"MUST NOT PICK AT IT!!"

Seriously though, I really wish you all the best in making a full recovery and continuing with your career Humey.

As for the FA, they should be melted down and fed to chickens in India, along with that cúnt Morgan.

Is anyone remotely surprised at the FA's spineless useless nature. This is after all, the same organisation that refused to give Alan Shearer a three match ban after he blatantly kicked Neil Lennon in the head.

Although I don't like to see the courts used to settle disputes in sports, Hume should sue Morgan because I'd be very surprised if Hume is able to get insurance cover in the future when trying to resume his career.

As if the FA's cowardly behaviour wasn't enough, the Sheff Utd assistant manager's come out with these lovely words:

Let's just forget it ever happened

Sheffield United assistant manager Sam Ellis says the club has moved on from the Iain Hume incident.

Ellis told BBC Radio Sheffield: "We didn't think there was anything more, we think people have made a little bit more of it than they should have."

The FA has confirmed it will take no further action against Blades captain Chris Morgan for the challenge which left Hume with a fractured skull.

And Ellis does not expect any further action: "It was closed after the game."

Yes, that's right. The actions of your player have left another footballer fighting a career-threatening, and let's not forget at one stage LIFE THREATENING, injury, but it really was a nothing challenge & should be swept under the carpet now the FA have washed their hands of it & really shouldn't have been made anything of after the game at all. What an utterly disgusting statement

I remember that, haven't liked Shearer since. Didn't he say he wouldn't pay for England again if it was taken further by the FA so it was dropped!

Travesty. Absolute travesty. The whole thing just sums up football - the governing body is useless and because it wasn't Premier League the event barely made the news. If that had happened to a Man Utd player the entire landscape of football probably would have changed over it.

What an effing joke! They may very well have 'moved on' from it but do they really think Humey has? Or ever will?

It's such a caring sport we seem to have got ourselves addicted to >_<

Don't worry, we remember the fuss they made about our promotion in 2003 and their own relegation in 2007. They'll never forget this.

**** suing him, just run up to the **** and two footed challenge his eyes.

How he's got away with this I will never know. Actually angered by it.

The F.A have to judge the situation on what Morgan's actions were and the intent rather than what the consequences of his actions were. In this instance the F.A are actually powerless, as they can not prove the intent to injure.

This is something which FIFA can not regulate for. The punishment for a fractured skill is?.....

This is not so cut & dry. If the F.A were to punish Morgan they would effectively be saying that they believed he meant to fracture Hume's skull. They can not do this, now it will become a court matter, and rightly so.

Well he may not have intended to fracture his skull but you can see from the videos that he clearly intended to elbow Hume.

He leads with his elbow and it has already come into contact with and followed through on Hume's head before the ball arrives and before he even attempts to head the ball.

From the little evidence I've seen the intent to use the elbow is clearly there, I think it matters not whether he intended 'serious' injury, people have been sent to prison on manslaughter convictions for less intent than seen here.

Fact is mate he went out to hurt Hume and he did.

If you've seen the video footage it's in two seperate actions. First he deliberately elbows Hume in the head and then he decides to head the ball. It's not compariable to some of the incidents you see when it is done during an attempt to win the ball.

He might not have gone out to fracture his skull, but he went to hurt him. After reading and hearing some Barsnley fans comments, it's clear the "challenge" fits into the context of the game.

Morgan is a thug and his silence says it all. I wouldn't usually wish an injury of someone, but if it happened to Morgan, It'd be a small bit of justice. ****.

Having thought about this I am now of the opinion that it is better that the legal system rules on the whole affair, any punishment given by the FA would be unlikely to change the players attitudes or achieve true justice, by not making a ruling on this the FA has left the decision making to the legal system (as long as Hume takes it further) without prejudicing the case.

Good luck in court Mr. Hume!

Some 'experts' feel that by the FA not pursuing it or even it seems condemning it this will make it harder for Hume to present a case.

I doubt it, a court of law will take expert evidence from both sides and should be impartial, the FA's stance will be part of Morgans defence but there is plenty of contrary evidence, as I said it's best that these things get an airing in the courts.

The Pigs have the FA in their back pocket after the Tevez affair. Relegated because they didn't get enough points yet they kick up a stink and the FA are now seemingly scared shitless of doing anything to them. The dirty thug should be made an example of after what he did. Respect campaign? What a ****ing joke. Get well soon Hume and hopefully the very least you'll get is compensation for loss of earnings.

Barton get's a lengthy ban for nothing and Morgan get's nothing?! Where's the justice?

I know you're in love with Joey Barton, but I'm sure Ousmane Dabo will disagree. You don't get a broken jaw and sent to prison for "nothing" (Seperate incidents, i know)

I can just about see your point though, what Morgan did to Humey, was worse than what Joey Barton did to Dabo, the least Morgan should get, is the same as Barton.

In this case, I doubt there ever will be any sort of justice.

It's not that long ago that the blunts sacked two players for their part in the Battle of Bramall Lane (though the manager, the main instigator, got off scott-free).

But now it seems there are no depths to which that club will not stoop in order to regain its place in the Premier League... :(

Yea I'm sure Dabo will disagree but both Barton's and Morgan's accidents have both been on a football pitch and both lead to someone spending time in hospital. Just makes me laugh that one get's put in prison for a broken jaw and the other doesnt get a ban for giving someone a fractured skull which could of lead to much more serious consequences.

Absolute bollocks!

David Norris got charged by the F.A for something which was no where near as bad as what Chris Morgan did but he got charged and fined.

Barton's was on the training ground and even though it's clear for everyone else but the FA to see that Morgan's was intentional, there was no way at all that Barton wasn't going to get away with it, as it's clear that he meant to hurt him, as a punch in the jaw suggests.

It's bollocks that Morgan hasn't been punished, but I'm sure even you'd agree that Barton got what he deserved.

Is there something we can do about this? Because it genuinely makes me sick. I simply can not get my head around any remotely justifiable reason that the FA wouldn't at least look into this some more.

There must be something that we can do, as fans, to show our contempt for the FA's decision and our support for Iain Hume. A protest at a future home match? Some sort of system where everyone in the Kop could hold up some paper to spell out 'Justice for Hume' or something? Is anybody willing to take this up? Because you can bet your arse that there are thousands of fans - hundreds of thousands even - who will feel the same way around the country.
