Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 23 October 2008 Posted 23 October 2008 Its not prohibited, it just doesn't make any sense. I don't know the whole story, but my guess would be that he owns 49% of the club, and just ploughs all the money in. He doesn't care that he won't make any money from it.Kinda like the Arabians takin' over Man city on a smaller scale, and bear in mind they don't have many foreign owners like we do! I can't remember whther this is true or not, but I vaguely remember Dortmund having to go public because they were bankrupt, so people could buy shares in them on the stock market. I didn't imagine that did I?

I didn't imagine that did I? Personally I thought they went bankrupt whilst on the stock market. It's shares plumpted when they went near bankrupt.
CosbehFox Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 Interesting, never knew about this Hoffenheim and the laws in Germany, thanks for the insight. They are German's Gretna. They are building a new stadium of 25,000 despite the village origin of club having a population of 3,500.

Uhhh, a couple of years ago I read an article about how East European moneymen bought up just about every German 2nd/3rd division club and pumped money in..
act smiley Posted 25 October 2008 Posted 25 October 2008 They are German's Gretna. They are building a new stadium of 25,000 despite the village origin of club having a population of 3,500. IIRC, their new stadium is an out-of-town one between there and a nearby town thats big enough to fill it (if everyone goes to the football that is), though, so presumably they think they can get people going along from there?

lildave3 Posted 25 October 2008 Posted 25 October 2008 Hey everybody, Deivid's back! And he marked his return with a goal. Fenerbahce 5 - 2 BursasporFantastic victory for the canaries, as goals from Lugano, Ugur Boral, Edu, Alex de Souza and Deivid de Souzaensured that last season's UEFA Champions League quarter-finalists Fenerbahce make an impressive return to their Turkcell Super-League campaign with 5-2-win against Bursaspor at the Fenerbahce Sükrü Saracoglu Stadium. Deivid de Souza returned for the first time in several months and made a great comeback by scoring a fantastic goal at the end of the game. Talented canary Selcuk Sahin was shown a red card in the 82nd minute. What a picture this is...
Floating Fox Posted 26 October 2008 Posted 26 October 2008 ****ing monster. He is actually a real life Frankenstein. Will look forward to seeing highlights on tuesday.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 26 October 2008 Posted 26 October 2008 Dortmund and Besiktas both drew 1-1 this weekend. Villarreal () drew 4-4 againt Athletico in what sounded like a cracking game.

Joe. Posted 26 October 2008 Posted 26 October 2008 Atletico threw it away completely, they were 2-0 up at one point <_< Even worse, they went 4-2 down before scoring two goals in the last 10 minutes to level it
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 27 October 2008 Posted 27 October 2008 Fener are coming for you, bitch. I doubt that. There's too much ground lost already, what a shoddy, shoddy side. As long as Nobre continues his half decent form, Fener won't even come close. Atletico threw it away completely, they were 2-0 up at one point <_<Even worse, they went 4-2 down before scoring two goals in the last 10 minutes to level it If Villarreal had Nihat they'd have finished the job. They need a proper experienced attacker.

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 27 October 2008 Posted 27 October 2008 Simao's goal was sexy as. My main gripe with Athletico is that my brother's a fan, I never hear the end of it if they win, especially against Villarreal. We'll see. Yes, we will. They'd better catch them up in all honesty what with the silly amount of cash they've spent assembling that average side.
lildave3 Posted 27 October 2008 Posted 27 October 2008 Yes, we will. They'd better catch them up in all honesty what with the silly amount of cash they've spent assembling that average side. Keep digging.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 27 October 2008 Posted 27 October 2008 Keep digging. I'm under no illusions. They will catch them, it's a matter of when not if. But I'll enjoy this while it lasts, thankyou very much.
Floating Fox Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Just watched Bundesliga highlights. Hoffenheim doing ridiclous. Went top after beating Hamburg (previously top) 3-0 at home. Great comeback by Frankfurt. They'll still struggle this year. Bayern looking quality again. Bayer Leverkusen went top last night, Hoffenheim play Bochum tonight. Come on vfl, I've got the game on ticker, starts in 15. Can't see Bochum doing it. Sestak is out, and Hoffenheim have both Ibisevic and Ba up front. Could be a drumming
