MikeyT Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 Depends on who else is available and wants the job. He might be the best out of a bad lot. Thats actually a very good point. I never thought of it like that!
teblin Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 I still wonder if Gregory is involved but not as manager, in some kind of DOF role to taggs?
Joe. Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 I dont think that is the reason why he will be appointed as Greg's assistant. **** sake, let him have a chance coaching the players then if when he fails then all moan.
Uncle Albert Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 Cheers mate. But surely he deserve's some sort of chance in the club?
chapmanleicester Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 anybody else heard about this? http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A37387065 can't see it being true myself
Tilley Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 Cheers mate. But surely he deserve's some sort of chance in the club? I'm all for giving Walshy a chance, But I have far more respect for Elliott who has started at the bottom, instead of just writing an article in the Mercury & throwin his name in the hat everytime the job came up. Coaching role would be fine, defo not manager though, please.
Leicester_Mad Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 Id go for Beaglehole myself. Who cares if he not proven at this level id rather give an up and coming manager the chance of managing when they know the club really well and have had success lower down with the youth team etc. He cant be that bad if he is NI U19 and 21 manager either. Rather have that than a "proven" manager who is shit!!

Tilley Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 Why? Would you really want Walsh as a coach! Not if I was in charge, no. But it is obvious he will probably take up some role in the club in the near future, so some coaching role.

chapmanleicester Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 i'd have walshy as the man to fire em up before and half time in a match that is about it
Tilley Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 He wont get the Manager's job he will be Gregory's assistant.I have psychic powers. Would you be happy with that?
Tilley Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 Yes. I must say, I would rather have Gregory than Pearson, But this all depends on the availability of Grayson, & obviously if Billy Davies is at all interested, which I'm led to believe he's not. I've prepared myself for Gregory now, so I will be able to accept it if/when it's announced

I suppose at least press conferences would be a giggle. *best impression* "Yes I think I'm ready to pair Stephen Klinsman and James Wipliski in midfield now...."
Daggers Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 I'm piss bored of reading about how people really don't want Gregory or Walshy. Get over it - half of you weren't even ****ing born when he was here, half of you are simply relying on Wikipedia and other people ranting and the other half of you can't count or think logically. Look at the realistic selection. Look at the emptyness in front of us. There next to piss all choice and anyone now left up for the job is much of a muchness so you may as well all get used to it - unless a surprise is sprung on everyone on Friday.

Daggers Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 Wishful thinking on your behalf Daggers, don't ya think. Let's see shall we, I'm a half-full kinda guy...and by half-full I mean fat.

Lillehamring Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 On reflection why would MM, JG & SW all meet in public in Leicester? Surely these negotiations would be done in private, unless it's a done deal in which case why not announce it today? this is the oddest thing about gregory, i can't conceive of any reason why giving him the job should lead to this delay - if it is him, then the sooner he is in place, the sooner the grumblers can get over it and the better the chance he has of doing a good job.
step Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 Nothings is for definite with Milan. He is always breaking deadlines he sets himself and makes himself look like an absolute cock by doing so. At his age and experiance you would have thought that Milan would know the most important thing to do when employing a manager is to just hire someone, it dont matter if the man can do the job, just start someone, and do it now. Thank god Jack does not make any real desisions in life
filbertway Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 It looks like gregory tends to make a good start, then the form dips into mediocrity.

I was at the old County ground when "knocker" Gregory was playing for the cobblers...he was a useless prat then and nothing's changed!
CKB Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 Last few pages i have saw total dirt! Anti climax's, exploading! AND THIS WAS FROM TWO LADIES!! Lisa, Katy...BE ASHAMED!! Anyhow... God i really hope some one (not Gregory, Worthington or Pearson) is appointed on Friday!
Uncle Albert Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 I dont know if anyone has posted this yet. Just a thought... Alain Perrin left Lyon last night. Milans buddy from Pompey, maybe this is the delay.
