Never thought I would say this about you but I am so let down by your lack of knowledge and your assumptions. Spouting ? your terminology to try to denigrate another's way of putting things to gain some sort of personal kudos and make you feel superior to the rest of the posters. Fail on epic scale.

You assume that I have not gone through trauma during my service. I was shot and seriously injured during a I.R.A attack , I was lucky that I did have the mental strength ( pre tuned ) to see me through that time in my life. But you are so of the mark in terms of how I see others who did not and are still suffering. You need to look up what P.T.S.D is really about . You are that typical naive erk who thinks he knows the answer to every thing what ever subject.

You come across as a spotty want to be intellectual who sits on his own in the pub observing and criticising the society your are not actually capable of joining. Not man enough to actually say those things face to face but hide on sites like this as I don't see you actually talking much about football in the first place.

Wonderful.

You'd be so much better off by putting the ignorant pr1ck on ignore.

You can shout at SEN kids, in their special hats, until you're blue in the face, but they just won't get it.

I suppose if I have ever achieved the heights you have in your old age I'll be happy. What a wonderful world eh? No regrets when you leave it bud.

I've not seen you at any previously public FT outing, or any of the hideaway +1ers.

I have, on the other hand, seen Nick, Spericals and shedloads of other people.

So, who is it who hides away on sites like these?

Please post a picture of SF, seriously. He knows me, it's no bother.

1. My lack of knowledge and assumptions

Incredible. You were the one making all sorts of assumptions about the mental robustness of the OP due to him acknowledging trauma which you attributed to him not being a big enough boy to play with the toys...... which he himself took a pop at you for. I simply pointed out that what you wrote was naive and ignorant because you didn't know the facts about his individual case.

2. Your Personal Trauma

I have made no assumptions about your own experience other than that you are not in a position to be telling people to 'man up' and that you come from the school of 'shit happens' if you haven't gone through what they have. Lot's of soldiers have personal experiences involving trauma - they are all different. Being shot is tragic but doesn't give you the right to get into a trauma dick measuring contest and your coping mechanisms being a handbook of guidance for all.

3. The Personal Insults

I'm off to sit on my own in the pub with my spotty face and cower if anybody challenges me.

I'll be in the usual pub before the Saints v Tigers Game from 1pm if anybody wants to come down and have a friendly beer.

It's not my most flattering picture. I was eating a lot of junk food that summer, so I do hope that it's adequate enough for you to knock a fap out to.

Click on the drop down box next to your name in pick in the top right of the screen and you have an option to mange ignore prefs, then you can add users there.

I did it to someone once though and you can still see they have posted, just can't see what, but you have the option to view post, and you always succumb and have a look, especially if it looks like a response to you.

Cheers Shrap. :)

I take your point Daggers but in fairness I don't think there are many on here who would want to meet me , especially the ones you have just mentioned.

Being shot was not tragic it went with the job I was not a victim end of that particular avenue of thought. Joining the Army does not make you tough or a better man but you have to except the risks that go with it as you would in any job of that nature , why do find that hard to understand ?

How exactly did you work it out as as a dick measuring contest ? I have already stated that we are all individual and some people have a stronger mental attitude than others that is not assumption or guess work it is a fact. I also stated that I have every sympathy with some one suffering trauma and in no way do I think I am better than them. For the record he has now told me what it was brought on by and he knows that I understand where he is coming from and have offered to meet him for a beer if he wishes.

As for the personal insults I don't care if you are offended it's about time you stopped being offended at just about every thing on this site , you really are in touch with your feminine side aren't you ?

I shall use it every time your casual racism pervades the forum. Expect to see it a lot then.

I dunno, considering coming off here anyway, spending far too much time on here instead of actually doing my job.

Been fun though.

I'll get the bunting out...

Flowolf, do you consider having a lesser mental strength to be the fault of the person and as a man they should face up and get on with things?

At least you get it, Ken - I can't explain it any more simply for any longer. Don't hold your breath for a reply that actually relates to your comment.

I just wondered if he felt the same sympathy for others in our societ that had mental health issues. Like many of the homeless and those that have to live in hostels. He did say and I quote;

I have already stated that we are all individual and some people have a stronger mental attitude than others that is not assumption or guess work it is a fact

Maybe if you're a little low on mental strength you perhaps shouldn't put yourself into a warzone.

You might hope our armed services would pick up on this before sending? Or maybe it is not that simple, and neither those who suffer PTSD nor those who send them have any idea in advance.
