Average game, average result could have been a million times worse or better but then we are never going to win every game in thsi division we even have to admit we will loose a few times aswell, just not too many times hopefully.

We cant moan though aslong as we get promoted.

It was an alright match. First half not much happened. Second half was more open and we should have won by at least two. Thought King played well, defence looked good. Henderson was dodgy though - Fon Williams for Stockport looked like a good keeper, much more solid than Hendo who came out and flapped twice. Oakley was again pretty poor. Gradel couldn't get into the game. Dyer had flashes of good play but no end product, and really should have scored his opportunity.

I'd agree with all of that.

Thought the set pieces were much better than against MK Dons, when the corners especially often didn't beat the first man. Had a few chances from them today.

Thought Tunchev slotted well into the left-back position - solid, even if he didn't offer too much going forward. Don't think he's the quickest, but his positioning made up for that.

Not sure what made Pearson put Dickov on the wing, but it seemed to work as we finally had someone whipping balls into the ball to decent effect.

Howard didn't turn up until the second half, when he finally started winning things in the air and looked like he was making some sort of effort. He even made one run down the wing almost from the half-way line before playing a (admitedly poor) ball into Fryatt.

Fryatt impressed me - full of running, full of ideas. Seems to have good pace against League 1 centre backs. Shame he didn't score.

Great support. Must have been about 1600 there in the end (?). Filled the away end + an extra third of a stand. 'Ring of Fire' kept going for what seemed like the whole of the first half!

On another day we'd have won by a couple. Just have to keep on playing like this and the goals will come - surely.

We battered them had countless chances, but just couldn't score.

Possibly the result of many chances landing at the feet of Morrison.

On another day we could have won by at least 3 so i'm ok with the result.

Lloyd Dyer :worship::D

I'm more optimistic tonight that after Tuesday evening. We created excellent chances in the 2nd half as Fryatt, Howard and Dyer played well as an attacking unit (and I was unimpressed with Howard on Tuesday despite his goal as his touch was poor). In the first half their keeper didn't have a shot to save. Its harsh to knock the missed chances as to be fair the guys who missed them had been the ones to put the work in to create them in the first place.

I thought that Hobbs, Morrison and Gilbert were excellent, defending very well indeed. Hobbs looks like a great player and Morrison not far behind. Tunchev defended adequately but struggled going forward which is unsurprising for a right footed centre half in the left back position. This is an area that needs to be looked at. Midfield were adequate. Dyer impressed going forward 2nd half. Gradel had a frustrating afternoon and was sensibly subbed by Pearson as he was on a yellow and had been snuffed out by their left back and midfield support who had obviously done their homework on him. If we continue to play as we did second half we will lose very few and win plenty. I'd stick with the core of this team (with the exception of left back) and hope they get better as they play together as a team more regularly.

Plenty of reasons to be cheerful. Hope this lifts the spirits of those not there who were frustrated with a 0 0. It really wasn't that bad and a great improvement on some of the dross of last year.

That's great to hear. Nice report :)

Jack Hobbs seems to have won himself a lot of fans.

Right, so we didn't win, but what we didn't was concede - which means we didn't lose.

We're not going to win every game, we're still pretty much a new team and a point away from home (Stockport are no mugs) could prove to be vital come the end of the season, we might be annoyed that we didn't win right now, but come the end of the season, if we gain automatic promotion by a point, this will have contributed to that. Massivley.

We could have won today, but the key thing, was not losing.

Just got back from Stockport. Was a poor game on balance that we should of won with the chances we had toward the end, although we were very lucky when they hit the post first half that it landed near Henderson. No-where near enough width, which was the main problem...Gradel was almost irrelevant in this game.

Not enough crosses, King had a great chance and Oakley should of buried his chance but screwed it over.

The highlight of the day was during the warm up when an Oakley shot smashed me in the face. :chant:

Any 0-0 in this league is a disappointment - and this one particularly so.

The jury is still out on whether the Howard-Fryatt partnership is strong enough for promotion.

Have never liked Howard but thought he was outstanding today won loads in the air and for once absolutly worked his socks off

Yeah, when they were all taking practice shots. Campbell took one and me mate just palmed it away from his face.

Then Oakley hammered one and there was me, third row from the front, looking round to see if I could spot any FTers and slam. No time to react.

Yeah he did. It was my fault for not looking really.

Well were 3rd, things can only get better

Well not really, they can get 21 times worse.

I was quiet impressed with Howard on Tuesday night won nearly every ball in the air, it was that muppet DJ that was never anywhere near the knock ons and flicks to make them count!!

I'm pleased with a point today myself, Stockport looked a half decent side on Tuesday so a point gained in my mind

Looking forward to next weekend now :scarf:

We're three games in.

And we've scored 3 which isn't good enough, I know. But it isn't terrible. And we're only 3 games in. Jesus Christ.

In this league our strikers should be scoring more than they are at the minute though...listening to the radio, we could have been 2 or 3 up if it wern't for our dismal finishing. >_<

Everything sounding good at the mo.

I am not worried about the goalscoring issue like someone said earlier there keeper got the man of the match

and we're not going to score in every game.

I'd be more concerned if there kepper wasn't man of the match though.
