Fox You Forest Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 Fooking Uriah Rennie! Worst ref ever... Hobbs is a great signing and I'm glad it's for a season and not until January.
Father Ted Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 Worst ref ever...Hobbs is a great signing and I'm glad it's for a season and not until January. No, MARK CLATTENBURG
Filberts lovechild Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 Good signing no doubt. However is anybody else thinking, take Bruno out the equation and what is the average age of our defence. May be a bit inexperienced! Looking forward to seeing the lad in action though alongside the brute Tunchev!!!
Babylon Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 But N'gotty has european experience with AC Milan.Any news of any other medicals being carried out Babs? So has franco baresi but I don't want him in my back four Not heard a thing mate, the contact works shifts so I probably only hear 10% of stuff going on there. I'm thinking maybe N'Gotty will be back up for Gilbert at right back, with Chambers and Mattock (or his replacement) covering the left. That would then give us Hobbs and Tunchev starters with Worley and Morrison as back up. On the right we have we have Gradel and Adams. On the left we have Dyer and Porter. Centrally we have Clemence and Oakley, with Wesolowski and King in reserve. We can also throw Kishishev into that Mix. Upfront we have Howard and DJ, with Fryatt, Chambers, Hayles in reserve. That's a decent squad with back up for every position, I'm not saying they are the people who will or even I want to start. The people in bold are the ones I think will get shipped out still and replaced in due course. I've left out Kisnorbo completely because who knows when he'll be back.
Shrenchel Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 No, MARK CLATTENBURG Definitely. He's beyond shit. The villa game was one of the worst performances I've ever seen. Complete waste of skin and organs.

Pretty decent looking squad when put like that. I'd rather see Fryatt and Chambers up front though - or maybe one more good striker to come in.
davieG Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 I don't know this guy but there seems to be plenty on here that think Mattock needs to move on from a 3rd Division Club to get the experience he needs and here we are signing someone with a similar level of experience.

Good point. Perhaps this signing and that of Gilbert might persuade Mattock to stay and get a bit more experience. He must know Hobbs from the England U19 set-up.
maddog Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 This is an awesome signing. Id be happy with him on loan even if we were in the Prem. Pearson you Ledge Tunchev and Hobbs now. If we can pick up a decent striker we will be well away. Frazier Campbell/ a player of that quality would be an ideal loan striker signing, obviously it will be extremely tough to get Campbell.
davieG Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 Headline from the Merc BREAKING NEWS: CITY SIGN PREMIER LEAGUE PLAYER Technically true but gilding the lilly somewhat!
Joe. Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 Sorry to burst the bubble but I will reiterate this. If he's that good he wouldn't be playing in League One next season. I think people are going overboard with the excitement here.

Filberts lovechild Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 Something that I find quite funny when I switch on Sky sports news when it brings on the 'players in' 'players out' bit. Arsenal players out - Kerrea Gilbert - Leicester Chelsea players out - Harry Worley - Leicester Liverpool players out - Jack Hobbs - Leicester We have also made a quality signing in Tunchev! Come on Pearson what you waiting around for, Ronaldo doesn't look set to go Madrid anytime soon, he might fancy a pork pie instead? Then we will have signed 4 players from each of the 'big' 4!!!

What's better is: Hleb - BARCELONA Flamini - AC MILAN Lehmann - STUTTGART Gilberto - PANATHINAIKOS Gilbert - LEICESTER!!
Charnwood Norris Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 People are creaming themselves because he's Liverpool property. It's too early to judge the lad, perhaps a few weeks into the season we shall see.
l444ry Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 Carry on like this and City won't even make half way up the table. Someone is seriously underestimating what it will take to get out of this division first time around.

l444ry Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 Are you ever optimistic? Or even remotely pleased? I'm sure I come across that way but there's no way I can follow the sheep on here just for the sake of it. If you think the development of our club since relegation is proceeding apace, then fine. I don't do self delusion.

If you think the development of our club since relegation is proceeding apace, then fine. I don't do self delusion. I think that Pearson has managed to assemble a decent squad in the wake of last year's pitiful relegation. I'm not sure anyone else would do any better, and, although some of his signings may be inexperienced, they have excited me, and many other fans, simply because they have a desire to play for Leicester, something which signings over the past few seasons clearly haven't had. I can understand your dissapointment at relegation but can't understand why you criticise everything that Pearson has tried to do to change this club for the better.
