Pearson Apppointment

After all the trials and tribulation`s at leicester city we finally have our new manager! Im still in a reflective mood and I am waiting to see what pearson outlines as his priorities for the club/team with promotion being the Blatantly obvious one. Mandaric has hit the nail on the head as I hav mentioned before our squad has developed a negative mentaility and we still have a lot of rebuilding to do, so I would be very surprised if pearson isn`t going over the squad right this minute looking at our strength and weakness`s. Pearson has got to act quickly and decide which players he doesn`t want at the club for example maybe the likes of Howard, Dj campbell will be sold to generate some funds to buy players in other position`s and i personally wouldnt lose any sleep at those 2 players leaving the club even though they might be well capable of topping the league one goal charts. I think that he has to go with the Youth we have at the club, the likes of sheehan, King, Mckay, Gradel etc! because at this level im sure they will be capable of making a impression while at the same time bringing in a new mentaility to the team of confidence not negativity.

Undoubtly Mandaric in my opinion has made a big gamble appointing pearson as manager, there are many people who say that he is tatically astute which is something we didnt hav under holloway. My biggest issue will be can he motivate our players, can he install the confidence into players like Fryatt who had a miserable last season, there is undoubtly going to be a lot of ???? against pearson being relatively unproven. To Finish I want to add that i feel If pearson doesn`t succeed then Mandaric surely must see he isnt fit to lead this club forward and we must accept that Money can`t buy success and Perhaps Mandaric will be a victim of his own downfall getting involved where the decision shouldnt be his to take.

I believe he has already said he will go through quite a few managers til he gets what he wants....Im not overly excited about the appointment, but he's only been appointed today let's give him time to at least take a dump in the walkers bowl

Well That`s fair enough him saying he will go through as managers as it takes to find success, but at the end of the day the supporters at this club are King and Mandaric know`s that! so if the worse came to the worse we`d force him out the door! I hope for mandaric`s sake that doesn`t happen..... only time will tell.

Good luck with your consortium

id rather be a clib in league 1 with money than a club in league 1 without.

mm gives us at least the potential to hope for a positive future .as ridiculous as that sounds i know!!

If Pearson doesn't succeed I don't think Milan should sell up but I do think he should step down as Chairman. This would leave the opportunity for someone else to come in and deal with the football side of things leaving Milan to deal with the finance.

well five others have failed to get anything out of him so maybe in Fryatts case the problem is not with the managers but in the player himself

I actually think that League One is Fyatts level, he is a very clever striker but lacks pace for an higher level, if given the chance i believe Matty Fryatt will be our top goalscorer next season!

If Fryatt stays he will be an asset for us next season. It's down to Pearson to get the best out of him. This is Fryatts last chance with us, perform this season or he's out. He's arguably the best finisher at the club so if we can sign some decent wingers then he'll definitely have the service.

I'm prepared to give the lad one last chance. I wasn't too impressed with him last season but I think League One is his level.

And if Pearson turns out to be a good manager are you going to say yes i backed him all the way , good old nigel or are you going to admit you were wrong and know nowt. You say weve taken a big gamble with pearson well in football the only way you achieve sucess it by taking risks, everything milan has done so far has gone wrong but he still has the drive and passion thats why he has achieved so much sucess in is businesses and made so much money. I agree we cant go on forever sacking managers but dont forget megson walked out (thank god) and worthington was only temporary and i dont think rob kelly even wanted to be a manager so lets all get behind milan and nigel who I think will be a good manager and hopefully pick some of our younger players.

Epic fail.

IMO we're at the point where we all know MM got lucky with Redknapp, I mean seriously if hes anything as good as picking his managers he wouldn't be able to organise a piss-up in a brewary!! If MM fires Pearson after 4 games/6 weeks then maybe its time for Milan to move on, that would be almost 1 and a half years in charge with nothing acheived I don't think he could do any better even if he trys getting through another 20 managers! Like finding a needle in a haystack. I mean its not like the managers we've had haven't had money available to them either. So yes MM saved our bacon, kept us in business but theres only so long you can kid yourself that things will get better, 4 seasons in fact, as inevitably we got what we rightfully deserved, relegation. Now its a huge job for Pearson to get us back up, so i'm not going to jump on the stupid bandwagon along with just about everybody else and say 'we'll have an easy season, promotion straight away' this season will be far from easy and if we do acheive promotion it'll probably be through the play-offs. Realistically though if by christmas we're not in the top half of the table then i'd like to know why? We should be trying to at least aim for the top 6, it isn't going to be easy but if life was i'd be rich, famous and the owner of Leicester City FC so we wouldn't be in this situtation

Be loud and be proud. Everybody get behind the new gaffer, the players and more importnatly the club. Lets have our first season outside the top 2 leagues one to remember :scarf::scarf:

He's arguably the best finisher at the club..

Myth. Completely untrue.

For the amount of chances he had, 2 goals in 30 appearances is disgraceful.

:crylaugh: Someone didn't see the Southampton, QPR and Bristol City games, and all the other matches he missed from two yards.

Waste of space.

This Fryatt best finisher lark is starting to annoy me now, what was it, 3 goals from 70 odd shots last season according to the stats on the OS.

I was thinking the same thing. How can you be the best finisher at the club when fcuking Donkey Howard scores more goals than you in half season :frusty:

if you going to say mandaric out at least come up with a viable alternative. Its like saying lets remove the foundations of a house because its not doing its job well but then not replace it. In my view MM is better than the previous board he at least has ambition and funds team improvements.

Well it's about time he started, then. The millions spent since his arrival have hardly brought progress, have they?

Pearson will have to wheel and deal in the summer, the same as any manager would have done if Mandaric wasn't here.

think you are right there, but other clubs seems to want to buy on reputation, so we may get decent money for some players that have been poor here.

Then use that cash to buy younger hungry mabile players and get some pace in the side.

I am reasonably pleased with the Pearson appointment... I heard the interviews on TV and online and I thought he really sounded like he knew what he was talking about and would get the team organised and disciplined... something that I think Holloway didn't do. One thing that might worry me though is that because he hasn't achieved that much in football management terms, he might be overwhelmed by the largeness of this job and might not command the respect of the players... I'd love to be proved wrong and for him to be the next Martin O'Neill though. :)

Good luck to him and lets hope for a great first season in League One! :D:scarf:

I Agree with what you say but as long as i can remember LC have never had a good board i.e. the Shipmans.George.Elsom. they possibly knew a bit more about football than MM but god wernt they tight arses Elsom unknown quanties of cash [No doubt loans ] to PT.

But this manager appointment of Pearson will be a wait and see job MM has dropped 1-2 bollocks but he has put some cash into the club when the previous lot was more concerned with taking.I wonder what the response had been if MM had appointed JG.

The £1m+ we raised through flogging McAuley was a promising start.

If we can raise another £2m or so by offloading Howard, Campbell, Oakley, Fryatt and Clemence (who cost over £5m between them.. ), then that should be more than enough to build a squad for a potential promotion challenge.

I dont think MM will accept just 2 Million for that lot!

Id say £1.5m for Fryatt, Clemence and Oakley and 1 mill each for Howard and Campbell, other than that Pearson might as well keep them and try and get the best out of them.
