lildave3 Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 Prefer N'gotty he has european experience with AC Milan
teblin Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 I really don't think that is on the cards - we've a reasonable Div.III keeper who has won monthly awards in the Championship and an average Div.III one as a back-up. I can't see who we are going to bring here who'd be better and stay for the duration of his contract without being nabbed by someone higher up.I'd rather have a guarantee of goals myself. Agree with that. Though i'm nervious about the left back situation too, though i guess all depends on mattocks future.
Alexikokopops Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 Well it was amazingly obviouse that we need a half decent defender, whats going on with kisnorbo by the way? has he left because ive not heard anything about him at all since the end of the season, Hobbs and Kisnorbo what a pairing!Although if Kisnorbo has dissapered off the face of the earth Hobbs and Tunchev will be well more than capable. Did his knee in at the end of last season, out until January.
Milky Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 Has anyone actually seen him play, with their own eyes, for an entire game?
Jonezy Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 Thought centre-back was sorted, but a highly rated youngster from Liverpool can't be too bad. Guess this signals that N'Gotty will become our Bogarde for a season and Garner, Magunda and Rowe-Turner being touted not good enough by Nigel. Still want a frickin left-back though......
Alexikokopops Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 Has anyone actually seen him play, with their own eyes, for an entire game? I've seen his entire Lincoln first team career
Fox in a Box Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 I'd rate Hobbs as a decent signing, with this at hand we can move forward..... Stearman was prone to some howlers but we are looking alot better off in defence than we were last year towards the end. I actually think losing both Stears and McCauley for cash wont effect us in this league with the players that we have bought in
Babylon Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 Thought centre-back was sorted, Why? One injured until x-mas. One about 70 years old. One who is from bulgaria and can't speak a word of the language. One from the Blue Square Conference. One being given a free from the Chelsea youth team. ... now one from liverpools reserves. I thought we needed strengthening so i'm fairly happy, I just pray he is good. Again it's an unknown as he has hardly played competitive football.

Any news of any other medicals being carried out Babs?

SamL Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 Very pleased about this. It sounds very promising. I've been very impressed with Pearsons dealings in the transfer market so far.

But we have a leftback position where the only natural is a 17 year old wonderkid, who we could lose any day and then a centre-back position were we are getting overloaded with unknown talent and a 70 year old.
Joe. Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 I'll be honest. Whenever I've seen him play he's looked, well, shaky. But by the sounds of things he has a pretty promising future ahead of him and there must be some substance to this hype so I'm definitely prepared to give him a chance around here.

Daggers Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 IF popularity has anything to do with it, Jack Hobbs will be a Liverpool player for years to come.Everyone at Melwood, from Jimmy and Steve on the gate right up to Rafa Benitez, has nothing but good to speak of him, and the club is delighted that he got his chance in the first team against Bolton Wanderers. Jack (below) is also impeccably polite and even asks reporters if the interview he has just conducted with them was any good, something which is pretty much unheard of in modern football. General Smuts Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 Where the fook did that come from! I went for a nap and bam Jack Hobbs. Fantastic!
fox123 Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 A good signing indeed! Am I right in thinking Tunchev can play left back as well?
Basingstoke Fox Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 This is only a loan though what about the long term? And we have enough defenders, we will actually need some goals if we are going to get anywhere this season! Oh well hopefully hes good i guess.

I think this could well be meaning bye bye to N'gotty OR we're sending Worley out on loan - but don't see that last one happening tbh.
