Burger King's £95 sandwich, named simply The Burger, will make Guinness World Record history beating a similarly extravagant American Double Truffle Burger which cost just £65 in 1994. The world's most succulent Japanese beef is complemented with white truffles, onion tempura prepared in Cristal champagne and Italy's finest Pata Negra prosciutto Restaurant critics have dismissed the burger as just the latest stunt in a marketing craze which has seen Selfridges charge £85 for a sandwich and Peter Jones, the Sloane Square department store, ask £50 for a cup of coffee pre-digested by a Civet cat. Still prefer a burger or kebab from the Cyprus kebab house though!!!!

Mickey O'Neil Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Saw that load of bollocks the other day!! It's only available in a posh part of London somewhere...not Granby St!! They got a chef to see if it was worth the ££....plank said yes!
Master Fox Posted 20 June 2008 Author Posted 20 June 2008 What the f##k Perhaps they're confusing us with dogs? I know my dog likes to eat cat shit when the mood takes him
MikeyT Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Well anyone who spends that on a burger is a complete idiot and has no concept for the value of money! The world gets dafter by the second!
Zingari Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 civet coffee or kopi luwak. http://www.tiscali.co.uk/news/newswire.php...ian-coffee.html
SamL Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 What a waste of time and effort. I seriously doubt anybody would actually buy that.
DBEightyFive Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 I'm sure someone will buy it just to say they have bought one and to see what it tastes like, ie. if it tastes like £95
Jack Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Who in their right mind would pay that amount of money for a burger. Whoever buys that seriously has got more money than sense.
Shrenchel Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Haha. Pure publicity stunt. What goon that works in BK is going to know how to prepare and cook the world's finest ingredients.
Father Ted Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Imagine like going into the Burger King in town (I know it won't be there) and asking for The Burger, you get it and they say, '£95 plus the 99p for Cola, that's £95.99 Sir'
andyh1884 Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Is that for the meal or is it extra for fries & a drink? I'd expect them to throw in fries & a drink for £95

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 21 June 2008 Posted 21 June 2008 Just go Tj's chicken shish kebabs only £5. The marinade on TJs chicken shish is to kill for.
MikeyT Posted 21 June 2008 Posted 21 June 2008 If I was a billionaiire, I would buy one. I wouldnt, out of pure principal! Doesnt matter how much money you have, anyone who spends that money on a burger has no value of money and clearly must see money as something to just throw about and have no real respect for it!
DB11 Posted 22 June 2008 Posted 22 June 2008 Article continues: Jasper Gerard, The Daily Telegraph's restaurant critic said: "This is just a PR stunt, even more absurd than the coffee costing virtually as much as a semi-detached house in Crewe."Burger bars are desperate to move up market as more people question why they are filling their bodies with fast food. But who will really spend £95 in Burger King?" David Kisilevsky, vice president of marketing at the fast food chain, said: "The Burger is an extension of Burger King's quality burger menu and is aimed at burger aficionados, looking for the ultimate burger taste experience. "It reflects our ongoing commitment to producing the best quality burgers for a range of different pockets and reinforces our quality credentials."
SuperSwede Posted 22 June 2008 Posted 22 June 2008 Article continues: I'd buy, wouldn't even hesitate choosing the bling burger instead of the regular whopper, that's for the disgusting working class.
