Sappleton at Bournemouth

Left it too late to get a ticket for Chelters so went with mate (who is a Bournemouth fan) to Port Vale.

Sappletizer on from the start. Truth be told he was hopeless. At one point the Cherries fans (all 50 of them) started a rousing chorus of "send him back". Someone quipped "he's not exactly the new Gradel, is he?".

Must admit, my opionion was similar. He was slow, ponderous, looked over weight, couldn't hold the ball up, was unable to bring a team mate into play and when near goal his finishing (well, 2 shouts and one header) was woeful.

He was subbed after 57 mins.

Conclusion: anyone that thinks Saps is the future of our foward line, think again.

Second conclusion: Bournemouth looked awful and will be kissing goodbye to the League unless a mircale happens.

Third conclusion: The Potteries was, is and will forever remain a shit hole.

I thought he looked sluggish last season in the reserves, but against quorn ( yes I no its quorn and they're cr*p ) but he reminded me of heskey

I've seen him a few times and the main handle you can hang on him is inconsistent, for every relatively great game he's had there's been 2/3 where he's looked hopeless.

His main attribute is the power of his shooting, his size gives him a big advantage, especially to those that don't know him although even then he doesn't use this strength in any obvious way very often and this advantage such that it is will diminish the further up the ladder he goes.

From what I've seen he's certainly got a lot of improving to do.

It wasn't all bad for City connections. Dodds got two assists Vale against Bournemouth so I gather.

Can't argue much about the Potteries!

Even though Dodds plays for Vale?

There will be some Bournemouth fans at Notts as mate and his Missus are coming up. I'm going too, so that's 3 at least. They have a loyal kop - all 20 of them plus a few die hards who have been with them for years. -17pts, unbelieveably bad off the field management (including letting SOD go, who as we all know is a good manager. Well, I know).

If we were pissed off last season think how bad it was being a Bournemouth fan? They saved themselves from relegation with an amazing run but went down because of the points deduction and then had to release Gradel and Sam Vokes (to Wolves). I think they are looking forward to a nice little clash with Weymouth next year however!

The Cherries need all the help they can get. All Leicester fans will be welcomed next week I'm sure!

PS Dodds looked OK yesterday, although The Cherries defence was woeful. PV forwards pretty much had the run of the field bar 10 mins before Bournemouth equalised.

I'm pledging my allegiance to Ricky next week to go to Notts County. It's a cheap day out, it's another ground to add to the list and it'll satisfy my football fix.

And we're going in the Bournemouth end.

Oh, and Ben, if you think I'm buying your food, think again. ;)
