To be fair, thats a pathetic estimation. For 1, Brighton aren't going to finish 2nd. And we are going to be play-offs MINIMUM! 2nd place finish in my book.

Up the Blues.

heh, there are some famous last words in this thread... should sticky it throughout the season, there'll be some red faces when we roll in at 16th... :D

for the person who said he thought our mid would be lightweight, what he actually said was Weso and Oakley would be 1 of the best in the league and then you have Clem and kish + King as back up

And he also says "The midfield does look a little lightweight to me, though, so it will struggle against physicality"

i don't think we'll finish 10th...but i worry about teams coming to us and really wanting to beat us at home. and i also worry about our ability to break down teams that just sit in front of their box. we play our best football when teams come at us i feel.

northampton 4th....what a load of cobblers

We will finish 1st or 2nd, tenth is outrageous I don't understand how anyone can place Colchester, Northampton, Peterborough, Brighton ect... above us.

There is quite a lot of arrogance in this thread lol

I think we'll do alright and finish top 6 after a shaky start but there is certainly a chance that we could finish as low as 10th or lower.

I'm sure countless threads have been created in anticipation of the incumbent season, and pretty much everyone is feeling a sense of unmisplaced optimism about Leicester. We seem to have a good blend with respect to players (although selling Chambers, not sure about that!) and a management team that has stands out in quiet contrast to previous adminstrations but has got my respect so far. Pearson may not have Allen's way of swaying fans (and playing people in the wrong spots). He's no ginger groucho either and heyyy he actually he can actually shut up and get on with his job for once!

True enough, a brief look at the scorelines tells me that the defense seems a bit shakey despite the fact it's pre-season and players are still getting their shape. I'm not worried, given the competition in that area and Kisnorbo's reentry being anctipated, we're guaranteed a reasonable improvement throughout the course of the season. Midfield still looks under construction but the pleasant introduction of Academy/Reserve talent is sure to please the crowds.

So the point of the post is that more than anything we/you need to be patient. This team is bound to be inconsistent, sometimes unflattering and drab BUT PLEASE Mandaric don't fook it up for us.

What the scorelines don't tell you is the manner in which we have played or how we have got better match by match. What they don't highlight is the difference between this squad operating as a cohesive unit compared to a season ago and the sense of positivity in the players that has been all but absent for seasons upon end.

Last pre-season: bland crap on the website from the Captain

This pre-season: players, fans and commentators raving about Gradel

Last season ~ 27 right backs and a load of players who should never have been bought

This season ~ an exciting midfield

Get on board the Optimistic Bus!:D

A number of people have gone for Kishishev starting in midfield and I really cannot understand why he was such an outcast last season.

But that said nor do I think he's gone the engine power for a starting place.

To me he seems to do really well for half an hour and then he starts to fade. I don't mean he becomes useless, just that he stops being so influential.

Even allowing for him being fitter under Pearson I'd say he should be used sparingly. That way we'll get the most out of him cos he's a good influence on people around him and really compliments the squad.

King/Oakley, Weso/Kishishev...neither represent a bad combination but I really would start with the former. I just bet we go with two experienced guys in the end. Especially if Mandaric has any input.

This guy seemed to be talking sense until it got to the end - 10th my arse. Colchester were well and truly buried last

season and he's got them coming 3rd. We were shit last year but we only went down by the skin of our teeth and many

people forget poor referees cost us at least 6 points .

They've had a positive pre-season workout though - and that well and truly buried team didn't roll over for us at the Walkers.

I dont agree with 10th thats utter nonsence, it will take time for our players to gel I dont deny that fact! but in the mean time there is enough experience in and around the youngsters to rub off on them and make a difference. As for our midefield being lightweight....... im nearly crying at that comment, Id like to see who is looking forward to playing against James Wesolowski and Matt oakley aswell our other midfielders, Gradel is the only one u could class as being lightweight but then defenders are gonna be to worried about getting skinned by him to worry about him being pint sized. How an earth you can say colchester will finish above us considering the players they`ve lost and not added any depth to there squad plus s****horpe are better than suggested in this final league table......

Agreed. S****horpe are good for mid-table at least, especially considering the lack of quality in this league. Also agree with your view of the 'lightweight midfield' comment. If there's a more talented midfield in this division than Oakley, Gradel, Weso, Porter and Dyer (and Clemence if he stays, Kishishev will do well at this level as well) I'd like to see it. I actually think that's where most of our wins will come from. Colchester finishing above us seems a bit optimistic from their point of view, considering they finished 16 points behind us last term and have lost key players. I honestly think we'll go up automatically as we have a decent blend of technical players, muscle and experienced guile. Whether we'll win the division ahead of talented sides like Leeds, Huddersfield and Brighton remains to be seen but I do think we'll go up without the stress of the playoffs.

Agree with that as well. Without the 15 point deduction, Leeds would have finished with 91 points. 9 ahead of F****t. I think we're a better side now than Leeds were when they were relegated, and have a better manager than that cnut Dennis Wise.
