Manwell Pablo Posted 11 July 2008 Posted 11 July 2008 So have we got a solid Venue, Date and Time yet?also Squad? Sunday evening don't know what time as we'e waiting on the finalisation of the pitch. Wont know what the squad is until the poll at the top of the forum is finished.
forestrich Posted 11 July 2008 Posted 11 July 2008 A bit of an update, I've just received this message from Loughborough Dynamo Richard Sorry for the delay in replying (work gets in the way some times) Unfortunately we are playing a 1st team game on the back pitch on Saturday 26th and the groundsman is loath to have two games in two days. If he knew what the state of the pitch would be like on that weekend he might re-consider but that decision would not be taken until the Friday / Saturday before your game, which I am sure would be to late for yourselves. I am sorry but we cannot help you out this time. Brian Obviously that'sa bit of a bummer, so plan B needs to be put into operation. Being a Forest fan, plan B tends to not be thought of until plan A fails, so I've not thought of anything yet. Would you guys prefer to play in Leicester or Nottingham? I can certainly book a pitch in Nottingham, but I don't know anywhere in Leicester to do so. Other than that, if anyone knows of another decent pitch somewhere in the middle, shout up, and I'll get on it.

Don't think Im playing if it's in Leicester or Nottingham and on a Sunday, after training it'd take me about 3 hours to get in abd about 90 minutes to get back
forestrich Posted 11 July 2008 Posted 11 July 2008 My mrs is from Loughborough, and is going there tonight. I've sent her on a mission to find a pitch. She says they have pitches in Quorn and some at the Endowed schools or something. I've only ever played at L'boro Dynamo, so am a bit 'fondling in the dark' here. I suppose the quality of the pitch doesn't need to be too grand. Don't the uni have one of those fancy false grass pitches? That could be a good shout.
forestrich Posted 11 July 2008 Posted 11 July 2008 I just spoke to L'boro uni and they have their artificial pitch available from 5.30pm It's £70.40 for 2 hours. She needed payment now, so I said I'd speak to everyone first, then give her a ring and sort it out next week. I'm not sure if people would prefer a grass pitch or not, so I'll see what else I can find out before committing to it.
forestrich Posted 11 July 2008 Posted 11 July 2008 Just to clarify, in case anyone was wondering, this is definitely happening from our end, and by the looks of it from here, definitely happening from your end too. 5pm (ish) on the 27th seems to be the date that everyone has settled on across both boards, so that's the date to work with. I don't want to butt in on your team selection policy or anything but we had a similar thing arise for our game against FC United of Manchester. What we did was run a few 'training sessions' (which were basically kick arounds followed by beer), on a a few Sundays leading up to the match. It gave us the chance to get to know one another and allowed new people to be brought into the fold. When it came to the match day, those who had attended all of the training sessions were given first priority, and things worked back from there. What we also did, and I propose we do it on the 27th, was have rolling subs, like 5 a side. Basically a couple of changes every ten minutes or so. That way everyone constantly felt part of the game, and it didn't matter how many subs we had. Doing this would enable you to name up to about 20 players or so, providing you have a manager to sort it out. As I said though, I don't want to interfere, so feel free to ignore this as if it was a post gloating about League positions! Just thought I'd let you know what we've done in the past.
allard7 Posted 11 July 2008 Posted 11 July 2008 Just spoke to Loughborough College, £72 for 2 hours. well say there is 18 of us and 15 forest then thats 33 so 70/33 is about £2 each on the day, thats brilliant tbh. However astro can be totaly different to grass but im up for it ...
Ashley Posted 11 July 2008 Author Posted 11 July 2008 Like i've said before Thurnby Rangers lend there ground out for about 40 or 50 quid but its probably too far into Leicester for the forest fans?
Flynny Posted 11 July 2008 Posted 11 July 2008 Do the college or Uni, if we bring 35-40 people it'll be 2 quid each. Thats absolutely nothing. Astroturf is skiddy and shit.

Hullfox Posted 11 July 2008 Posted 11 July 2008 About the astroturf right? How do you plead to the charge of sulking when trying to sub you young KF?
Flynny Posted 11 July 2008 Posted 11 July 2008 We know. Hahaha that's basically true, but I'm a darn sight better when I'm not sliding about the place. I know thats true for everyone but especially for gangly clumsy fucks like me.

Flynny has legs like...... ...the fella on the left. Prrft my legs are way sexier. Crouchesque I feel. Not that I'm attracted to Peter Crouch. Honest. ...

Flynny Posted 11 July 2008 Posted 11 July 2008 Having just searched for Peter Crouch on google I withdraw my comments, I much prefer my own legs cheers.
Katy Posted 11 July 2008 Posted 11 July 2008 Having just searched for Peter Crouch on google I withdraw my comments, I much prefer my own legs cheers. ...and how they resemble those in post #267? Crouchy = no Crazy Legs Crane = yes
Flynny Posted 11 July 2008 Posted 11 July 2008 I thought I'd cleverly changed the subject and neatly circumvented that picture then. Thanks a lot.
Katy Posted 11 July 2008 Posted 11 July 2008 I thought I'd cleverly changed the subject and neatly circumvented that picture then. Thanks a lot. Soz, but I have this mental image in my earthquake of a head at the moment that is hard to shift.
Flynny Posted 11 July 2008 Posted 11 July 2008 I shall have to hit the steroids then. When my testicles shrink to the size of peas pumpkins I'll know who to blame.
