lavrentis Posted 11 March 2009 Posted 11 March 2009 4-0 win over Yeovil, we only beat them 1-0 at home.I thought teams tried harder against Leeds? Leeds class shown through. In no time they'll be back amongst their main rivals United, challenging for the european title.
davieG Posted 13 March 2009 Posted 13 March 2009 Grayson: Second spot still in our sights 442 Staff - 40 minutes ago Leeds United manager Simon Grayson believes his side can achieve promotion back to the Championship this season, and is already eyeing the return of Premier League football to Elland Road. The former Blackpool boss only took up residence in the Whites' hot-seat in December following the sacking of Gary McAllister. And after a mid-season blip that reached its nadir in February with consecutive defeats at Huddersfield and Hereford, United have since gone five league games unbeaten to rise back into the League 1 play-off places. And, in a video interview with Nationwide (available to watch in FourFourTwo.com's interviews section), Grayson believes Leeds can still catch second-placed Peterborough United to claim automatic promotion, before setting his sights further afield to a return to the top flight. “The club deserves to be in the Premiership,” he said. “We have to try and eventually get back in the Championship, where the club deserves to be at the very least. And then over the next few years you try and progress back into the Premiership. We have to set our sights high. “We’re on a decent run at the moment. Our first aim is to make sure we’re in the playoffs, but the top two is still catchable for us.” The Whites have won six home games on the trot, and a victory over Swindon on Saturday will be the first time Leeds have won seven successive matches on their own turf since 1999, when they were in the Premier League. And Grayson insists such stats don’t add extra pressure, but instead provide inspiration in their quest to return the club to the higher echelons of the football ladder. “You can always compare teams back to the past. When you’ve got the size and magnitude and tradition of a club like Leeds your always going to draw from history," he said. "What you have to do is try and inspire yourself to replicate those days, and at this moment in time we’re a long way from that. “The club has been through a lot of turmoil and it’s going to be a long process, it doesn’t happen overnight. “The club deserves to be in the Premiership with the facilities and the fan base. Everything is there in place outside of actually being in the next two divisions.”
Shrenchel Posted 13 March 2009 Posted 13 March 2009 Leeds will get promoted. Fair play to them. I don't mind them at all. If all football fans nowadays were like theirs then modern football would be a lot less shit.

To be honest teams like them & us should never be here so promotion would mean a more interesting season next year.
Ultra Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 Leeds will get promoted. Fair play to them. I don't mind them at all. If all football fans nowadays were like theirs then modern football would be a lot less shit. Yeah, the game really could do with an influx of more sick, racist, deluded fcukwits... It'll be interesting to see if the Leeds revival continues while Beckford serves his latest ban.
Finchy Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 To be fair, they are hitting form at the right time, so I have a feeling they will definitely get to the play off final. But it's gonna be tough, probably gonna be facing MK Dons or Peterborough. Would be great for them to lose another play off final
Tilley Posted 17 March 2009 Posted 17 March 2009 They've sold out their away allocation for our place already.
C-man Posted 17 March 2009 Posted 17 March 2009 They've sold out their away allocation for our place already. Took 1 hour and 9 minutes.
Tilley Posted 17 March 2009 Posted 17 March 2009 Took 1 hour and 9 minutes. Going to be a fair few in the home end I think.
C-man Posted 17 March 2009 Posted 17 March 2009 Going to be a fair few in the home end I think. Probably a similar amount to how many we had in the home end at MK Dons. What's the expected crowd for this? I'd say 29000.

lcfc_jme Posted 17 March 2009 Posted 17 March 2009 Does Beckford's suspension end before this game? I'd be a lot happier about us playing Leeds without him around, to be fair.
C-man Posted 17 March 2009 Posted 17 March 2009 32k promotion party I would say so, but it's on Sky, I can see that reducing the attendance a tad.
Corky Posted 17 March 2009 Posted 17 March 2009 Should be a big crowd for Easter Monday. Hopefully it will pass without trouble. There will be some in the home ends, definitely.
C-man Posted 17 March 2009 Posted 17 March 2009 Does Beckford's suspension end before this game? I'd be a lot happier about us playing Leeds without him around, to be fair. Unfortunately it does.

C-man Posted 17 March 2009 Posted 17 March 2009 His replacement, Liam Dickinson, is a far better player.Beckford did jack against us at ER. Because he hadn't really played/trained in a month before our game. He's dangerous but I think we can cope with him.
maddog Posted 30 March 2009 Posted 30 March 2009 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ted/7972413.stm Leeds United manager Simon Grayson has refused to rule out automatic promotion from League One. Leeds are fifth, 10 points behind second-placed Peterborough, but they have one game in hand. "It is still possible because of the number of games left and I'm sure other teams are thinking the same thing," Grayson told BBC Radio Leeds. "The players now have massive confidence thanks to our current eight-game winning run." NO NO NO Meanwhile Leeds United midfielder Fabian Delph has been forced to withdrawn from the England Under-20 squad. The 19-year-old has been carrying an ankle injury for a number of weeks and was forced to pull out of the game with Italy after picking up a further knock in Saturday's victory over MK Dons at Elland Road. Grayson added: "He is a tough little cookie. One or two wouldn't have played on with the ankle and hand injury he has had recently. He is a major asset to this team." Leeds in the top 2
Ford Super Sunday Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 Just saw this on the WACCOE site... Just had phone message from Leicester ticket office telling me I've had my order cancelled. Not living in Leeds, never had this problem before. Always got into away areas no problem since it became a necessity in the last couple of seasons!I assume they checked with our membership database, anyone else come across this...is it even legal? Can't see anything on the terms and conditions of the card that allows use of my details. If nothing else...a warning. Source... www.cockydeludedtwats.com

Ultra Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 I remember the last time we played Leeds at home on a Monday in front of the Sky cameras. Dare we hope for a similar result?
