some people seem to have missed the point of the poll. I obviously voted for John Gregory.
MikeyT Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 I am kinda hoping its Mcclaren to be honest. I see on the voting that its almost a dead heat on Mcclaren and Grayson, with Grayson in the lead! I'll just be glad when this managerial appointment is over with so we can focus on getting some quality players into the club!
skinnydipper Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 I just can't get excited about this next managerial appointment. It's a bit like a car crash waiting to happen.Perhaps it's a symptom of where we are that I'm unable to get excited by any of the names apparently in the frame , my thoughts on this being governed by "I hope we don't get ....." rather than "it would be great if we got ....." Bracing myself for the inevitable depression that will follow the announcement. Any spare room in the chill out tent?
Daggers Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 Out of a bad bunch there is only one who gives a flying **** about this club, who remotely consider it and has combined it with a demonstration that he is able to do the job. Unless someone unmentioned is connected with the job it simply has to be Grayson.
Who ate all the pies? Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 I went for McClaren as he's exactly the sort of manager Milan has been looking for. 1. Big name. 2. Most likely won't hang around too long if good or crap. 3. (In theory) It's a huge boost in publicity for the club and Milan. On a personal note I would have loved Grayson or Ince, but McClaren would be a really interesting appointment with a lot to prove.
davnet Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 I would like to see Grayson back here but i have a feeling it could be Bryan Robson? Has his name come up yet???? Just a thought!
