Anyone know of any places with vacances/somewhere worth asking? Not looking for anything major like. Tried McDonalds, and got rejected. Just give up now. Only joking boyo. Best places to work at your age are going to places like pizza hut, restaurants etc, as they will be a right laugh and meet similar aged people (and possibly get laid too). If at all possible, stear clear of supermarkets. I last 2 hours when I was 16. Utter utter shit.
davieG Posted 13 August 2008 Posted 13 August 2008 The Co-op always seems to have plenty of young uns.
Alexikokopops Posted 13 August 2008 Posted 13 August 2008 You tried the major supermarkets? I think you can search on their websites to see if they have any jobs on offer.
Libertine Posted 13 August 2008 Posted 13 August 2008 Rejected by McDonalds, now that is low. Yeh try supermarkets etc maybe HMV or something?
The People's Hero Posted 13 August 2008 Posted 13 August 2008 Tried McDonalds, and got rejected. Did you forget to smother your hair with lard, noisily chew gum and father a couple of children by the age of 15?
blue blood Posted 13 August 2008 Posted 13 August 2008 i am sure gary glitter is always on the prowl. Failing that get into the bloody shires.

Father Ted Posted 13 August 2008 Posted 13 August 2008 Try a local corner shop or something like that...
ASH17LCFC Posted 13 August 2008 Posted 13 August 2008 B n Q is always hiring school leavers and Oap's. Got a good chance there.
Brainy Posted 13 August 2008 Posted 13 August 2008 Join the club. Ive had to go onto this CSV E2E course thingy. They'll try and boost my confidence etc.etc. and eventually they'll give me a placement where i'll spend a week or two. Hopefully i'll be able to impress and they'll to consider me for full time work.
Asha Posted 13 August 2008 Author Posted 13 August 2008 I'm looking online and stuff for the shops in St George's RP. No vacancies anywhere yet.
Tabou Posted 13 August 2008 Posted 13 August 2008 I'm looking online and stuff for the shops in St George's RP. No vacancies anywhere yet. I am looking to recruit. You will make my tea, massage my bunions and general child labour. You in? If not, then try everywhere mate. The more places ou apply to,the better your chance. And I'm talking 50+ not like 5/6!! Don't get disheartened.
Brainy Posted 13 August 2008 Posted 13 August 2008 Going back to the B&Q thing, you can also do online applications for them. I think you can apply for any position, obviously they're not all available but if that position becomes available at any time the store will see that you've applied and may get back to you.
Alexikokopops Posted 13 August 2008 Posted 13 August 2008 I'm looking online and stuff for the shops in St George's RP. No vacancies anywhere yet. Pop into town and just go into all the shops/restaurants/whatever you can find and ask if they have any vacancies.
Joe. Posted 13 August 2008 Posted 13 August 2008 I got my job by giving my CV to the manager of the store, then I got invited to the group interview and then got the job. If you do go about handing CV's to shops try and give it to the manager whenever possible.

When I said first job, didn't mean blow-job....but thanks. Alright cheers, will try that

I was going to say the same thing - although major companies will have vancacies advertised on their websites but that's faceless and so as someone with little work experience a CV won't stand out as much. Where as if you make the time to hand in a CV to the manager - 1.) It shoes your willing to get off your ass and doing something - always a plus point. 2.) You can check out the fellow employees and boss - see if they're any fit women or men that take your fancy (sexual preference depending of coruse) and ensure the boss doesn't look or act like a prat. Have you tried LCFC? You may be able to get a job in the club shop.
Joe. Posted 13 August 2008 Posted 13 August 2008 Building on bigalrocks' post, I would say pretty much the only way you'll get a job in a decent sized shop at your age is by giving the CV to the manager. I was only just 16 last year when I gave in my application and handed my CV to the manager and I don't think I'd have had a chance at all otherwise.
Tabou Posted 13 August 2008 Posted 13 August 2008 When I said first job, didn't mean blow-job....but thanks. Well, I can't say that I am going to hold the position open for you. But anyway, good look mate. Having a job is lush anddoes help out with some neccessities, such as paying for stuff.
Samilktray Posted 13 August 2008 Posted 13 August 2008 Its more about who you know these days i find. So ask around family or freinds too... could help.
RowlattsFox Posted 13 August 2008 Posted 13 August 2008 Where did you do work experience? Maybe if you go there and ask they might help you out, thats how I got my first job. I know that getting a job in the Kiosk's at The Walkers is pretty easy but that will of course mean you won't be able to watch home games, but it'll fund your away days.
Samilktray Posted 13 August 2008 Posted 13 August 2008 I've gotta start looking for an apprenticeship soon. Thats a fecking task.
