Stevosevic Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 Most of our fans needed one, now they've got it. We were never going to walk this league and today's result proves that. Likely to be out of a play-off place at 5pm and the table won't make pretty reading,

Neil982 Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 What happened with the sending off at the end?

Stevosevic Posted 13 September 2008 Author Posted 13 September 2008 Why all the abuse? Clearly stating it's a wake up call, we didn't perform and alot of our fans were getting carried away. Not sure where i have said we won't win promotion. I'm not pointing the finger at Pearson, he'll do the job for us.
lookwhaticando Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 Why all the abuse? I guess it's because you've a history of being a bit of a miserable bastard. Bad news is never taken too well when it comes from someone quite so negative.

Bad news is never taken too well when it comes from someone quite so negative. Not too sure what bad news i have broken to anyone but it really was typical Leicester today. Off to a flyer, Pearson gets manager of the month and we play poorly today, that's how it sounded on the radio anyway. Not too sure why i'm viewed as a miserable bastard, but never mind, nobody knows me on here.
Tilley Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 One loss? Oh yeah, promotion is out of our reach. <_< Shut up.

Likely to be out of a play-off place at 5pm and the table won't make pretty reading, I'm sure some people will have assumed we'd walk the league. I doubt many would have though.... but in one sense, it is a wake-up call for those few. However, I'd take exception with your last sentence. Why does P5 W3 D1 L1 Pts10 not make pretty reading? I think most people would have taken that were it offered to them before the season started. The fact that we might drop to below 6th tonight is irrevelant as the season doesn't finish until May. The league table always fluctuates in the early weeks of the season. Don't you think you've overreacted just a little bit?

Bad news is never taken too well when it comes from someone quite so negative. Coming from someone who's managed to conjure nearly 18,000 utterly forgettable posts if I were you Steve I'd take this with a pinch of salt. This thread IS a bit of an overreaction but if you check the score prediction thread you'll find some people were in need of a wake up call.

I would imagine Pearson is thinking the same with regards to his players.

Joe. Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 Well, I think Steve has a point to be fair. The first two lines make perfect sense to be honest, the attitude of some people on here has been very much "we've won this league already". Today has just shown that we can't win every game with great ease, and it's going to be tough. We're not going to play well every game, and we're going to lose like this sometimes. It's only one loss though at the end of the day, but it's something of a slight reality check if nothing else.
Mack Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 That was my first game thuis season I am guessing we have been better than that!!? Millwall were shit, yet we looked like a team that had swallowed whole it's own hype, and a goal from nothing sealed a win in one of the most boring games I have ever seen. Wake up call is the perfect way to describe it, lets hope they make good use of it because dropped points at home will not see us out of this league.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 One game. It's one game. Yes, people were getting a bit too carried away, a matter not really helped by the likes of the Mercury, but, at this stage of the season, the table changes so frequently and drastically that there is almost no need for it. The player's resolve, and Pearson's character, will be tested, but there is no doubt that City will bounce back from this.
Fosse Boy Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 Think the 'we'll walk this division' complacency got to the players' heads today, but as people say, it's one loss. Delivery was poor, Millwall got a break, we lost. Simple. Move on.
Matt Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 It is only 1 game, I agree, however to some people who have posted in this thread I have one thing for them to look at: http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=53484 Is Fox123 onto something?! I also understand what you are saying Steve, Maybe its because we're on the same wavelength? Boring, Pessimistic, Negative, Moaning people, and our opinion are most of the time wrong and thrown straight out the window?

Agreed. If people want to get carried away with everything, let them. I don't see the problem with a little optimism and belief, we haven't had it as LCFC supporters for a long time. After that woeful performance I wish I had reveled in the top of the table glory a little more! We'll come back stronger.
Salieri Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 Chill out people!!! It was a bad day at the office, nothing more, nothing less. There will be others like it too, the main thing is to make sure they're few and far between. A defeat doesnt mean all of a sudden we're shit, just like a win doesnt mean we're world beaters! It's gonna be a long season with many more ups and downs but i'm still confident we'll be there or thereabouts come the end. Bring on the Orient!!
Thracian Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 Why all the abuse?Clearly stating it's a wake up call, we didn't perform and alot of our fans were getting carried away. Not sure where i have said we won't win promotion. I'm not pointing the finger at Pearson, he'll do the job for us. Just because they expected us to beat Millwall doesn't mean anyone thought this league would be a cakewalk. I certainly didn't and for some of the reasons seen today. Our team clearly still has weaknesses. In goal, at full-back, at centre-back, on the training ground and perhaps even in certain aspects of our leadership because I hate to see us looking so tense and desperate, a problem clearly indicated by the difficulty so many of our good players had in controlling the ball today.
Benji Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 Our team clearly still has weaknesses. In centre mid namely Andy King
Thracian Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 It was actually quite amusing listening to the reaction to any cock-ups today. Pronounced if Kingy made a misplaced pass ( he made about five), subdued if it was people like Dyer (lots), Oakley (lots), Gradel (lots of lost possession), Morrison (endless) etc. You do show though what some of our young players are up against although a good many of the player raters I've read seem to have been to the match I watched.
