The world's most expensive burger - flame grilled Wagyu Beef, topped with white truffles in an Iranian saffron and truffle bun - is to go on sale at a fast food restaurant.

Burger King's £95 sandwich, named simply The Burger, will make Guinness World Record history beating a similarly extravagant American Double Truffle Burger which cost just £65 in 1994.

The world's most succulent Japanese beef is complemented with white truffles, onion tempura prepared in Cristal champagne and Italy's finest Pata Negra prosciutto

Restaurant critics have dismissed the burger as just the latest stunt in a marketing craze which has seen Selfridges charge £85 for a sandwich and Peter Jones, the Sloane Square department store, ask £50 for a cup of coffee pre-digested by a Civet cat.

Well anyone who spends that on a burger is a complete idiot and has no concept for the value of money!

The world gets dafter by the second!

Who in their right mind would pay that amount of money for a burger.

Whoever buys that seriously has got more money than sense.

Imagine like going into the Burger King in town (I know it won't be there) and asking for The Burger, you get it and they say, '£95 plus the 99p for Cola, that's £95.99 Sir' lol

If I was a billionaiire, I would buy one.

I wouldnt, out of pure principal!

Doesnt matter how much money you have, anyone who spends that money on a burger has no value of money and clearly must see money as something to just throw about and have no real respect for it!

Jasper Gerard, The Daily Telegraph's restaurant critic said: "This is just a PR stunt, even more absurd than the coffee costing virtually as much as a semi-detached house in Crewe.

"Burger bars are desperate to move up market as more people question why they are filling their bodies with fast food. But who will really spend £95 in Burger King?"

David Kisilevsky, vice president of marketing at the fast food chain, said: "The Burger is an extension of Burger King's quality burger menu and is aimed at burger aficionados, looking for the ultimate burger taste experience.

"It reflects our ongoing commitment to producing the best quality burgers for a range of different pockets and reinforces our quality credentials."
