Webbo Posted 19 October 2008 Posted 19 October 2008 Cheers davie, really appreciate your efforts with this and the Leicester goals.
Durnerz Posted 19 October 2008 Posted 19 October 2008 Average Didn't think it was as good as some people are making out, nonetheless a superb strike.
DB11 Posted 19 October 2008 Posted 19 October 2008 Didn't think it was as good as some people are making out, nonetheless a superb strike. Tbh I think it was more luck than technique.
Father Ted Posted 19 October 2008 Posted 19 October 2008 World class goal from a world class striker.
Samilktray Posted 19 October 2008 Posted 19 October 2008 World class goal from a world class striker. World class striker.
Father Ted Posted 19 October 2008 Posted 19 October 2008 World class striker. Yeah, he outshone Eto'o and Drogba at the African Cup of Nations and scored 2 in the final so where does he stand? World Class or are Eto'o and Drogba average?
Samilktray Posted 19 October 2008 Posted 19 October 2008 Yeah, he outshone Eto'o and Drogba at the African Cup of Nations and scored 2 in the final so where does he stand? World Class or are Eto'o and Drogba average? Every player has bad patches. Hes nowhere near Eto'o' level, what a ridiculous thing to say.
Durnerz Posted 19 October 2008 Posted 19 October 2008 Its like saying El-Hadji Diouf is better than Thierry Henry based on the 2002 World Cup.
davieG Posted 19 October 2008 Author Posted 19 October 2008 Tbh I think it was more luck than technique. So which part of the goal that makes up the majority according to you was the lucky part? The leap in the air, the timing, the contact of the boot with the ball, The pace he hit the ball with, the direction he achieved. I'm genuinely interested to know because I assume he was really meaning to missing or only half hit and send it over the stand
davieG Posted 19 October 2008 Author Posted 19 October 2008 Not a patch on Muzzys v's Grimsby... That was all luck though

I'm genuinely interested to know because I assume he was really meaning to missing or only half hit and send it over the stand He did well to step backwards and position himself correctly but when the ball hit his foot it could have gone anywhere. And as soon as the ball hit his foot he 'fell over' backwards to make it look like a scissor kick type thing.
davieG Posted 19 October 2008 Author Posted 19 October 2008 He did well to step backwards and position himself correctly but when the ball hit his foot it could have gone anywhere. And as soon as the ball hit his foot he 'fell over' backwards to make it look like a scissor kick type thing. Well every time the ball hits the foot it could go anywhere, the secret is to make sure the foot hits the ball and if you're good enough and get the timing right then that's what makes you a cut above the average. As for falling over backwards, when your horizontal and 3 feet off the the ground it's a bit difficult to avoid.

Father Ted Posted 19 October 2008 Posted 19 October 2008 Every player has bad patches.Hes nowhere near Eto'o' level, what a ridiculous thing to say. 7 goals already this season We will have to see, but I think he will turn out to be a very good player in the Premiership for years to come.
davieG Posted 19 October 2008 Author Posted 19 October 2008 It's not THAT great... Well it deserves a round of applause from me.
Brainy Posted 19 October 2008 Posted 19 October 2008 I was expecting better after hearing how great it was on GSS yesterday. Still a great goal though.
JakeShingler Posted 19 October 2008 Posted 19 October 2008 Great goal and it againtst Reina makes it better.
MC Prussian Posted 19 October 2008 Posted 19 October 2008 Amr Zaki - shoots like an Egyptian... (At least one player in my FPL team who does well on a regular basis)
