lildave3 Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Morrison 5 (don't see why you call him Michael the Hoof though Ched) That's me.
tallington fox Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Martin 6 - one great catch and one b*lls up. Needs to practice kicking set peice to Howard on the wing as at least 2 went straight out. Gilbert 7 - both backs were good going forward Hobbs 8 Morrison 7 Dyer 7 Gradel 6 - couple of nice touches but fairly quiet Oakley 7 King 8 - has come on by leaps and bounds from last yr Porter 6 - match fit?? Howard 7.5 - most effective match I havce seen him play. Fryatt 8 Adams 6 Dickov - not really fair to judge him until he plays up front
Jimmy Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 That's me. i knew i saw it, most be from pre-season as from the league games he hoofs far less then Kisnorbo does
Staf Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Martin 7 Gilbert 7 Dyer 7 Hobbs 8 Morrison 7 Gradel 7 Porter 6.5 King 6.5 Oakley 7 Howard 8 Fryatt 8
dilko2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 [Martin 7 Dyer 6 (Tried really hard did well just got caught a few times ) Morrison 7 Hobbs 7.5 Gilbert 7 Oakley 7.5 King 6.5 (drifted in and out but had a reasonable game) Porter 5 (Dissapointed with Levi today) Gradel 7 Howard 8 Fryatt 8
Wooly Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Looking forward to you know who's 7.75 for Levi, 8 for King and 7.5 for Gradel.
FleckneyFox Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Martin - 6.5 - Looked pretty solid, not loads to do. Gilbert - 7 - Got fowrward less but looked good defensively getting plenty of blocks in Morrison - 6.5 - Looked decent, not the best ive seen him but was vocal and distribution good Hobbs - 7 - Confident on the ball, hes not afraid to go forward and is good in the tackle Dyer - 6.5 - Not close enough to his man at times but as a stand in full back goes a decent performance + got forward well Gradel - 6.5 - Didnt do much in the game but did nothing wrong, a couple of decent balls into the box King - 6.5 - He tries hard, but he never really shines, looks a little lightweight but still a decent performance Oakley - 7 - Broke forward, defended and played some clever balls - Everything you want from your Captain/Centre Mid Porter - 6 - Wasnt impressed, he looked a bit slow probably because of his injury, too lightweight. Howard - 7.5 - Has really impressed me so far, does everything you want your big centre forward to do. Fryatt - 7.5 - Made a few mistakes but he scored the goals, already surpassed last seasons total!!!! Adams - 7 - Was really impressed, got involved in the attacks and won balls when we were defending Dickov - 6 - Didnt make any notable mistakes but agree he is wastted on the wing
lildave3 Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 i knew i saw it, most be from pre-season as from the league games he hoofs far less then Kisnorbo does It's mainly because of his panicy clearances, most of which are sliced out of play. Michael the Panic clearance doesn't quite sound as good though.
smokey Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Looking forward to you know who's 7.75 for Levi, 8 for King and 7.5 for Gradel. That will be Thrachian then!!! When will people realise that Levi Porter is shite!!!
Unabomber Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 That will be Thrachian then!!!When will people realise that Levi Porter is shite!!! Well he was very ineffective today and anyone who was there could see that.
Milan Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Martin - 6 Looks better than Hendo Gilbert - 7 Dyer - 6 Morrison - 6 Hobbs - 7 Oakley - 8 Clever play Porter - 5 Needs fitness before I write him off Gradel - 6 can't cross, yet! King - 4 Don't see it myself, Junior Lewis anyone. We've only got ten men. Howard - 7 Fryatt - 8
dilko2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Who plays if king dont then?, also i know he was not brilliant today but he was not our worse player!
daveyboy Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Martin - 7 Gilbert - 8 Dyer - 6 Morrison - 6.5 Hobbs - 7.5 Oakley - 8 Porter - 5 Gradel - 6 King - 5.5 Howard - 7.5 Fryatt - 8
mmarkie Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Martin 7-Some good catches and one brilliant save could do nothing about the goal. Gilbert 8-Brilliant. Morrison 7-Solid. Hobbs 7-Solid. Dyer 8-Good going forward, got caught out a few times which was understandable seeing as he wasn't in his normal position and good thinking for the first goal. Gradel 5- One good set up for the second but didn't impress me at all. Oakley 8- Great today good cross for Howards and bossed the midfield. King 6-Gave it away a bit too much but was good. Porter 6-Could see he wasn't really match fit but still played quite well. Howard 9-My MOM,held the ball up well and was in the right position to score his goal. Fryatt 7- Average until he scored then he played well. Dickov 6-Why on the left? Adams 7-Was good and good play to put Oakley through for the 3rd.
Mikey Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Martin - 6.5 Gilbert - 7 Morrison - 6 Hobbs - 7 Dyer - 6.5 Gradel - 7 Oakley - 7 King - 6 Porter - 6 Fryatt - 8 Howard - 7.5 Subs: Dickov - 6 Adams - 6
Stig the Lawnmower Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 dissapointed with levi, he wasn't that bad but i'm sure he has more to offer. howard and fryatt were v good don't see why martin has replaced hendo, kicking was crap, must have gone straight out about three times i think hendo deserved to keep his place until he had a bad performance agree with general comments about dickov out of position was gradel injured?

Yeah, was limping when he went off.
Ultra Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Martin - 6 Gilbert - 7 Hobbs - 7 Morrison - 7 Dyer - 7 Gradel - 6 Oakley - 6 King - 6 Porter - 6 Howard - 7 Fryatt - 8* Adams - 6 Dickov - 6 Ref - 4 (dreadfully inconsistent, and missed the most blatant penalty you will ever see) Fans - 5 (very subdued)
Thracian Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Martin 5.5 (His kicking was attrocious and I couldn't understand what he offered us that Henderson didn't). Gilbert 7.5 (An all-round good game. Won tackles, supported the attack, looked composed). Dyer 6.5 (Looked more at ease in the unfamiliar position at left-back and was well supported by Porter. Tranmere rarely posed a threat.). Hobbs 7.25 (Mostly in control. Unlucky that the central pair finally let a goal through their department due to a stopping when a linesman waved his flag like a railway porter. They weren't to know it wasn't offside and while they were naive to stop it was a totally undeserved goal). Morrison 6.25 (A bit basic especially with some of his hit and hope distribution but sound enough generally). Gradel 6.75 (Goodish game without being outstanding. Got the ball into the box quickly when he could and took the free-kick which produced our second goal which is typical of what he does really. One decent shot). Porter 6.25 (Played a sound part in helping Dyer and keeping our moves going. Put in two or three decent crosses and was frequently involved in our better moves, particularly first half. One break involving Porter and Dyer almost led to a goal but Matty Fryatt just took too long to shoot. On another occasion he combinmed with Fryatt and Howard to put King in for a close range chance which disappeared when the midfielder slipped. Next a good combination with Dyer finished with Porter shooting into the side netting as City threatened quite strongly. His departure at 2-0 led preceded our worst spell in the match.) Oakley 7.5 (Some telling moments and always involved. Took the quick free-kick for our first goal and also assisted with our third goal which killed the match). King 6.75 (He and Oakley looked solid and reliable in midfield. Had a good chance ruined when he slipped and put Howard in to deliver a shot across the goal which might easily have been turned in). Howard 7.5 (Scored his second goal of the season by being in the six yard box at the right time and had a hand in our third goal as the highlights of another enthusiastic day which kept him well on course for the 16 goals I expect for the season. Fryatt 8.25 (Not often he scores one header let alone two and four goals so far only confirms my stated belief that he'll do well this season and at this level. Clearly benefitted from the work he's done on his fitness and the fact that, with a strong midfield, he doesn't have to forage so much in places where he's no danger. Involved in many of our best moves and quite clearly man of the match for me. Adams 6.25 (Well enough involved during his short appearance and played a part in our third goal) Dickov 4.5 (Apart from giving him some match minutes his replacing of Porter coincided with us losing momentum, conceding a goal and giving Tranmere their first flickering chance of finishing level. He really contributed nothing and should simply be used as a replacement for strikers which is where he's most effective. and as our two strikers were rampant there was really no case for his playing that benefitted our aims). Pearson 7.5 (Secured our third home win in three games this season and another game that would quite likely have resulted in a clean sheet but for the linesman waving his flag and our defenders losing their focus. Again our closing down and covering was crisp and Tranmere were allowed to pose very little threat up front. He tried to involve members of his squad but Dickov for Porter was an unnecessary risk because, even though Porter was understandably feeling the pace by then, it noticeably cost us some momentum). Referee: 4 (So inconsistent. Allowing so many things to go without a booking when he booked Howard for something innocuous didn't add up. Fryatt was lucky to stay on the field for one challenge but might also have won a penalty and having a linesman keep flagging for several seconds before Tranmere scored was noticably offputting. No, we shouldn't have stopped but so many offsides are given from that position it was perhaps understandable).
Jimmy Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 It's mainly because of his panicy clearances, most of which are sliced out of play.Michael the Panic clearance doesn't quite sound as good though. how about Michael the rash?
lcfc81 Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Martin - 6 Worried me in the second half, the jury is still out. Gilbert - 7.5. An excellent player, full of energy, gives us a spark, and when he does make a mistake has the pace to make it up Hobbs - 7 Not his best performance today, made a number of mis-kicks and the pressure got to him during their 5 mins of domination. Other than that solid. Morrison - 8. I really like him, and think he might become a very good player for us. I can't understand people who seem to be down on him and say he hoofs the ball too much (couldn't see it myself). Dyer - 7.5. An excellent game at left back, a good signing. Gradel - 6, He runs at people all day and never gives up Oakley - 7. Some good tackling in the center and some of his short passing in excellent to link up play. King - 6. Getting there needs time and confidence. Porter - 6. Steady, can't remember too many crosses. Will get better with matches. Howard - 8. A differen man this year. We need Howard in this form to help us up. Fryatt - 8. Again a different man this year. The run of games has done him good and I have forgotten about Hume already!!!!! Adams - 7. really important 'up for it' defensive header when we were under the kosh, excellent composure for the final goal, first pushing it out wide before receiving it and shooting (it took a last ditch header to stop him scoring!) Dickov - 6. Getting his minutes. Will be back to match fitness soon!!
lildave3 Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 how about Michael the rash? I'll stick to The Hoof thanks.
Legend_in_blue Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Howard 7.5 (Scored his second goal of the season by being in the six yard box at the right time and had a hand in our third goal as the highlights of another enthusiastic day which kept him well on course for the 16 goals I expect for the season.Fryatt 8.25 (Not often he scores one header let alone two and four goals so far only confirms my stated belief that he'll do well this season and at this level. Clearly benefitted from the work he's done on his fitness and the fact that, with a strong midfield, he doesn't have to forage so much in places where he's no danger. Involved in many of our best moves and quite clearly man of the match for me. For me, Howard was better than Fryatt today. Fryatt just happened to be in the right place at the right time to score his goals. His touch at times was terrible and he was guilty far too often of trying to take one touch too many when attempting strikes at goal. Howard did everything well. Kept it simple. Fryatt tries to overplay the ball. As was shown today.
lcfc81 Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Oh did anyone else see the Tranmere fans dancing to the goal music when we scored our 3rd!!!!! Mad scousers!
