Brainy Posted 25 December 2008 Posted 25 December 2008 He's right, If you just keep trying you will eventually get in. Thats ****ing shit.
fox123 Posted 25 December 2008 Posted 25 December 2008 When it says "unable to connect to internet", i'm guessing that is MY problem and not the game's?My mate keeps assuring me that it's the game's problem, and if I keep putting in the product key it will eventually work but I don't buy it. He says that nobody could get on on the day of it's release because there were lots and lots of people trying to get the game running which basically just ****ed everyone up. I got pretty frustrated with this mate, after starting to install it at 6:30 this evening, I have literally just got it up and running and played my 1st friendly game. Keep with it, this Steam bollocks and new method of installing is bloody ridiculous but I am sure you'll sort it.
Fox You Forest Posted 25 December 2008 Posted 25 December 2008 Thats ****ing shit. Not half as shit as being the Senegal manager and forgetting to pick a goalie for the squad and end up playing a striker in goal as i just have. Good job it was only Gambia.

Did you take tiny breaks inbetween trying, or were you constantly trying to get it sorted? If you get me
fox123 Posted 25 December 2008 Posted 25 December 2008 Are you using steam then? I take it people recommend it?Did you take tiny breaks inbetween trying, or were you constantly trying to get it sorted? If you get me Yea used steam. Dunno about tiny breaks though, I am sure Santa could of emptied his sack and fed Rudolph his carrot by the time it took just to update steam alone. Steam is shite!
Daggers Posted 25 December 2008 Posted 25 December 2008 I tried three times before it would install. Stupid, dumb Steam bollocks.
Finnegan Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 Why are people using Steam? I hear nothing but complaints. I didn't use it and it's been fine. DB11, will throw up my tactics along with Lewandowski and my AMC's personal instructions later if I get the chance. Whatever you do, don't set Lewandowski to learn any special moves. Especially not powerful shots.
Darkzzz_ Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 Are you using steam then? I take it people recommend it?Did you take tiny breaks inbetween trying, or were you constantly trying to get it sorted? If you get me I would install it via the other option. Think it is called "Unilock" or something like that. I installed this way and I get no hassle from steam, I do all the updates myself which I prefer. Uninstall and have another go. Why are people using Steam? Exactly.
Brainy Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 I've installed it on my laptop and it worked first time. I think this only happened because I selected the option other that steam on the "choose delivery method" part of the installation. I've just tried again on my PC and it didn't work. I uninstalled the game and got rid of steam and tried again, but I noticed during my installation it didn't give me the option of choosing Steam or the other method on "choosing method delivery". I've uninstalled the game a few times on my PC now and when i've re-installed it it has never given me the option of choosing steam or the option since my first attempt of installation. Am I stuck now or is there a way around it? DB??

When FM09 was first released no one could connect to the servers. I am guessing that a lot of peoplke got FM09 for Xmas and so there is a heavy load on the servers again. Keep trying and see if you get lucky or try again in a few days. DB11, will throw up my tactics along with Lewandowski and my AMC's personal instructions later if I get the chance. Whatever you do, don't set Lewandowski to learn any special moves. Especially not powerful shots. I only PMed you asking for them many weeks ago! Anyway, as manager of Birmingham I lost 7-1 to Barnsley and so resigned in disgust. I am now managing West Ham who are 19th in the Prem mid February. If I stay up I am going back for Lewandowski and Hakola!
Unknown Fox Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 I'm not enjoying FM atm, the new patch is really annoying. For Man City Robinho and Mario Gomez are averaging a goal every 5 games, despite having at least 3 clear cut chances every game. Frustating, very frustrating Hopefully things will improve
dandannieldanok Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 Dont use the skin what says FlexR or Right, Just use Flex09. I think this skins called Flex, isnt it? Thank you/
Brainy Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 Like I said I installed it on my windows vista laptop. I loaded a new game, joined Leicester and then noticed I could only see half the screen. I quit the game just hoping it was a glitch, but then I couldnt get FM running again. I had no shortcut, nothing. I've checked folders in my documents, my computer etc.etc. and can't find anything that will get the game running. Whenever I think i've sussed it, it started re-installing the game when I hadn't even uninstalled it. WHAT. THE. ****.
Mark Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 Any good tactics? I have no desire any more to fiddle about with it. I am manager of Hyde and my team is useless despite having 4+ star players in every position. I loved this game before it got too realistic.
Finnegan Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 I only PMed you asking for them many weeks ago! Anyway, as manager of Birmingham I lost 7-1 to Barnsley and so resigned in disgust. I am now managing West Ham who are 19th in the Prem mid February. If I stay up I am going back for Lewandowski and Hakola! Sorry, bach. I've been well tied up at work - not even had time to get my laptop fixed, let alone upload tactics. Will do when stuff settles down.

Or go to your C drive > Program Files > Sports Interactive > FM2009 > fm.exe right click Send to > Desktop (creates shortcut)
Fox You Forest Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 Indeed :)Anyone wanting a LUTON challenge try this one! This one sounds impossible. The San Marino Double Challenge Returns for FM 2009It's back again and it's pretty simple. Take the San Marino club team from the lower Italian leagues to Serie A glory. The second part is to get cracking with the international side and firstly try and get them to qualify for a major tournament. If you get that far then why not go on and try and win one! Unfortunately the San Marino side aren't doing too well this season and are currently in the relegation play-off slots. Hopefully they will get better and we can have this challenge again next year. Otherwise I'll just have to learn how to code and implement Serie D myself. Setting Up Your Game It's recommended that you download and update your game to version 9.2.0 before you start this. You can find the latest patch here Leagues: Italy Lowest Divisions: Serie C2 Database Size: User Choice Retain Players from Nation: San Marino Rules As before, this is just a fun challenge to see how we all get on. If you are going to cheat then that is up to you but please don't come on the forums and boast about your achievements if you have cheated. Good luck!
Daggers Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 I am finding it impossible to get anyone to sign for Tamworth or motivate the half-arsed bunch of feckwits I have in the squad.
LeeCovFox Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 I am finding it impossible to get anyone to sign for Tamworth or motivate the half-arsed bunch of feckwits I have in the squad. I managed promotion in my first season with Hinckley and am a play off challenging Blue Square Premier club in my second season up there, if you want a few names throwing your way give me a shout.
Ashley Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 Thank you/ No worries, if you need any more help or need any more skins ask me.
Fox You Forest Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 The club team don't look too bad, Well for Serie C2/B anyway. Seasons expectations are promotion or winners so the first season should be straight forward. As for the national side. Should be interesting.
dandannieldanok Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 As for the national side. Should be interesting. Stick Andy Selva up front and the other 10 players really deep and defensive and you'll go places.
Tevez Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 I managed promotion in my first season with Hinckley and am a play off challenging Blue Square Premier club in my second season up there, if you want a few names throwing your way give me a shout. Who you got? I'm struggling with Hinckley in the Blue Square Prem real bad.
Darkzzz_ Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 I am now in my third job after cleaving Huddersfield. I was offered a job in the Argentine second division and I took it. What an earth am I doing. Should be fun.
