Jimmy Posted 14 August 2008 Posted 14 August 2008 hardly surprising seeing as we probably signed the most players
Lets Be having You Posted 14 August 2008 Posted 14 August 2008 you need to be very very carefull.what you say about people on internet sites when you dont have any proof, but i put that down to your Age
Guest ttfn Posted 14 August 2008 Posted 14 August 2008 Fair enough, it was a bit short. No smoke without fire though
Thracian Posted 14 August 2008 Posted 14 August 2008 With that sort of money swilling about for the privilege of signing some questionable players no wonder Mike Newell's never been heard of in football since he tried to fly the flag for an end to corruption. It really leaves a bad taste to me but the game is singularly self-protecting and proving any malpractice is never going to be easy as Lord Stevens discovered, and for a whole host of reasons.
Lichfieldfox. Posted 15 August 2008 Posted 15 August 2008 Same story in the Times today. Staggerring we paid agents £1.63m last season. Revenue from about 4000 adult season ticket sales. No wonder the transfer kitty is empty.

Steven Posted 15 August 2008 Posted 15 August 2008 Saw the same story n all No wonder Mike Newell was so pissed off. .... because he allegedly only got 10% on the profit from any transfer sales.
Dr The Singh Posted 15 August 2008 Posted 15 August 2008 .... because he allegedly only got 10% on the profit from any transfer sales. What do you mean Steven, a manager get's 10% profit, or backhander????
MPH Posted 15 August 2008 Posted 15 August 2008 What do you mean Steven, a manager get's 10% profit, or backhander???? Part of Mike Newell's contract at Luton was to get 10% of the profit of any incoming transfer fee..
Dr The Singh Posted 15 August 2008 Posted 15 August 2008 Part of Mike Newell's contract at Luton was to get 10% of the profit of any incoming transfer fee.. WTF?????????

Official Transfer fees - that's why he got pissed off because they were being done under the table and the real value was knocked down hence so was his 10%. I see nothing wrong in Newell getting 10% if the club were silly enough to agree such an arrangement.

footballno7 Posted 15 August 2008 Posted 15 August 2008 wonder how much was paid to agents for each leicester manager's arrival? do they get a cut from this in the same way as they do for players?
Daggers Posted 15 August 2008 Posted 15 August 2008 Agents take money for arranging transfers. Wow - that's a shock.
mancfox Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 I am generally against the idea of paying agents extortionate fees. However, in order to attract the better players that would otherwise join championship clubs i think it is something that mandaric has to do. It is part and parcel of the modern game and if mandaric had not employed these tactics we may not have signed someone of the calibre of tunchev.

Vo Rogue Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 Fcuking parasites.. Don't be so tough. Without them we wouldn't have this wonderful strikeforce.
