Jack Hobbs Signed

People are creaming themselves because he's Liverpool property. It's too early to judge the lad, perhaps a few weeks into the season we shall see.

Not all of us, some of us have seen his entire competitive Lincoln career

I think that Pearson has managed to assemble a decent squad in the wake of last year's pitiful relegation. I'm not sure anyone else would do any better, and, although some of his signings may be inexperienced, they have excited me, and many other fans, simply because they have a desire to play for Leicester, something which signings over the past few seasons clearly haven't had.

I can understand your dissapointment at relegation but can't understand why you criticise everything that Pearson has tried to do to change this club for the better.

We'll have to agree to disagree on your first point. As for criticism of Pearson, I don't know where you get that from. It's obvious he's dancing to Mandaric's tune regarding the budget for recruitment. That's no reason to expect these players, who have achieved next to nothing thus far, to suddenly transform this club into first time promotion candidates. It just ain't gonna happen.

Definitely. He's beyond shit. The villa game was one of the worst performances I've ever seen. Complete waste of skin and organs.

The Fulham cup game was bad also but i dont think he's the worst - Rennie or Bennet. :D

I don't expect them all to be fantastic signings. I assume that one or two may be hit and miss. But surely having that negative attitude before having seen them play won't help things. For the level we are now at, I feel that they are good recruitments.

I totally agree with you on this one.

L44ry - I can totally empathise with you on why you may be feeling bitter about this whole thing. The club has been on a complete downslide in the last few years but right now I think things could be changing.

With what he's had at his disposal Pearson's managed to group together, in my opinion, a good squad. Most of his signings so far have excited me i.e. Dyer, Tunchev and we have exciting players who didn't feature a lot last season i.e. Gradel, Porter to feature at some points this season. Yes most of his signings are unproven lower league players, but isn't this what we want? Personally I've had enough of the "experienced" big-time Charlies that we've had around our club who are clearly happy to merely pick up their wages and not do a lot else.

 Agree on the unproven aspect of these players as well. If they have something to prove then I feel that they'll have far more determination than recent signings.

Look at all the clubs that were competing at the top of the Championship last season. Apart from one or two who spent parachute money, they'd all borrowed or bought talent from Premier League clubs and used it to supplement their own youngsters & established players. The teams in the lower half were full of journey men and under achievers.

We need people hungry for success and looking to prove themselves and this lad - captain of a youth cup winning team wanting to break into the first team at a top four side - will only help that cause.

There is a hell of a lot of excitement on here about this guy.

I think we should all wait until we have seen him play before getting ott. He has only made 9? first team appearanaces and couldn't even make the starting line up at s****horpe when they played us at the walkers. As they were possibly the worst team I saw last season I think I will hold back until I have actually seen him play. I hope he is good but I'm concerned he didn't make more of an impact at s****horpe.

As much as I hate to say it, I have a L444RY level of "Meh!" about this...and that's after a night of gin and scintilating wife#1 conversation.

I've never seen the bloke - I thought Jack Hobbs was a cricketer - but I cannot fault Pearson for getting another centre-back.

I really cannot see N'Gotty getting many games, I wouldn't call Morrison and Worley nailed on certainties at this stage, Kisnorbo is injured so that leaves Tunchev who we all have to presume is brilliant.

I doubt anyone would expect help to come through from the reserves anytime soon so Pearson's just doing his best to mend a weakness.

Let's hope it's a good plug because 11 goals conceded in four games against ordinary opposition is hardly comparable to the goal a game conceded last season.

I think we may also be calling for help at left-back, even if Mattock stays. What I've seen from Rowe-Turner scares me defensively and without players who can't play there then we would be in trouble.

Only J.Chambers would be the other suitable cover but then again, when he played 2/3 games at left-back last season people were slating him!

Aswell as the possibility of another striker coming in I would assume we would be looking at 2/3 signings at the most and then a very much full squad with cover in all areas.

I believe Beswick could do a job at left back

Not when he's out for 3 months.

I'm sure I come across that way but there's no way I can follow the sheep on here just for the sake of it. If you think the development of our club since relegation is proceeding apace, then fine. I don't do self delusion.

In 30+ years of supporting Leicester I have had too many seasons when the pre-season anticipation is the high point.

I am happy with the signings so far. Jack Hobbs isn't a player for the top end of the prem but he could do a job for us.

It may well be that it all goes horribly wrong and you can say to me in a few months time that you are right and I am wrong. But in the meantime can you please allow us deluded souls to dream for a bit? Otherwise you may just be ruining the highpoint of our season!

I've been sat here, reading all your opinions thinking to myself, "no way is he good enough to play regular Championship football to a decent standerd yet". Then I remembred what league we're in :D .

Good signing.

An absolutely Brilliant signing..... though at 126 years old, possibly could be in the twylight of his career, but with 61760 first class runs to his name and 199 first class hundereds I'm sure he can pass on, to some of the younger lads, some great experience. This will be the first time we have signed an England international for many a long year...... things are definately on the up!! :scarf::scarf::scarf:
