Daggers Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 Was that the lunatic with the shiny head? Yes. You're going to tell me that it was you now aren't you?
Thracian Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 Have to say the home attendance was pretty disappointing, 7151 minus 1703 from us. When the nearest pub to their ground (at least as we came in) was emblazoned in Manchester United photos, you can see what they're up against!
FilboFox Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 Fourth in the table. :D Erm.... 3rd. Even better!
Thracian Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 Erm.... 3rd. Even better! Bloody amazed we've actually gone up a place.

Tevez Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 Yeah pal, long sleeved city shirt. Were you the one in the gio-goi t-shirt behind? Yes mate
FilboFox Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 Bloody amazed we've actually done up a place. Have to say that I too was taken aback by our move UP after only drawing... but I'm not complaining!
lildave3 Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 Very enjoyable day I thought. Enjoyed watching the match, just a shame we couldn't get the goal we deserved.(G'WON) Big Steve had a stormer, glad people are beginning to notice although I will still greet everything he does with 'G'WON BIG STEVE/unlucky Big Steve/Well Done Big Steve'. Lloyd should have scored, god knows why he didn't take a touch. Clearly loved his song though, bless him. Though Hobbs was again fantastic, Michael The Hoof wasn't bad alongside him again, Tunchev did ok considering he was out of position (just gives too many fouls away) but wasn't impressed with Gilbert today. Think he's done well in the first two games but today his passing was very sloppy, didn't give Max a chance with some of the balls he gave him. Didn't defend too well either. In midfield Oakley was fairly shit, King didn't come alive until the last 20 minutes and Maxi was marked out the game. And where Lloyd doesn't take enough touches to shoot, Fryatt takes far too many! Still. Although his running was pretty good and looks much better than last season even if he wasn't great today. As for the train rides - On the way there, ridiculously hot, get some windows! On the way back though was pretty good All in all, disappointed not to win, but pleased we have now gone 3 games without conceding (4 if you count Stoke), are unbeaten and are 3rd in the league. Good times.

Made me laugh more when we met his altogether tougher mate
Guest Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 Made me laugh more when we met his altogether tougher mate "I'm gunna frow this chair at you".
Daggers Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 "I'm gunna frow this chair at you". I shouldn't. But
lcfc_jme Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 "I'm gunna frow this chair at you". "My mouf aint full of food cos I can still talk". What a plank! Not bad today, I didn't think. Bossed the game for large periods, could and should have scored on more than one occasion, but that was just the way the day was for us. We only looked nervy defending set-pieces, mostly because their set-piece taker was pretty decent and Hendo had a 'mare; he was flapping all over the shop and wanted to give everyone a heart-attack. Atmosphere train was a disappointment going there, was awesome on the way back. Lloyd and KING! loved their songs, clearly. Was not pleased with the Fox Travellers attending their first away game ever to my left, shambolic singing efforts from them. Also disappointing was the distinct lack of "pissing it down" and the fact there was in-fighting between our fans. Poor showing. Enjoyable day, though. Definitely looking promising for many more Saturday afternoons this season. EDIT: Also VERY displeased at the amount of abuse I was given for having an Ireland / Côte d'Ivoire flag at the game today. Somehow, I think "dirty Irish ****" and other similar jibes are a little unfair. Especially when people thought I was lying about the similarities between the flags of the two aforementioned countries. Muppets.
Scow Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 Twas a cracking day. I thought we were the better side and should have won the game. Stockport passed the ball well, but it was all done across their back 4 and midfield to little effect. They rarely posed a threat, which is partly down to the way we defended as a team. 3 clean sheets, 3 games unbeaten - a pretty good start.
Tubes Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 Best part of my day was the train back! Im hoping you lot are as steaming as me. highlight of my day was getting off the train to a song of Tubes wahey! bloody loved it and loved you lads (and lisa you pisshead) also appologise for my trouble getting off the train, but a random bloke said to the women I was with (Kim) that either her or the Maccelsfield player would end up dead by the end of the day, in a suitcase! Trouble was my fault but the bloke deserved it as you can expect from what he said, only downside to my day! Really enjoyed it, hope everyone else did too. Think about me at work at 10am .
Tubes Posted 16 August 2008 Posted 16 August 2008 Plus loved the banter at the train station with whatever supporters/flashers they were brilliant day.
act smiley Posted 17 August 2008 Posted 17 August 2008 When the nearest pub to their ground (at least as we came in) was emblazoned in Manchester United photos, you can see what they're up against! I got lost trying to find a car park - took four attempts at asking people for directions before I encountered someone who'd even heard of the place. Hendo had a 'mare; he was flapping all over the shop and wanted to give everyone a heart-attack. It was bizarre - for each move he was either dreadful or spot on and there was no way of predicting which. Muppets. Not on. edit: As for the mounted police I really do not see any justification for their presence, as a law abiding person with a clear conscience I find the excessive presence intimidating not comforting. One thing that I've noticed is at the Millenium Stadium they have a horse near the main way in, and the person on it was friendly and helpful, and they'd just sit up there and chat and let people take photos with them and their horse and pat it on the nose and everything and people responded positively - despite it being at the point where opposing ends of the stadium would mix, I didn't see any problems there at all. Yet you look at other places and they use them in the same way they would a riot shield and to block off roads and people will never respond to that positively as its so much more antagonistic. The police really do need to pay more attention to how their approach is received and vary it as appropriate, I think. Dunno about today though, missed it all as I was lost!
