DB11 Posted 6 March 2009 Author Posted 6 March 2009 Finished the first season in 13th, which is obviously pretty terrible but I had a chance of 7th going into the final game so it was incredibly tight. The UEFA Cup and Carling Cup saved me but my job security is unsurprisingly very insecure. Decided to have a bit of a summer clearout including Robinho for an exceedingly cheap £13m which is pretty risky but I've just beaten Villa 2-1 away in the first game of the new season. Stephen Ireland, Wayne Bridge and Vagner Love are stand-out stars in my team. Fool!
Brainy Posted 6 March 2009 Posted 6 March 2009 No not really It makes playing the game harder considering you don't know how good anybody is. But Chelsea are in the Championship and are bankrupt, Oxford Utd are in the Prem, Birmingham went as low as the BSP, Peterborough are relegation battlers in the BSS, Middlesbrough play at the new 400 all seater Riverside stadium in League 2, Kidderminster have been in the BSP for about 25 years, Leigh RMI & Solihull Moors are established football league sides and Newcastle haven't had a manager for about 8 years. Sol Campbell is the manager of Oxford, Alan Smith boss of Sunderland, Mark Robins is at Man Utd, Jason Dodd at Blackburn, Chris Casper at Spurs, John Terry at Bolton, Steve Tilson is at Liverpool, Mark Stimson at Villa, Paul Furlong at Wigan, Carlton Cole at Cov, Joey Barton at Bradford, Dennis Wise at M'boro, Jack Collison is at Crewe, Roy Keane manager of France, Ady Boothroyd in charge of Italy... English striker Des Bradley is the best player in the world, and Aston Villa's Walid Dja Dje Dje is a potential 7 star player.. and to top it off, PL Champions Preston are being forced to play at the 400 capacity County Ground whilst Deepdale gets expanded oh and Pete Howard was the next David Beckham.

Had no chance in the uefa cup due to ineligible players and injuries and was knocked out by celtic man u are in the uefa cup on mine so i wasnt expecting to win it without my best team. been on a winning streak for ages in the league which has seen me rise to my current position from 8th since christmas
dandannieldanok Posted 6 March 2009 Posted 6 March 2009 Fool! We'll see, I've made a good start to the new season and although I've only played a couple games I can't say I'm missing him. I then lost 3 of my last 8.

Makes me want to play my Leicester one for a few more seasons, in about 2016 but nothing really odd has happened. Except Leicester winning the Prem in 3 of the 4 most recent seasons
lildave3 Posted 6 March 2009 Posted 6 March 2009 I'd love to stick out a game like Walkers has. I think he should upload it tbh.
potter3 Posted 6 March 2009 Posted 6 March 2009 I have a game that's around that time, that I've just left on holiday, Oxford are a decent force in the Premiership, if I remember rightly
City Fan Posted 7 March 2009 Posted 7 March 2009 It's got really boring now you always saying it. The fact that I disconnected once as my brother turned off the router when playing you, and I've played you quite a few times, does not make me a quitter. You played me on 2 or 3 occasions and it happened on all of those games.
BoneDog Posted 7 March 2009 Posted 7 March 2009 Does anyone know why my FM09 won't install? InstallAnywhere starts but just ends abruptly and nothing will happen after that? I would wup y'all on them internet games if I could get on. I'm just a superb manager

GLC Posted 7 March 2009 Posted 7 March 2009 I just praised Tunchev for his performances and he said thank you, he's happy at the club etc, then 2 days later he asked for a transfer

DB11 Posted 7 March 2009 Author Posted 7 March 2009 Hmm..... this will either backfire or work greatly! Gradel wants to leave but I want him to stay. He's unhappy so I've offered to loan him out for the season with the other team paying an initial fee and all his wages. Bristol City are an established Premiership team and have come in for him. I think it's £300k plus paying all his wages. Now if he succeeds in the Prem, he'll come back to me worth a lot more and probably be a lot better. But will he want to stay? I hope it pays off for me but I'm without my Gradel all season! Hakola will have to step up!
Finnegan Posted 7 March 2009 Posted 7 March 2009 I don't give a shit if players want to go or not. If I want to keep them I keep them, especially if their contract is 2+ years. The 'Unh' goes after a few weeks and they get on with winning.

Finnegan Posted 7 March 2009 Posted 7 March 2009 Sander Post cost me under 100k now he's worth 8mil Show him? That's good economics to be fair.
