davieG Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 Anyone ruling out Joe Royle? Boooorrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnggggg
Daggers Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 Talksport were discussing the interest we showed in Ince and said he was right to knock us back because...we are "a managerial cul-de-sac". Tis true.
Joe. Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 I've got an almost certain gut feeling that one of Milan's remaining two candidates is Gregory unfortunately. At the same time I'm sure the other is not Grayson. Joe Royle perhaps? Mike Newell? (please, please, please), Worthington? Even Sanchez? All realistic hopes. But god knows now.

Not much good if you're an atheist
wurmer Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 I'm assuming the 16 half-wits who have voted for Gregory are the Forest & Derby scum that lurk on here sometimes....
Simi Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 Talksport were discussing the interest we showed in Ince and said he was right to knock us back because...we are "a managerial cul-de-sac".Tis true. And it really shows what people will be thinking of us from outside of Leicester. Whether or not Mandaric has been right or wrong to sack managers in the past, we've come to a point where we will be ending up with second rate managers. Which is exactly what Gregory is. I think this is Milan's most important appointment of the all so far. If he gets it wrong now, we'll be looking for a manager half way through a league 1 campagin, leaving us at risk of a complete meltdown in mentality. I'm praying he gets it right for us this time, but as other people have said, we can't be sure of anything.

Ultra Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 Don't bring me into your misery I'm already embracing the Gregory era - roll on the JG years. More like the John Gregory months.. He'd be out by Christmas.
Maybes Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 This job has got John Gregory's name written all over it sadly. Thanks Milan.
SamL Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 I hope theres an announcement soon, I don't like this uncertainty. Please don't let it be Gregory.
Guest Bilo Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 I hope theres an announcement soon, I don't like this uncertainty. Please don't let it be Gregory. I think I'd prefer the uncertainty to Gregory.
davieG Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 If SSN are saying it's down to 2 then I reckon its 2 from Worthington, Gregory or Pearson.
Corky Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 Anyone but Gregory please. I will be so deflated if he is appointed.
Poakey Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 If SSN are saying it's down to 2 then I reckon its 2 from Worthington, Gregory or Pearson. 2 Englishmen they said yesterday. This wasnt mentioned on the ticker,i just switched to SSN on yesterday see if there was any news any they announced it was between 2 Englishmen, both big names in football and he will decide over the weekend. So it wont be Wortho.
Bally Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 I think I'd prefer the uncertainty to Gregory. Agree. Haven't voted yet - can't press the JG button. Of the list & names preference is for Steve McLaren. Not sure Larry or Billy will come so having to settle... that's what we have come to Has anyone heard him on Five Live recently? Am trying to work out if he is still out there or waiting for his big unveiling.........
iancognito Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 I'm assuming the 16 half-wits who have voted for Gregory are the Forest & Derby scum that lurk on here sometimes.... It's who you think it'll be, not who you want. If it was who you want then Mourinho, Wenger, Ferguson, Paisley and Shankly would be topping the lists. As for Bryan Robson being an ambassador for Man United, there's no way he'd say no to another managerial role in preference to staying as a talking statue at Old Trafford. Charlton, Law and co do enough as ambassadors for United. Anyway, accepting a role like that just confirms you're not good enough to be a manager and you've accepted life with the stiffs.
ohmy6od2 Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 I've not read all 60 odd posts, but this is the current situation: Milan Mandaric wants John Gregory to become his new manager. John Gregory is unsure about accepting because he thinks the deal could be bad for both of them, should a couple of results go the wrong way. It's now up to Milan as to wether he tries and persuades him to come.

Is JG on Foxestalk then & picked up on the warm welcome we will give him????
MikeyT Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 Have you never had a fortune cookie? Ah of course, silly me!
