this is probably the best post i ever have read on here, i hear pearson has it, think pearson and gregory would do a better job than worthington and wanted souness before holloway got the job. but still the children want to get excited because to them, it well exciting init.

the resources that we have now frank spencer should get us promoted

I very really added that on the end of my post. It's the general feeling in the footballing community that we will be a force in league one no matter what moron we appoint.

Whether or not thats still the case in August after half of our better players have jumped ship is still to be seen.

It's obvious to everybody that Brian Little is the correct choice.

He'd do it for a basic £20k p/a with £5k bonus if promoted.

Which, in Milan's world, means he'd be cheap to pay off.

I love Brian Little

I find it so hard to care about who our next manager is, Manadaric just seems to be attracted to big name managers. Not managers who can actually do a job.

You can't second guess him and we shouldn't even try.

All we know for certain is that it will be the wrong choice and we will have another new manager by the time we play at Elland Road by which time we will be hoping for our first back to back win for 3 seasons! :unsure:

Personally I don't buy it. At the moment most League One managers are fine-tuning their squads and everyone at the respective clubs will know their place. We haven't got a manager or coaching staff or any clue what the squad will look like next season. We're miles behind everyone else, pre-season training starts in two weeks and at the moment it looks like another farce of a pre-season like last year, but for different reasons.

We're a "big club", yes, but what does that count for when half the players will be off like you say.

I think it's fair to say that everywhere else he's been, Megson has done a reasonable job - but at Forest he couldn't arrest their decline. They had a losing mentality and the place was rotten. At the moment I'm convinced the same thing will happen to us. We need decisive action fast and if we're losing half our squad it needs to happen ASAP.

:clap:

Sums up my feelings perfectly.

If the leicester mercury is right and Gregory, worthington and Pearson are the three in line to take the job then show`s how The profile of the club has dropped! I dnt know how mandaric can go on about saying he will not fail in bringing someone in to this football club who is qualified to take us up, Gregory is a Failure! The only job he has been slightly successful is Aston Villa. Pearson Im sorry but im unconvinced doesnt come across as somebody who is a good motivator and can`t be knowledgeable as a manager because southampton was his first taste of that and very short lived it was. As for Nigel Worthington Why go back? If he wasn`t good enough all that time ago what has changed now? The more and more i think about it now considering the Clown`s weve been linked with so far the only acceptable one`s for me are Davies because of his experience, after that perhaps Lambert is A risk but Since we have such a poor quality of managers to choose from if the last 3 is true I would rather take a gamble on him......... Bit of a sorry affair! Mandaric changing his mind about installing a new manager by tue and now by the end of the week! Were just Losing valuable time to the competition, Our new man has a month to install a new system, confidence in our players, get rid of deadwood, sign players, Just learn about the squad in General! 1 month im sorry people but can`t see us getting automatic promotion this season.

FROM THE DAILY MAIL:

Northern Ireland boss Worthington tipped to take over at Leicester - again

By Graham Hill

Last updated at 2:35 PM on 16th June 2008

Northern Ireland manager Nigel Worthington is a late contender for the vacant Leicester City job - only a year after leaving the Walkers Stadium.

Nigel Worthington

On the ball: Northern Ireland boss Nigel Worthington

Worthington is believed to be on a three-man short-list drawn by up Leicester chairman Milan Mandaric who is due to appoint Ian Holloway’s successor over the next 24 hours.

Former Southampton manager Nigel Pearson and ex-Aston Villa, Derby and QPR boss John Gregory are also in the running although Mandaric is not ruling out other candidates.

Mandaric appointed Worthington as caretaker manager at Leicester last year following the departure of Rob Kelly.

However, he did not give Worthington the job on a permanent basis, preferring to appoint Martin Allen.

Mandaric then sacked Allen before giving making Gary Megson manager. Megson left for Bolton but Ian Holloway could not stop Leicester being relegated to the third tier of English football for the first time ever.

Worthington saved Leicester from the drop a year ago but would have to leave the Northern Ireland post if he was to return.

Pearson’s rescue act at Southampton ironically helped to send Leicester down before he lost his job after a boardroom reshuffle while Gregory is a former City coach.

According to the Mercury, there will be a delay in the announcement of the new manager.

http://www.thebluearmy.co.uk/details.asp?k...662008555351631

the question is...why the delay?....

Mandy was waiting for Thracian to finalise his application?

With Scolari going to chelski, Mandy needed a plan b?

:scarf::giggle::whistle:

your thoughts?

Because John Gregory turned us down and Mandy has now approched Northern Ireland, in regards to bringing back Nigel Worthington and before he can return he needs to sort out a compensation package to the Irish FA and that will take the rest of the week whereby Worthington will be named Leicester boss possibly on Friday...again!

who and where does it say john gregory has turned us down?

cheers

Thats what i think! lol

I have no proof of that!

I am surprised at the absence of calls for Walsh to be given the job now.

GIVE WALSHY THE JOB

The delay does sound as if its somebody in work at the moment. I hope Daggers he's offered Ince 800,000 for the year! Though this is as likely as it not being Worthington.

I used to enjoy the feverish activity and hustle bustle of getting a new manager.... Now, thanks to Mandy, it gives me ball ache and fills me with dread... >_<

Is it coincidence that Blackburn have also said they will announce their new manager by the end of the week?

:dunno::dunno:

Yes

:dunno::dunno:

I think that Mandaric believes that one or more of the candidates on the Blackburn shortlist will reconsider us if they fail to get the Blackburn job i.e what we might get after the Blackburn appointment could be better than what we can get now
