Honestly I cannot see Berbatov making much of an impact at Yanited thats probably just me, quite overated and nowehere near worth £30 million. They should of spent that money on another world class centre mid for Scholes because he hasnt got much left.

My Yanited team now would be:

Van Der Sar

Brown Ferdinand Vidic Evra

Hargreaves Scholes Carrick

Ronaldo Rooney/Berbatov Tevez

Out of Berba and Rooney is a tough one, and a tough decision I would love to make. No doubt Tevez will be the fall guy when Ronaldo returns later this month.

There are so many issues to this including who said what and to whom.

Seems to me though that Spurs were clearly prepared to sell Berbatov.

So if they'd quoted United a figure and United had essentailly agreed to pay that figure then Berbatov had every right to choose to play where he wishes, whether someone else makes a later and better bid or not.

Agreed, you could even go as far to say Man City and Tottenham conjured all this up to make Man Utd pay that hefty price and push the transfer through because there were even reports Real Madrid had made a hefty bid! I mean realistically Mark Hughes must have known Berbatov was going to pick Champions League, it makes sence for the player.

As for Robinho, quite a strange decision IMO, I guess Chelsea didn't want him that badly after all!

You reckon? I heard a statistic yesterday that he'd scored 46 goals in 102 games for Spurs. That's pretty impressive and I'm pretty sure that 1. Man U will create more opportunities than Spurs did and 2. he will be more motivated to play for Man U than he was for Spurs.

Yep, but thats 30 million into the Ronaldo kitty so far! Only another 40 to 70 million needed do you reckon?

Not to mention that he conjured most of his chances up for himself. I think this season has shown that most of Man Utd's attackers, gifted as they are, aren't the ones that can carve chances out of a deadlock. Berbatov and Ronaldo are players that can.

United will be well pleased at this, as it weakens both the Real Madrid and Chelsea squads.

Hardly. Robinho never played for Chelsea so how his transfer to Man City weakens their squad I'll never know.

As for ManUre, clearly it's hypocrisy for them to slate Real Madrid for tapping up Ronaldo and them doing the same with Berbatov. Disgusting behaviour, although we've come to expect nothing less under Fergie. That's why they are the most hated club in England.

Personal opinion. I hate Chelsea much much more.

Man U doing what they always do and annoying everyone else while they do. Always hated them, and it annoys me when Man U fans claim I am 'jealous' of them. Far from it. The hypocritical gits represent everything that is wrong with football, and I'll go on hating them.

As for Berba, I don't think he will be a great hit. Certainly don't see him scoring 15 goals. I think Fergie may well get pissed off with someone strolling around the pitch, especially when you have people like Tevez who puts everything into a game. Here's hoping he is a massive failure!

£30 million is a big gamble. You'd want 30-40 goals a season out of him for that for the next 3-4 years.

Limited market. Best available. They're not risking all the £30m. So long as he stays fit he'll have a decent resale value for a while yet. He'll suit the United style. Flair and panache. Much needed move as far as I can see cos United badly need some new heroes. Makes Fulop for £3m seem cheap though! :D

Really? It may well be the case, but I am a huge admirer of United as a club, and of Sir Alex as a manager. He may at times come across as arrogant, possibly even as a hypocrite, but in my eyes he only does what he thinks in necessary to improve his own club. And why shouldn't he? It's what he is paid to do. Not only has he been hugely successful, but he has done so by running teams that have been outstanding attacking forces, and all the better to watch for it.
