Moreton Posted 1 December 2008 Posted 1 December 2008 Did anyone else hear on the Moan-In that Kevin's is a Possible Short-Term Loan option in January? I don't think Birmingham would let him go even on loan because he's doing well for them at the minute. But anyway if Phillips came to Leicester for a couple of months that'd be great. Guaranteed Goals Worth a quick Mention i think. But yeah, won't happen to be honest
Matt Posted 1 December 2008 Posted 1 December 2008 No chance. Without Phillips I don't think Birmingham would be anywhere near automatic promotion places, let alone clear of 3rd place.
Tommeh Posted 1 December 2008 Posted 1 December 2008 lol Your talking about a guy who SHOULD be getting the goals to keep WBA in the prem coming to us. I lile Tony Mowbray as a manager but he's had a mare on this one.

I lile Tony Mowbray as a manager but he's had a mare on this one. WBA offered him a 2 year deal apparently and he only wanted a 1 year deal or the other way round. I can't remember. He also said he wanted to win another League which is why he went to Birmingham as West Brom won't win one this season.
Corky Posted 1 December 2008 Posted 1 December 2008 Birmingham need him. He's scored goals for them, and wouldn't play at League One level either.
dandannieldanok Posted 1 December 2008 Posted 1 December 2008 WBA offered him a 2 year deal apparently and he only wanted a 1 year deal or the other way round. I can't remember. Yep, was the other way round. Similar to Dickov choosing us over Blackpool, he dropped a league to have the extra security of another year on the contract.

Tammy Posted 1 December 2008 Posted 1 December 2008 what complete and utter bollox. I'll eat my hat if he signs for us this season!! WBA did the right thing offering a 1 year deal, KP owed it to WBA to sign, they didn't owe him anything. Then once KP signed for Blues the move was simply all about the extra year, thought KP was bang out of order criticising Jeremy Peace. I might also add WBA chairman, runs his club like an accountant, he has done a fantastic job, more so then people think!!
Fatbloke Posted 1 December 2008 Posted 1 December 2008 IF Matty leaves at all, and it is an IF, it won`t be till the summer, this will give us time to sort out a new contract for him.
Tammy Posted 1 December 2008 Posted 1 December 2008 Fryatt has never proved himself at a higher level, offering him a 3-4 extension would IMO be a bad move by the club. I'd rather we kept him till the end of the season, or cash in to a panic buying club such as Derby for £2mil+, this sounds a little crazy, but I think it could well happen. There are a number of options with £2million we can sign a decent striker who can score at this level and higher.

Since when have we actually signed a decent striker than immediately comes to form and fires us to promotion? A point I made earlier.

True; I can't name one. But what good signings have we made recently?! I know someone who knows Fryatt (not bullshit, I promise you!!), when my friend asked him if he was signing a new deal Fryatt said: "money talks." Unless we offer him an improved contract, I really can't see him staying with us. I honestly think we should cash in, some club like Derby will offer £2million, we accept, Fryatt does a Connorly and is nowhere to be seen. From Pearsons signings, I can say I trust his judgement, so we'll see what happens.
Jack Posted 1 December 2008 Posted 1 December 2008 I would actually jizz if we pulled this one of, not gonna happen though.

Fair enough. Personally, I think his goals will clearly be vital in our promotion chances. And if we get promoted, even if he walks out for free, gaining promotion will be worth more than £2m to us. I think as a last resort, if we can't get a contract sorted, we need to keep him until the summer.
Tevez Posted 1 December 2008 Posted 1 December 2008 The suggestion that Phillips is coming here is ludicrous but Fryatt going the other way is a distinct possibility. I've heard that's the deal.
carterfox90 Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 we can all dream cant we.........it wont happen though but if he wants to win another league title why not come to us as we are well on our way :scarf:
J.Lisemore Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 not even worth talking about to be honest...hes on a decent enough paycheck at brum.

Who are these options? There were a number the other season, Eastwood, Varney and some guy called DJ Cambell, they all moved for millions and have achieved the square root of fook all. Who do people rate that we could possibly sign and will deliver 15 goals after Christmas, and if Fryatt goes we may need two of them.
Podge Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 I cant see this happening at all doesnt make much sense for Kevin Phillips. Also on the Matty Fryatt topic, i cant see why any club would offer £2mill for someone who would be available on a free in 6 months. We'd be lucky to get £1mill for Fryatt, if we did sell in the january window IMO

HE WILL ONLY LEAVE ON A FREE IF WE DON'T OFFER HIM A CONTRACT THAT IS OF EQUAL TERMS OR BETTER THAN HIS CURRENT ONE, WHETHER HE ACCEPTS IT OR NOT, BECAUSE HE'S UNDER 24!!!!!!!!!11111111111 I covered this one for you Flair.
