Lovejoy Posted 5 August 2008 Posted 5 August 2008 I really think we should give Rangers a season in the prem i reckon they would finish below mid-table they really are shite Being serious I reckon they'd go down! Anyway I forking hate Rangers, so them losing made my day .
dandannieldanok Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 Great result, well done Kaunas. I think Walter may have to revise his 0-0 at home bore tactics that everyone last season hailed as tactical genius. Thank the lord we don't have to put up with them in Europe this season.
poynton blue Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 Its good we are all supporting a British club???
Samilktray Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 Its good we are all supporting a British club??? Who cares about supporting a British club. It's one of those made up rules people seem to have which doesnt really matter.
lavrentis Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 Its good we are all supporting a British club??? Yes mate.. Leicester City So what if Rangers are British and Celtic are Irish
Lovejoy Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 Its good we are all supporting a British club??? Fcuk Rangers, Celtic all the way .
poynton blue Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 Fcuk Rangers, Celtic all the way . beautiful response?? I could not care less about the Olympics but I want anyone representing Great Britain to win I dont care, or support any teams in the CL but I want the liverpools and Arsenals to go as far as possible Dont give a sh*t about rugby but want England to win the 6 nations Its about national pride, something we lack in this country
poynton blue Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 I'm more St Johnstone. Fair shout when im up there and cant get to Ibrox,Stranraer is the team
Daggers Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 beautiful response??I could not care less about the Olympics but I want anyone representing Great Britain to win I dont care, or support any teams in the CL but I want the liverpools and Arsenals to go as far as possible Dont give a sh*t about rugby but want England to win the 6 nations Its about national pride, something we lack in this country And so you will be placing your patriotism squarely behind Celtic as they represent Scotland and Britain in Europe then?
Kilworthfox Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 And so you will be placing your patriotism squarely behind Celtic as they represent Scotland and Britain in Europe then?
poynton blue Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 And so you will be placing your patriotism squarely behind Celtic as they represent Scotland and Britain in Europe then? I would but I dont think Celtic class themselves as a British club ( You dont see many British or Scotish flags at their games) Until they remind you that they were the 1st "British" Club to win a european cup Btw dont hate Celtic just think some of their fans are sad...I was out in Manchester before they played United, and some of their fans were singing songs celebrating the fact that Mcr was bombed in 96........sad And before you say about Rangers fans in Mcr this May...Those that rioted were scum
Corky Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 Its good we are all supporting a British club??? Why should we support British clubs in Europe unless they are our own? I wouldn't support Forest, Derby or Coventry in Europe just because they're English/British, I don't want them to do well in the league so why should it be any different in Europe?
Daggers Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 I would but I dont think Celtic class themselves as a British club I'm pretty sure it's just Rangers' fans and Gordon Brown that even use the term anymore

I wouldn't support Forest, Derby or Coventry in Europe just because they're English/British, I don't want them to do well in the league so why should it be any different in Europe? I agree about your local rivals, but like me you probably have no issues with Arsenal Liverpool Etc....So why not hope they win (support is a strong word) Think you will have to wait a long time before you cant support the opposition of those mentioned teams in europe All im saying is Rangers are a British team.(unless you support Celtic) why not want them to do well in europe???
Daggers Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 All im saying is Rangers are a British team.(unless you support Celtic) why not want them to do well in europe??? Maybe it is because people have a problem with Rangers? I know that's my case. I grew up watching Danny McGrain and Kenny Dalglish - I never liked Rangers, I never will. Illogical & stupid? Yup...that's football.

Number of Glaswegian relatives, who are Celtic fans. Not just being anti-British .
Alexikokopops Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 The only reason I'm pleased (if that's what you could call it) that Rangers are out is because I fell asleep everytime I watched a UEFA cup match with them in last season. They made Bolton vs Fulham look exciting.

In fact, i like to see Rangers and Celtic fail because they are Scottish teams (and because they are both pretty average football teams).

I agree I love to see Rangers and Celtic go out to like nobodies.

The only team I want to do quite well in the Champions League is Liverpool, because of the nights at Anfield, but I don't support them. I've never been a great admirer of Chelsea, Man Utd and Arsenal, so that doesn't change in Europe. In the Uefa Cup I will be following Aston Villa (for obvious reasons).
Alexikokopops Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 All im saying is Rangers are a British team.(unless you support Celtic) why not want them to do well in europe??? I don't want the Scottish national team to do well in Euro competitions even though they're British, so I see no reason why I should start wishing that Rangers do well. The fact is that while we may compete as Great Britain in a number of sports, we compete separately in football. Rangers were incredibly dull last season and to be honest if it means I'm going to be entertained that little bit more then I'm happy.

Not sure a team that reaches a european final and another with one of the best champion league home records around are 'ordinary' quite an achievement for such a small country i feel.

Its like the old joke....At the start of Wimbledon Andy Murray ( Great British hope) When he fail (Scottish loser) Im an ex squaddie and some of the best guys in the forces are the Scots Welsh and Irish, and at the moment there is something bigger that any football match or Olympics happening And they are all British
